Screenwriter & Stars Of ‘Longtime Companion’ Revisit The Award-Winning Film

In that it’s World AIDS Day, I wanted to share this video chat with the screenwriter and cast members of the award-winning 1989 film, Longtime Companion. From the YouTube page:

To honor World AIDS Day 2023, GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics reunited Craig Lucas – screenwriter of the seminal AIDS-focused drama Longtime Companion – with stars Bruce Davison, Stephen Caffrey and Dermot Mulroney.

The four talk, sometimes through tears, about the classic 1989 film’s impact then and now, paying homage to late director Norman René throughout.

Moderators: GALECA members Jim Farmer and Juan Michael Porter II, Senior Editor at TheBody.com – the world’s leading resource for information about HIV and AIDS.

Plus, Lucas, Davison, Caffrey and Mulroney take questions from GALECA members Ariana Martinez and Nathaniel Rogers.

Really great chat. Hit play and enjoy. https://youtu.be/oqoTJr4_ozw?si=s5utsfUoCxWGFVOc
