Trump Rants At Reports He’s Hiring Clinton Impeachment Lawyer

For all his bravado of “no collusion” and pretending Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election will end “soon,” Donald Trump is looking to hire the lawyer who handled Bill Clinton’s impeachment proceedings.

Trump can’t be feeling all THAT confident.

From The New York Times:

The lawyer, Emmet T. Flood, met with Mr. Trump in the Oval Office this past week to discuss the possibility, according to the people. No final decision has been made, according to two of the people.

Should Mr. Flood come on board, the two people said, his main duties would be a day-to-day role helping the president navigate his dealings with the Justice Department.

Two people close to the president said that the overture to Mr. Flood did not indicate any new concerns about the inquiry. Still, it appears, at the least, to be an acknowledgment that the investigation is unlikely to end anytime soon.

Mr. Flood would not replace Ty Cobb, the White House lawyer who since the summer has taken the lead role in dealing with the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III. But Mr. Cobb has told friends for weeks that he views his position as temporary and does not expect to remain in the job for much longer.

And, of course, here comes the predictable Twitter rant from the Trumpster:

Now, the candidate Trump backed in the Alabama Senate race lost. A Republican LOST in Alabama. He doesn’t count a Senate race as part of “Congress?”

Trump Twitter Rant: I’m A “Very Stable Genius!”

Hoo-boy! What a way to wake up on a Saturday morning!

As the new book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House got an early release yesterday due to Donald Trump’s pumping up the interest in the explosive tome, folks began to focus on the book’s passages relating to possible mental deficiencies.

The Trumpster clearly has had enough of that kind of talk. Taking to Twitter this morning, he wrote:

Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence…..Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star…..to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius….and a very stable genius at that!

“StableGenius” immediately began trending on social media.

Tuesday’s Trump Twitter Rant

Donald Trump was fairly calm over Christmas Day, sending out a tweet wishing everyone a “great Christmas,” but added “tomorrow it’s back to work in order to Make America Great Again.”

But NBC News reports that Trump headed straight to his golf course this morning.

 “Back to work…”

The Trumpster also took time to take credit for the “repeal” of ObamaCare since the newly-signed tax reform legislation got rid of the Individual Mandate.

Of course, ObamaCare hasn’t been repealed as many components of the healthcare law are still in place like guaranteeing pre-existing conditions, the expansion of Medicaid and allowing young folks to stay on their parents’ insurance to the age of 26.

But, hey, facts are pesky things for the Donald.

Trump also clearly took time out to watch his favorite State propaganda news network, Fox News, where the hosts there must have discussed the “Dossier” calling it “bogus.”

Trumpy is wrong here too as several items in the dossier have been found to be true.

Trump Complains “Despite Only Negative Reporting, We Are Doing Well”

On Christmas Eve, Donald Trump took to Twitter to rant yet again about how he’s not getting enough credit for his “achievements” and how the media ignores how “Big” and “Strong” his “BASE” is.

The Fake News refuses to talk about how Big and how Strong our BASE is. They show Fake Polls just like they report Fake News. Despite only negative reporting, we are doing well – nobody is going to beat us. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

I’ll admit I don’t understand the odd, strange use of capital letters.

What doesn’t make any sense, however, is that the number one source of news for most Americans is (sadly) Fox News which trumpets and fawns over every poo-poo and burp President Cheeto eeks out.

So, if Fox News is constantly sharing glowing reviews of Trump’s work, how can he say there’s “only negative reporting?”

By the way, did I mention Trump’s approval rating per the Gallup Daily Tracking poll is a dismal 38%? It’s pretty much the same story over at the Real Clear Politics job approval average.

So. Much. Whining.
