Anti-LGBTQ Group Asked To Pack Up Central Park Field Hospital

Franklin Graham (screen capture)
Virulently anti-LGBTQ evangelist Franklin Graham and his Samaritan’s Purse organization have been asked to shut down their Central Park tent hospital after attempting to spread their homophobic agenda. New York City officials asked Graham’s group to pack up and leave after it was revealed volunteers were forced to sign “statements of faith” denouncing same-sex relationships, comparing LGBTQ people to drug addicts and more. Volunteers who refused to sign the document were reportedly turned away. Originally, Mayor Bill de Blasio said he had received assurances the controversial group wouldn’t discriminate before granting permission to Samaritan’s Purse to set up the temporary facility in March. Those promises were apparently discarded soon after setting up the field hospital. In addition to requiring the “faith statements” to be signed, Pink News reported that a camera crew was brought in to shoot a highly publicized Easter service from the Central Park location.

And videos released by Samaritan’s Purse have shown Bible verses displayed on health care workers’ face masks and equipment. News outlets including the New York Times have reported on Samaritan’s Purse using medical emergencies in the past to bring aid victims of disasters while seeking to convert those same people. New York City council speaker Corey Johnson, who is gay, issued an official statement from the City Council saying, “It is time for Samaritan’s Purse to leave New York City.” “This group, which is led by the notoriously bigoted, hate-spewing Franklin Graham, came at a time when our city couldn’t in good conscience turn away any offer of help,” wrote Johnson. “That time has passed. Their continued presence here is an affront to our values of inclusion, and is painful for all New Yorkers who care deeply about the LGBTQ community.” “At the City Council, we are committed to supporting those workers and protecting our city’s public health,” he added. “But as a city that values diversity and compassion for all, we cannot continue to allow a group with the track record of Samaritan’s Purse to remain here when we are past the point they are needed.” Noting that Graham has called the LGBTQ community “detestable,” “immoral,” and “an affront to God,” Johnson called for Mount Sinai the end its relationship with the organization The Speaker ended his statement saying, “Hate has no place in our beautiful city.” CBSN New York reports Mount Sinai Hospital and Samaritan’s Purse issued a joint statement saying the tent hospital was packing up. “Now that the surge in COVID hospital admissions is reaching manageable levels, we will stop admitting new patients to the Central Park field hospital as of May 4,” said a Mount Sinai spokesperson on Saturday. ….and stay out!

Earlier last week, he spoke of 60,000 to 70,000 deaths. During a Fox News town hall Friday night, Trump shifted his estimates to perhaps 100,000. Franklin Graham: I Spoke To Chick-Fil-A CEO And They Haven’t Changed

Chick-Fil-A

Fast-food chain Chick-fil-A recently announced a shift in its charitable donations clearly intended to stave protests by LGBTQ activists and allies who have brought much-unwanted attention to the restaurant’s support of anti-LGBTQ organizations like the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. But homophobic evangelist Franklin Graham posted a message on his Facebook page saying he’s spoken to the company’s CEO who he claims promised: “they haven’t changed.”

“Has Chick-fil-A caved? Some are saying they’ve rolled over, that they’ve conceded to the LGBTQ protests because they released a statement about their charitable giving. They announced that in 2020 they’re giving to fight hunger and homelessness and support education. What’s wrong with that?

“I picked up the phone and called Dan Cathy. Dan was very clear that they have not bowed down to anyone’s demands, including the LGBTQ community. They will continue to support whoever they want to support. They haven’t changed who they are or what they believe. Chick-fil-A remains committed to Christian values. Dan Cathy assured me that this isn’t going to change. I hope all those who jumped to the wrong conclusion about them read this.

“In my opinion, the gay movement wouldn’t ever be happy with Chick-fil-A unless they were open on Sunday, gave all of their charitable donations to LGBTQ organizations, and flew the rainbow flag over their stores! Their hatred for Chick-fil-A is rooted in founder Truett Cathy’s strong stand for biblical ‘traditional’ values and his desire to honor God.

“No fast food chain does a better job. I went through the drive-thru at Chick-fil-A yesterday morning, and I thought I might get dinner there — but a whole lot of other people had the same idea! A Chick-fil-A sandwich with waffle fries sounds really good right now!”

Franklin Graham: “Gay Pride Flag Is Offensive To Christians”

Homophobe Franklin Graham celebrated on his Facebook page the news that the Trump administration is rejecting requests from US embassies to fly the Pride flag during Pride Month.
Franklin Graham

Homophobe Franklin Graham celebrated on his Facebook page the news that the Trump administration is rejecting requests from US embassies to fly the Pride flag during Pride Month.

“I want to thank President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for making the decision not to fly the gay flag over our embassies during June in recognition of gay pride month. That is the right decision.

“The only flag that should fly over our embassies is the flag of the United States of America.

“The gay pride flag is offensive to Christians and millions of people of other faiths, not only in this country but around the world. The U.S. flag represents our nation—everyone—regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.”

What a dick.

Evangelist Calls On Mayor Pete Buttigieg To ‘Repent’ For Being Gay, Twitterverse Claps Back

Franklin Graham

Hypocrisy much?

Evangelist Franklin Graham tweeted on Wednesday an attack on Democratic White House hopeful Mayor Pete Buttigieg for being gay and being in a same-sex marriage.

Graham took Buttigieg to task for being openly gay which the evangelist said was something the South Bend mayor should “be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised, or politicized.”

“The Bible says marriage is between a man & a woman—not two men, not two women,” added Graham. “The core of the Christian faith is believing and following Jesus Christ, who God sent to be the Savior of the world—to save us from sin, to save us from hell, to save us from eternal damnation.”

Graham has also called Melania Trump, who worked as a (sometimes nude) model in her time before the White House, as the “classiest First Lady our country has ever had.”

Buttigieg, who is a practicing Episcopalian, has been open about his religious beliefs. At a CNN town hall on Monday, he told the crowd he’s a proud gay Christian and feels that “God doesn’t have a political party.”

Buttigieg has also called out evangelical leaders who spew anti-LGBTQ policies.

During an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, he said “I don’t have a problem with religion, I’m religious, too.”

He quickly added, “I have a problem with religion being used as justification to harm people.”

The 37-year-old has also pointed out the hypocrisy of evangelicals who have turned a blind eye to Donald Trump’s multitudinous lies and his alleged affair with porn star, Stormy Daniels.

Buttigieg isn’t the only one who sees hypocrisy in action.

The Twitterverse was quick to respond to Graham.

Franklin Graham: We Don’t Care About Trump’s Affair With Porn Star

Franklin Graham

Evangelist Franklin Graham, son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, says the country “knew the kind of person” Donald Trump was when he was elected president.

Via OneNewsNow:

“I don’t have concern, in a sense, because these things happened many years ago – and there’s such bigger problems in front of us as a nation that we need to be dealing with than other things in his life a long time ago. I think some of these things – that’s for him and his wife to deal with. I think when the country went after President Clinton, the Republicans, that was a great mistake that should never have happened. And I think this thing with Stormy Daniels and so forth is nobody’s business. And we’ve got other business at hand that we need to deal with.”

“On this thing with Stormy Daniels and so forth: This stuff happened 12 years ago. This isn’t behavior that has taken place since he’s been president. These things happened long before he became president. That doesn’t make it right. And I don’t defend those kinds of relationships he had. But the country knew the kind of person he was back then, and they still made the decision to make him the president of the United States.”

So, Trump’s lying today about an affair that happened 12 years ago means he should get a pass…?

Franklin Graham Denounces Proposed Ban On “Ex-Gay” Therapy – “Homosexuality Is An Abomination”

Franklin Graham

In a post on his Facebook page, Franklin Graham denounced Democratic lawmakers for proposing a federal ban on so-called “ex-gay therapy.”

Along the way, reasserts that “homosexuality is an abomination,” and that gays are born “imperfect.”

“Now Democrats are proposing a bill to ban conversion therapy in the United States, saying that LGBTQ people were born perfect. Actually, they are very misled. We were all born imperfect, with sinful natures — yet loved by God who offers us forgiveness and wholeness through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

“Homosexuality is defined by God as sin, an abomination to Him. There’s one ‘conversion therapy’ that works for all sin, and that is asking Jesus Christ to come into our hearts. He can transform and heal our lives, making us new. The Bible tells us, ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come’ (2 Cor. 5:17).”

Congressman Ted Lieu introduced The Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act of 2017 this week.

At the time he told the Washington Post:

“The bill is very simple. It says it is fraud if you treat someone for a condition that doesn’t exist and there’s no medical condition known as being gay.

“LGBTQ people were born perfect; there is nothing to treat them for. And by calling this what it should be, which is fraud, it would effectively shut down most of the organizations.”

“Ex-gay therapy,” also known as “reparative therapy” has been decried by dozens of medical professional organizations, and has been proved to harmful, akin to torture.

I don’t know about being “perfect,” but…
