Huffington Post Moves Donald Trump Coverage To Entertainment Page

Calling Donald Trump’s presidential campaign a “sideshow,” the Huffington Post announced today that coverage of his campaign would continue on the site, but only on the Entertainment page:

After watching and listening to Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president, we have decided we won’t report on Trump’s campaign as part of The Huffington Post’s political coverage.

Instead, we will cover his campaign as part of our Entertainment section. Our reason is simple: Trump’s campaign is a sideshow. We won’t take the bait.

If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you’ll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.

Poll: Trump Tops GOP Hopefuls But Fares Worst Against Hillary Clinton

There’s good and bad news for Donald Trump in the latest USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll.

While Trump has surged 6 points since the June poll, putting him on top of the current field of GOP presidential hopefuls, the survey also shows that he is the weakest competitor in regard to Democrat Hillary Clinton.

In a hypothetical matchup, Trump loses to Clinton by 17 points (51%-34%), while former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush trails by only four points nationwide, 46%-42%.

The other five top GOP contenders also do better than Trump with Sen. Marco Rubio trailing Clinton by 6 points; former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee by 8 points; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker by 9 points; Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul by 10 points; and neurosurgeon Ben Carson by 13 points.

Poll results also show Trump has a huge deficit in term of unfavorable/favorable impression – 61% of those surveyed have an unfavorable impression of him, 23% hold a favorable one. That means a net-negative rating of 38 points. Jeb Bush’s favorable-unfavorable rating is 35%-42%.

USA TODAY’s Susan Page also notes that while many of the other Republicans in the race are still introducing themselves to the American people, Trump’s name recognition is already high. This indicates that he may not have much more room to rise in the polls.

Donald Trump Tweets Campaign Ad Featuring Nazi Soldiers On American Flag

Earlier today, Donald Trump tweeted out the above image, then quickly deleted it when it became apparent the image of soldiers featured in the corner are Nazi soldiers.

From Mediate:

The lead soldier with the camo uniform in the now-deleted tweet is very obviously wearing a Waffen-SS uniform. For those who skipped history class, the SS were basically the worst kind of Nazis there were.

CNN’s MJ Lee reports that the Trump campaign claims “an intern accidentally posted questionable photo” and apologized. Meanwhile Mother Jones managed to track down the original image used in Trump’s tweet, and confirmed that the soldiers are Nazis.

See tweet below showing the original image incorporated into campaign image.

Now, if Trump can’t oversee a campaign team, HOW is he going to lead the United States?

New Poll Shows Donald Trump Leads 2016 GOP White House Hopefuls

This has got to be killing all the more “mainstream” Republican contenders for the 2016 GOP nomination for president.

A new Economist/YouGov poll shows Donald Trump LEADING the pack. Trump is currently getting 15% of registered Republican voters compared to Jeb Bush’s 11%.

And it’s even better for Trump when you through in the “second choice” votes where he also leads Bush (12% v. 7%).

Yesterday, reports were circulating that Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus has reached out to Trump begging him to dial it down a bit, as Trump is sucking up “all the oxygen in the room” and none of his guys are getting any attention.

The GOP klown kar just gets “klownier.”

Another Company Dumps Trump – Perfumania “Winding Down” Business With The Donald

Another large company has decided to end it’s business dealing with Donald Trump as his controversial campaign statements continue to inflame customers and voters.

From Forbes:

It hasn’t been a great few weeks for Brand Trump. In recent days, companies and groups including Macy’s, NBC, Nascar, Serta, the PGA and clothing manufacturer PVH PVH +0.99% Corp. have all cut ties with The Donald following his controversial comments on Mexican immigrants.

Now, the country’s largest fragrance retailer has decided to stop working with the Republican presidential candidate following days of internal discussions.

“Perfumania is winding down its retail business with the Trump fragrance brand,” said a spokesperson for the Bellport, NY-based firm.

The publicly-listed company, best known for its mall stores, had marketed two separate scents inspired by the real estate mogul: Success by Trump, which retails at $49.60 for a 3.4 oz eau de toilette, and Empire by Trump.
