• Playbill: Tony-winning stage (Nine) and screen (30 Rock) star Jane Krakowski will take over the title role in Broadway’s Oh, Mary! for an eight-week engagement. The show earned two 2025 Tony Awards: Lead Actor in a Play and Director of a Play.

• them: The state of Florida is now arresting people (4 so far) for using rainbow chalk on crosswalks. One man who walked across the Pulse memorial crosswalk with colored chalk on his shoes was charged with “defacing a traffic device,” but a judge ordered his release. • Gayety: Pedro Pascal is reportedly in negotiations to step into the lead role in Todd Haynes’ highly anticipated gay romance, De Noche, filling the void left by Joaquin Phoenix’s abrupt departure in August 2024 just days before filming was slated to begin.

• The Advocate: I highly recommend this interview with Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, who resigned from the CDC this week over Health Sec. Kennedy’s and Trump’s dismantling of vaccine policy. Federal Court Blocks Trump From Imposing Tariffs Under Emergency Powers Law

Update: Reuters reports a federal appeals court on Thursday reinstated most of Donald Trump’s tariffs, a day after a trade court ruled Trump had exceeded his authority in imposing the duties and had ordered an immediate block on them.

U.S. Stock Markets Continue Trump Tariff Decline

The S&P 500 continued its decline this morning, losing well over 2 percent, extending losses from yesterday’s Trump tariff sell-off. The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell about 3 percent and slipped into a bear market, Wall Street’s term for a decline of at least 20 percent from its latest peak.
