Donald Trump Says Civil Rights Icon John Lewis “All Talk – No Action” On MLK Weekend

Civil rights lion Rep. John Lewis, who marched with Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma while Donald Trump was seeking deferments from Vietnam, told NBC News he will not be attending the inauguration of Donald Trump:

I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president… I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton. I don’t plan to attend the inauguration. It will be the first one I’ve missed since I’ve been in Congress. You cannot be at home with something that you feel is wrong, is not right.

Of course, Donald Trump took to Twitter to slap back at the civil rights icon, saying Lewis “all talk – no action.”

“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!” Trump wrote.

Trump’s attack follows the formula of his previous response to slights on the campaign trail, including questioning Sen. John McCain’s war record. His choice of a target this time – the man who marched and was beaten in the “Bloody Sunday” march in Selma while protesting for civil rights – provoked a sharp response among lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

Lewis’ Democratic allies leapt quickly to his defense. “@repjohnlewis is a hero and I’m lucky to call him a colleague. You sir are not half the man he is. @realDonaldTrump,” tweeted Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-Penn.). Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) tweeted: “John Lewis is an icon of the Civil Rights Movement who is fearless in the pursuit of justice and equality. He deserves better than this.”

Trump Had Paid Staffers Stand And Cheer At Press Conference

In case you missed it, here’s the full video of President-elect Donald Trump’s first press conference since the election.

Watching the event, I thought it was odd to hearing cheering (and jeering) during a couple of moments. It turns out Trump had paid staffers stand at the back of the room as a sort of “greek chorus” to provide moral and vocal support. #odd

It also appears that the only media outlet to receive a reserved seat was the white nationalist website, Breitbart, which close Trump advisor Steve Bannon ran for many years.

And then, of course, there was the very uncomfortable back and forth that occurred with CNN’s Jim Acosta which included Trump yelling, “I’m not going to give you a question. You’re fake news.”

Anderson Cooper’s Fiery Interview With Trump Advisor Kellyanne Conway

Don’t let the length of the clip fool you. This was quite riveting to watch.

Good on Anderson that he doesn’t back down. Make sure you watch to the end when he CONFIRMS that CNN never linked to the document dump or to Buzzfeed.

Conway is wrong, spinning for the Trumpers, and never acknowledges she’s wrong.

What’s clear is Team Trump has a huge chip on it’s shoulder that folks didn’t think he would win.

Near the end Conway asks why 8 years ago at this time CNN was reporting that President Obama was headed to Oslo to pick up a Nobel Peace Prize, but no one’s reporting that about Trump today.

Umm, maybe because Trump hasn’t won a Nobel Peace Prize???

Fox News Defends CNN: No Journalists Should Be ‘Belittled’ By A President

In a bit of surprise, Fox News’ Shep Smith issued a statement today on behalf of Fox News defending CNN for the report it posted last night regarding a collection of what appeared to be “opposition ammo” meant to possibly attack Donald Trump during the presidential campaign. The main point being that CNN’s reporting was “distinctly different” from BuzzFeed’s which drew Trump’s ire.

CNN’s story, unlike Buzzfeed’s, specifically did not include the unedited dossier of unverified allegations made about Trump’s ties to Russia. Nor did CNN include any “details” of the items from the report. Smith added that no journalists should be treated in the way Trump treated CNN’s Jim Acosta, who got into a brief contretemps with Trump today at the president-elect’s first press conference since last summer.

Trump refused to take any questions from Acosta today despite continued requests, and Acosta later shared that Trump’s press secretary threatened to have him thrown out of future press events if he continued to press the president-elect.

Here’s part of Smith’s statement today:

“President-elect Trump today told CNN’s Jim Acosta that his organization amounts to fake news. CNN’s exclusive reporting on the Russian matter was separate and distinctly different from the document dump executed by an online news property.

“Though we at FOX News cannot confirm CNN’s report, it is our observation that its correspondents followed journalistic standards and that neither they nor any other journalists should be subjected to belittling and delegitimizing by the President-elect of the United States.”

Donald Trump: Obamacare Will Be Repealed & Replaced “Essentially Simultaneously”

So now we know – President-elect Trump said at his press conference this morning that the repeal and replacement of Obamacare will be “essentially simultaneously.”

Rumors had been swirling that the “repeal” aspect would happen very soon after Trump’s swearing in as president, but there’s currently no plan that Congress agrees on for the “replacement” component.

Trump suggested today that the repeal and replacement could possibly take place within the “same hour.”

Is Donald Trump Germaphobic Or Not?

This morning President-elect brushed aside the recent allegations in an unverified report that suggested that during a visit to Moscow he rented a suite that he knew President and Mrs. Obama had stayed in. According to the unsubstantiated report, he allegedly paid Russian prostitutes to perform a “golden shower” show, in effect peeing all over the bed of the suite.

Referencing that anecdote, he finished the subject by saying it couldn’t have happened because he’s germaphobic.

However, in August 2015, he told The Hollywood Reporter – specifically – he was “not germaphobic.”

It’s said you are a germophobe. Will you kiss babies and shake hands on the trail?

I’m not germophobic. I do it. I want to make the country great, I’m going to win, I think I have a very good chance of winning. You probably are starting to feel that, too. I go through and shake hands and do what I have to do, and people like me and I like them. In Iowa, I must have shaken 2,000 hands — and those were only the ones that were next to me.

In related news, Penthouse Magazine has now offered $1 million to anyone who can provide any actual tapes that would corroborate the “golden shower” allegation.

Moby Agrees To DJ Trump Inauguration If Trump Releases Tax Returns

Moby, who a quick Google would have shown has previously described President-elect Donald Trump as an “actual psychopath”, has been asked to DJ at one of Trump’s inauguration balls.

Unlike every other artist Trump’s people have approached about performing at the 20 January event, Moby did say he would actually play…but only if Trump makes his tax returns public as payment.

“Hahahahaha, I was just asked by a booking agent if I would consider djing at one of the inaugural balls for #trump…,” Moby wrote on Instagram.

“Hahahahaha, wait, Hahahaha, really? I guess I’d DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns… So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?”

Kellyanne Conway Denies Trump Was Briefed On Russian Claims Of “Compromising” Intel On Him

The Hill is reporting tonight that Donald Trump senior advisor Kellyanne Conway is pushing back on reports that the President-elect was briefed on reports that Russia had collected a dossier of compromising information on hm.

CNN on Tuesday reported that the Intelligence Community briefed the president-elect and President Obama last week about the allegations by appending a two-page synopsis, based on memos written by a former British MI6 operative, to its larger report about Russian meddling in the election.

The dossier has reportedly been circulating through the intelligence community. The synopsis was reportedly included in part to show that Russia was partial to Trump over Hillary Clinton, choosing not releasing damaging information about him. Conway said late Tuesday that Trump was “not aware” of the two-page synopsis that was presented as an appendix to the main intelligence report.

The Daily Beast adds:

As an “American citizen” regardless of political party, Conway said, “we should be concerned that intelligence officials leak to the press and won’t go and tell the president-elect or the president of the United States himself now, Mr. Obama, what the information is. They’d rather go tell the press.”

At that point, Meyers cut her off, saying, “But the report was about them going to the president.” When she pushed back, he added, “I believe it said they did brief him on it.”

The first sentence of CNN’s report reads, “Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.”

“He has said he’s not aware of that,” Conway replied of her boss, to which Meyers said, “That concerns me.”

Russia Has “Compromising Personal And Financial” Information On Trump According To US Intel

No wonder he wouldn’t publicly criticize the Russian Government or Putin.

CNN reports:

Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.

The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. The allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible. The FBI is investigating the credibility and accuracy of these allegations, which are based primarily on information from Russian sources, but has not confirmed many essential details in the memos about Mr. Trump.

The classified briefings last week were presented by four of the senior-most US intelligence chiefs — Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, and NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers.

One reason the nation’s intelligence chiefs took the extraordinary step of including the synopsis in the briefing documents was to make the President-elect aware that such allegations involving him are circulating among intelligence agencies, senior members of Congress and other government officials in Washington, multiple sources tell CNN.

The piece of intel that has most of the internet buzzing regarded a visit by Trump to the Moscow Ritz Carlton, where he allegedly insisted on staying in the same suite where President and Mrs. Obama had stayed (whom he hated).

During the alleged hotel stay, Trump is said to have hired Russian prostitutes to “perform a ‘golden showers’ (urination) show.” According to the report, the suite – in fact the entire hotel – was geared with microphones and concealed cameras.

So, you can image, if true, what the Russians would have on Trump.
