Trump Scrubs White House Website Of Civil Rights, Climate Change & Healthcare Sections

Within minutes of being sworn in as president, civil rights, climate change, and healthcare were all scrubbed from the White House website.

As part of the presidential transition, Trump’s team assumes control of WhiteHouse.gov. Before today, the “Issues” tab of the website had a section devoted to climate change, the existential threat posed to our species that a scientific consensus holds is caused by human activity. That section is completely gone with the website revamp, along with any mention of climate change whatsoever.

Trump On WaterSportsGate: “I Was Never Even In That Room For That Period Of Time”

In an interview with Fox News this morning, President-elect Donald Trump says there is no chance that a video of him in a Russian hotel suite with prostitutes will ever show up.

“It’s made up. Never existed. Never happened. And the reason I say that so strongly because nothing is ever going to show up. There’s never going to be a tape that shows up. There’s never going to be anything that shows up. Now, I would be very embarrassed if a tape actually showed up, saying something like that. It would be double embarrassed because I’m saying there is no tape. There is no event. I was never even in that room for that period of time.”

Putin Doubts Trump Used Russian Prostitutes “Although Ours Are Undoubtedly The Best In The World”

President-elect Donald Trump’s bestie, Russian President Vladimir Putin, has no problem defending him against the recent unsubstantiated rumors floated in an “intelligence dossier” recently.

Putin says he doubts Trump ever utilized Russian prostitutes, “although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world.”

Via Bloomberg:

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he doesn’t believe that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump met with prostitutes in Russia, calling the accusations part of a campaign to undermine the election result.

Unsubstantiated allegations made against Trump are “obvious fabrications,” Putin told reporters in the Kremlin on Tuesday. “People who order fakes of the type now circulating against the U.S. president-elect, who concoct them and use them in a political battle, are worse than prostitutes because they don’t have any moral boundaries at all,” he said.

Putin said that Trump wasn’t a politician when he visited Moscow in the past and Russian officials weren’t aware that he held any political ambitions. It’s “complete nonsense” to believe that Russian security services “chase after every American billionaire,” he said.

Trump is “a grown man, and secondly he’s someone who has been involved with beauty contests for many years and has met the most beautiful women in the world,” Putin said. “I find it hard to believe that he rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world.”

Survey: Trump’s Approval Numbers Continue To Slide

President-elect did not like what he saw in the latest CNN/ORC poll which showed the Trumpster will be taking office as president with by far the lowest approval ratings of a newly-elected president in decades.

According to the survey’s results, Trump’s approval numbers stand at 40%, with 52% disapproving.

That’s a long ways behind that of President Barack Obama (84% approval) as he took office 8 years ago. President George W. Bush had 61% approval, and Bill Clinton took the oath of office with 67% approval.

Additionally, 53% of those surveyed say they have less confidence in Trump’s ability to serve as president since election day.

Of course, he couldn’t let that go untweeted:

You’ll note that Mr. Trump loves citing any poll that shows him in a positive light.

His tweet must be referencing the pre-election polls that correctly predicted that Hillary Clinton would get more votes than he did.

More than 2.8 million more votes, to be precise.

China: State Media Mocks Trump’s “Amateur Remarks And Over-Confident Manner”

In response to President-elect Donald Trump’s phone call with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen, and recent comments that a break with the “One China” policy could be “negotiable,” the state-run news outlet of China has issued an op-ed mocking Trump’s “amateur remarks.”

From the Global Times of China:

“Trump’s thinking about China is becoming increasingly clear: He wants China to make huge economic and trade concessions to the U.S. To achieve that, he is willing to stir certain calm areas in China-U.S. relations, including treating the Taiwan issues as his trump card.

“We were simply angry initially, but now we can’t help but laugh at this U.S. leader-in-waiting. Maybe American voters ‘promoted’ him too quickly, his amateur remarks and over-confident manner are equally shocking.”

Scotland: Donald Trump Inauguration Skewered In Satirical TV Description

The world is in stitches over a satirical TV listing describing Donald Trump’s upcoming inaugural festivities.

From The Herald in Scotland:

Reviewer Damien Love’s piece in today’s paper previews President Trump’s inauguration – and it has caused a huge reaction across the globe.

He captures the world’s mood before the screening in his Sunday Herald Scotland TV roundup.

In the copy, which is trending in America, he writes about the Donald Trump story as a box office style disaster movie.

His summary of The President Trump: The Inauguration reads: “The story begins in a nightmarish version of 2017 in which huge sections of the US electorate have somehow been duped into voting to make Donald Trump president.”

He then describes it as a “feature-length opener” which concentrates on the “gaudy inauguration of President Trump”.

Love finishes with: “It’s a flawed piece, but a disturbing glimpse of the horrors we could stumble into, if we’re not careful.”

The post has caused a reaction worldwide with social media users dubbing it as a “masterpiece” and the “the most brilliant TV listing ever conceived”.

Trump Announces Visit To National African American Museum Then Cancels Due To “Scheduling Issues”

Well, this is an awkward kind of thing.

On the same weekend that President-elect Donald Trump insulted civil rights lion Rep. John Lewis, he announced he would visit the National African American Museum in observance of the MLK holiday weekend.

Clearly this was meant to be some kind of PR cleanup.

But the Trumpster couldn’t resist taking one more swipe at Congressman Lewis:

This morning, the museum visit was cancelled due to “scheduling issues.”

But no worries – “the blacks” love him, right?

Donald Trump Still Mad About The Election (And Low Approval Numbers)

President-elect may never be able to live down that he lost the popular vote. A fact that continues to bruise his thin-orange-skinned ego.

The President-elect took another swipe at Democrats this morning with the promise that he’s just going to get more and more popular.

THAT would be good news for the Trumpster considering he currently has the worst approval/disapproval rating of any incoming president in modern history.

Earlier this week, Quinnipiac released the results of a new poll showing 51 percent of those surveyed said that they disapprove of the job Trump is doing as president-elect versus 37 percent who said they approve.

The same poll indicates 55 percent of Americans give President Barack Obama a big thumbs up compared to 39 percent who disapprove of the outgoing president.

In the meantime, we’ll be getting a LOT more of this I imagine:

“Donald Trump” Makes A Big Splash On SNL

Alec Baldwin recently tweeted (how very Trump-like) following Donald Trump’s first press conference in six months that he “has all the material he needs.”

And it appears he was correct.

Last night’s cold open for Saturday Night Live presented the SNL version of the presser, and I’m not sure which was more outrageous.

Just a few choice lines from Baldwin’s “Donald Trump:”

“I’d like to start by answering the question that’s on everyone’s mind. Yes, this is real life. This is really happening. On January 20, I, Donald J Trump, will become the 45th president of the United States. And then two months later, Mike Pence will become the 46th.”

“I am not talking about the pee pee. Because it didn’t happen. And it wasn’t as cool as it sounds. Next question….I do not want talk about the pee pee. I want to talk about what is really important which is jobs because I’m going to bring back a thick stream of jobs back in this country. The biggest strongest steadiest stream you’ve ever seen. This country will literally be showered with jobs. Because I’m a major wiz at jobs. And this’ll be a golden opportunity for me as president to make a big splash. I know you’re in. How bout you? Urine? Urine? Urine? Urine?”

And I Am Telling You ‘Dreamgirls’ Star, Jennifer Holliday, Will NOT Be Performing At Inauguration

Broadway star Jennifer Holliday, who surprised many with upon the announcement that she would perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration, has canceled the appearance. Holliday called her decision to appear a “lapse of judgement.”

In an open letter to the public, the Tony and Grammy Award winner apologized to the LGBT community, saying she was “uneducated on the issues that affect every American at this crucial time in history and for causing such dismay and heartbreak to my fans.”

Apparently, Holliday found a change of heart after reading an facile on The Daily Beast story titled, “Jennifer Holliday Will Perform at Trump’s Inauguration, Which Is Heartbreaking to Gay Fans.”

The article expressed the surprise many of her fans felt – that the singer’s decision to participate in the inaugural event was “an act that seems to defy everything her most passionate supporters stand for, and even issues she herself has supported throughout her career.”

In her letter, Holliday shares that she thought of herself as a “bi-partisan songbird” who has previously performed for both Democratic and Republican presidents.

Holliday concludes her letter to fans thusly: “Please know that I HEAR YOU and I feel your pain. The LGBT Community was mostly responsible for birthing my career and I am deeply indebted to you… You have loved me faithfully and unconditionally and for so many years you provided me with work even though my star had long since faded.”

TO MY BELOVED LGBT COMMUNITY:

Please allow me this opportunity to speak to you directly and to explain why I originally made my decision to perform at the inauguration which was what I had thought would be my simply keeping in my tradition of being a “bi-partisan songbird” having sung for Presidents Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush.

I was asked to sing a song for what was presented to me as the “Welcome Concert For The People”– in my mind I was reflecting on the past times of being asked to sing for presidents and I only focused on the phrase “For The People”… I thought, For America!

I was honestly just thinking that I wanted my voice to be a healing and unifying force for hope through music to help our deeply polarized country… Regretfully, I did not take into consideration that my performing for the concert would actually instead be taken as a political act against my own personal beliefs and be mistaken for support of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.

In light of the information pointed out to me via the Daily Beast article on yesterday, my only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT Community and to state unequivocally that I WILL NOT PERFORM FOR THE WELCOME CONCERT OR FOR ANY OF THE INAUGURATION FESTIVITIES!

I sincerely apologize for my lapse of judgement, for being uneducated on the issues that affect every American at this crucial time in history and for causing such dismay and heartbreak to my fans.

Please know that I HEAR YOU and I feel your pain. The LGBT Community was mostly responsible for birthing my career and I am deeply indebted to you… You have loved me faithfully and unconditionally and for so many years you provided me with work even though my star had long since faded.

Thank you for communicating with me, I had no idea that I still meant so much to all of you.
