I’m particularly looking forward to Bradley Cooper (above) in the biopic of bisexual music legend Leonard Bernstein – Maestro.The Advocate: Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the members of a new commission designed to advise the governor and others on affairs directly impacting the LGBTQ+ community. • Kenneth-in-the-212: Check out Kenneth’s round-up of the what’s what in LGBTQ publications this week including the “man’s best friend” issue of GLOSS Magazine. JoeMyGod: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has bragged that the power of his prayers have turned away hurricanes, apparently didn’t own a bible for his 2019 swearing-in. So, his staff ordered one on Amazon. • New York Times: Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, has died at the age of 93 due to complications of dementia. During her time on the high court, she was often referred to as “the most powerful woman in America.” https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1730608985269571733 • LGBTQ Nation: A freshman congressman asked a veteran of the Coast Guard if he thought “wokeness” was a cause for low recruitment. When Vice Admiral Peter W. Gautier said he didn’t see that, Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) inquired “How long have you been in, Admiral?” “37 years,” Gautier said. “With all due respect, I find that hard to believe,” Crane snarked. • In case you missed it: Yes, world-class fabulist George Santos was evicted expelled from Congress today.
