Trump Twitter Rant: “13 Angry Democrats (Plus)”

Donald Trump on Thursday railed yet again today on Twitter regarding special counsel Robert Mueller’s team saying the investigations have shown bias against him.

None of that has been proven. This is called deflection. And those folks who are too weak or lazy to actually read real news believe it.

Trump called for a list of the group’s “many conflicts of interest” to be publicized. Mueller himself is a life-long Republican. He also revived his calls for “the server” which folks guess refers to Hillary Clinton’s email server that was turned over to authorities years ago.

Trump continues to push the theory that the FBI implanted a spy in his campaign even though Republican lawmakers who saw classified material on the FBI informant said they did not see evidence to support Trump’s claims.

Trump Twitter Rant: I Wish I’d Never Hired Jeff Sessions

Another day, another Twitter rant from Donald Trump.

On today’s menu: the Trumpster returns to an old favorite – “I wish I’d never hired Jeff Sessions as Attorney General.”

Ah yes, it’s an oldie but goodie.

Trump spun off several missives about Sessions’ recusal in the Russian interference investigation quoting outgoing Congressman Trey Gowdy:

“I don’t think so, I think what the President is doing is expressing frustration that Attorney General Sessions should have shared these reasons for recusal before he took the job, not afterward. If I were the President and I picked someone to be the country’s chief law enforcement officer, and they told me later, ‘oh by the way I’m not going to be able to participate in the most important case in the office, I would be frustrated too and that’s how I read that – Senator Sessions, why didn’t you tell me before I picked you……There are lots of really good lawyers in the country, he could have picked somebody else!” And I wish I did!

This is all probably related to a new report in The New York Times that shows Sessions traveled to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in March of 2017 thinking he was going to discuss his boss’ proposed travel ban.

Instead, Trump reportedly asked Sessions to reverse his decision to recuse himself on the Russian investigation so that the president would have a “loyalist” in the mix. Sessions declined.

By the way, Trump might be quoting Rep. Trey Gowdy here, but he’s ignoring Gowdy’s support for the FBI’s use of an informant in the ongoing Russian probe.

Outgoing Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), the House Oversight Committee Chairman and Trump supporter, said in an interview on Fox that the FBI was justified in using a secret informant to assist in the Russia investigation. Gowdy, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, attended a classified Justice Department briefing last week over the FBI’s use of the confidential source, identified as Stefan A. Halper.

“President Trump himself in the Comey memos said if anyone connected with my campaign was working with Russia, I want you to investigate it, and it sounds to me like that is exactly what the FBI did,” Gowdy told host Martha MacCallum. “I think when the president finds out what happened, he is going to be not just fine, he is going to be glad that we have an FBI that took seriously what they heard.”

Donald Trump Rants About “Young And Beautiful Lives” Destroyed By “Phony Witch Hunt”

Donald Trump has continued his wild and wacky Twitter rant all weekend long about the ongoing investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

From Politico:

“Who’s going to give back the young and beautiful lives (and others) that have been devastated and destroyed by the phony Russia Collusion Witch Hunt? They journeyed down to Washington, D.C., with stars in their eyes and wanting to help our nation. … They went back home in tatters,” the president wrote on Twitter.

Trump has repeatedly called special counsel Mueller’s probe a “witch hunt,” a charge that in recent weeks has been coupled with renewed calls from his allies to end the probe soon. Some House lawmakers have gone even further, arguing that reports stating a confidential FBI informant met with Trump campaign officials means the investigation is irrevocably tainted.

“With Spies, or “Informants” as the Democrats like to call them because it sounds less sinister (but it’s not), all over my campaign,” Trump wrote on Twitter on Saturday, “even from a very early date, why didn’t the crooked highest levels of the FBI or “Justice” contact me to tell me of the phony Russia problem?”

It’s unclear who Trump is referring to when he says individuals have “went back home in tatters.” A score of former campaign aides have reportedly met with Mueller’s team along with congressional investigators — racking up significant legal bills in the process.

It’s not exactly clear who the “young and beautiful” folks are that Trump is referring to.

The investigation isn’t exactly a “witch hunt” in that there have been at least five guilty pleas, including from former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, and former campaign aide Rick Gates.

It was Papadopoulos’ conversation with an Australian diplomat regarding “dirt” on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign that began the FBI’s original investigation into the president’s campaign that has become the Mueller probe.

And just for good measure, the Trumpster threw out some more deflection on Hillary Clinton:

Yesterday, Trump got angry that a New York Times report referenced “a senior White House official” as a source for a report. Trump wants his followers to believe that journalists make these things up, so he simply announced the “official” didn’t exist.

Except, the official does exist. And dozens of reporters were introduced to White House official Dan Pottinger who gave the briefing Trump references. The irony is that the White House press office insisted that briefing which hundreds of reporters heard be on background.

Reporter Yashar Ali tweeted the official’s name even though the briefing was done “on background” because Ali isn’t a White House reporter and not on the actual briefing conference call.

Trump Claims A Spy Infiltrated His Campaign

Harking back to his accusations that the Obama administration “wire-tapped” his Trump Tower phone lines, Donald Trump took to Twitter to rant to his followers about the “Criminal Deep State,” “Phony Collusion” and blah blah blah.

The Trumpster is annoyed at reports that an FBI informant made contact with the Trump campaign in 2016 as part of the federal investigation into Russian election meddling and ties to his team.

You know, that’s what the FBI does when they have credible evidence folks are working with foreign players to influence an election.

Former FBI director James Comey called Trump out as our leader “who will lie about anything:”

Trump Twitter Rant: “I Hereby Demand…”

Clearly whoever was supposed to supervise Donald Trump today was napping on-duty as the Cheeto-In-Chief went on an unhinged roller-coaster ride of a Twitter rant today.

Even by Trumpian standards, this was pretty much off-the-charts.

The rant was probably sparked by this report in the New York Times today about yet another meeting Don Trump Jr. took with foreign agents who wanted to help elect Trump.

Three months before the 2016 election, a small group gathered at Trump Tower to meet with Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son. One was an Israeli specialist in social media manipulation. Another was an emissary for two wealthy Arab princes. The third was a Republican donor with a controversial past in the Middle East as a private security contractor.

The meeting was convened primarily to offer help to the Trump team, and it forged relationships between the men and Trump insiders that would develop over the coming months — past the election and well into President Trump’s first year in office, according to several people with knowledge of their encounters.

Erik Prince, the private security contractor and the former head of Blackwater, arranged the meeting, which took place on Aug. 3, 2016. The emissary, George Nader, told Donald Trump Jr. that the princes who led Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were eager to help his father win election as president.

As we all know by now, it’s illegal for a political campaign to accept help or support from a foreign country.

Below, you can see Trump rages and attempts to deflect with call to investigate Hillary (again?).

It’s interesting that the Trumpster is suddenly worried about the cost of government spending describing the Special Counsel’s investigation as “soon to be $20,000,000. He doesn’t seem to have a problem spending over $3 million a trip to go play golf at Mar-A-Lago…?

The Donald also tries to assert that “no collusion” has been found when in truth, no one knows what Robert Mueller’s investigation has found yet.

Special Counsel’s don’t turn in quarterly or monthly reports. No one but Mueller and his team know what they have in evidence. And you can be sure they wouldn’t be continuing if there wasn’t a reason to do so.

However, if you repeat it often enough, weak-minded people will start to believe you. Like a bad used-car salesman…

What’s really rich is his final tweet (see below) where he states “I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes.”

He “hereby demands???”

FBI agents spoke to Trump campaign advisers George Papadopoulos and Carter Page about their communications with Russian actors. You know – that’s what the FBI does when they have evidence of treasonous activity.

Trump’s Monday Meltdown On Twitter

Another Monday, another Twitter meltdown by Cheeto in Chief Donald Trump.

This morning the Trumpster took aim at the ongoing Special Counsel investigation led by Robert Mueller. Pointing to the sad, half-hearted results of the GOP-led House Intelligence Committee’s investigation Trump proclaimed “No Collusion, Coordination or anything else with Russia!”

He also took a swipe at the “13 Democrats in charge of the Russian Witch Hunt” as he alluded to “unrevealed Conflicts of Interest!”

Of course, what he doesn’t mention is that Robert Mueller himself is a life-long Republican.

Also, still feeling the sting of supporting Republican loser Roy Moore down in the recent Alabama Senate race, Trump attacked former CEO Don Blankenship who’s running for the Republican Senate nomination in West Virginia.

Blankenship is a former coal CEO who went to jail after violating mining safety regulations and 29 coal workers died. Polls show Blankenship currently leading the GOP pack which could spell disaster for the Repubs trying to pick up a Democratic held Senate seat.

The Republican nominee will run against incumbent Sen. Joe Manchin, who has also served as governor of West Virginia.

Trump Threatens To “Get Involved” In Department Of Justice’s “Rigged System”

UPDATE – The Justice Department has officially said “no” to the Freedom Caucus’ request for the unredacted version of the DOJ memo to Robert Mueller.

Donald Trump began the day with yet another meltdown on Twitter with cries of “Witch Hunt!” and “Rigged System.”

His rant was centered on the dispute between conservative members of Congress and a memo from the Department of Justice that outlines the topics for investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

CNN has the details:

The House Republican duo targeting senior leaders at the Justice Department have a new demand for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein: They want to see an unredacted copy of the memo he sent to whom detailing the scope of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

The same lawmakers are also demanding a new disclosure from Attorney General Jeff Sessions: They want to know whether he was involved in the decision to raid the personal attorney of President Donald Trump, Michael Cohen, according to a letter sent last week.

The two new requests are the latest in a series of asks from Republican Reps. Mark Meadows of North Carolina and Jim Jordan of Ohio, the conservative Freedom Caucus lawmakers who say the Justice Department is stonewalling Congress and have suggested the department leaders could be on the “path to impeachment” if they won’t cooperate.

In a private meeting last month, Jordan and Meadows laid out their concerns to Rosenstein about what they believe has been a lackluster response by the Justice Department to the GOP’s request for documents. And one document request appeared to catch Rosenstein by surprise: the demand for the August memo laying out the scope of the Mueller probe, a document that was heavily redacted in recently unveiled court filings.

Rosenstein resisted the request by the GOP lawmakers to review an unredacted, or less redacted, version of the memo, according to Jordan.

Apparently, according to folks with knowledge of the document, the full memo includes which Trump associates are under investigation and for what.

At an event last night, Rosenstein told reporters “the Department of Justice is not going to be extorted.”

The Washington Post has reported that Meadows and the House Freedom Caucus have drafted articles of impeachment against Rosenstein as a “last resort.”

Trump’s Sunday Morning Meltdown Takes James Comey’s Book To #1

Donald Trump woke up this Sunday morning on a mission – to help James Comey sell as many books as possible when Comey’s memoir, A Higher Loyalty, is released on Tuesday.

From some tried-and-true “Crooked Hillarys” and a “Slimeball!” thrown in for good measure, Trump tried to create his own reality denying he ever asked Comey for his loyalty.

Since Trump now likes the phrase “Mission Accomplished!” so much, I’ll point out that his Twitter rant took Comey right to #1 on the Amazon book charts.

Trump Twitter Rant: It Was A “Great Honor” To Fire “Untruthful Slime Ball” James Comey

As excerpts from former FBI Director James Comey’s upcoming book A Higher Loyalty are hitting the media, the predictable Trump Twitter rant we’ve all expected has arrived.

And it’s everything you would expect from the Trumpster.

Of course, Trump labels Comey a “LEAKER & LIAR” but along the way Trump also accuses Comey of leaking classified information (not true) and that he lied to Congress (again, a big nope).

Trump really gets into the school yard dirt with a good old “untruthful slime ball” tag and proclaims it was a “great honor” to fire Comey from the FBI.

Ah, Donald, you really rose to the occasion here.

It’s worth noting that on the same day Trump issued his blistering “liar/leaker” attack on Comey, Trump actually pardoned a convicted liar/leaker, former Vice President Dick Cheney’s aide, Scooter Libby.

Trump Worries In Twitter Rant: “Attorney-Client Privilege Is Dead!”

Donald Trump was still in Twitter-rant mode this morning as he continued to rail about yesterday’s raid by the FBI on his personal lawyer’s office, home and hotel room.

Declarations of “Attorney–client privilege is dead!” and “A TOTAL WITCH HUNT!!!” flew from the Trumpster’s fingers even as the Twitterverse pointed out that attorney/client privilege does have limits.

If there’s evidence his lawyer, Michael Cohen, was aiding Trump in committing fraud, in the area of campaign finance for instance, attorney/client privilege becomes null and void.

It’s possible Trump had no idea that there are limits to attorney/client privilege.

Additionally, as I mentioned yesterday in my report on the raids, it is rare for the FBI to execute a search warrant on an attorney. For the FBI to have taken such extreme steps means they probably expected Cohen to be considering destroying evidence, but also had to convince a magistrate of that via hard evidence.

Plus, while Trump would like to believe this is all a partisan attack, folks were quick to point out that  the top decision-makers who have been involved in the ongoing Trump investigations have all been Republicans.
