Judge Sends Racist, Bestiality Email About Obama – Says He’s Not Racist

A federal judge, Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull from Montana, admitted sending a racist and bestiality-laden email about President Barack Obama and his mother.

He says he’s not a racist, and adds that he sent it because he is not a fan of the President.

The email compares African-Americans to dogs, or, alternatively, suggests President Obama’s mother had sexual intercourse with a dog, reads:

“Normally I don’t send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.

“A little boy said to his mother; ‘Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?’” the e-mail joke reads. “His mother replied, ‘Don’t even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!’”

Judge Cebull did not write it but forwarded it.

Judge Cebull gave this explanation to John S. Adams of the Great Falls Tribune, who broke the story:
“The only reason I can explain it to you is I am not a fan of our president, but this goes beyond not being a fan,” Cebull said. “I didn’t send it as racist, although that’s what it is. I sent it out because it’s anti-Obama.”

It’s one thing to criticize President Obama’s policies or leadership or even his character. But to insult his mother and equate interracial sex with bestiality? SRSLY? And this from a federal judge…

Sad.

Tennessee principal who told gay students they “were going to hell” resigns

Dorothy Bond

The Tennessee high school principal who reportedly told students during an assembly that gay students were going to hell, has resigned.

Haywood County High School Principal Dorothy Bond has resigned, according to the school system’s law firm, reported the Jackson Sun.

In a statement released through Purcell, Sellers & Craig, Inc., the school system said:

“The Haywood County Board of Education acknowledges its student body’s right to free speech. Further, the Haywood County Board of Education strives to provide an atmosphere of tolerance and diversity while maintaining high academic standards.”

Bond allegedly singled out LGBT and pregnant students during a meeting with students, and said, “If you’re gay you’re going to hell and if you’re pregnant, your life is over,” reported WPTY-TV in Memphis.

Since the story broke earlier today, more than 5,000 people signed an HRC petition calling on the Haywood County School District to investigate the allegations.

Think about this folks.  Imagine YOUR child attending a school where the principal told them they were “going to hell” or “your life is over.”

Imagine.

11th Circuit Court of Appeals rejects former CDC employee’s claim of discrimination

A federal appeals court has rejected arguments from a former counselor at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who claims her religious rights were violated because she was fired for refusing to counsel a gay woman.

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday upheld a judge’s decision to dismiss Marcia Walden’s lawsuit against the CDC.

Walden worked as a contractor for the CDC in 2007 when a woman came to her for advice involving a same-sex relationship. She was let go after she told the woman she couldn’t help because her “personal values” as a devout Christian prevented her from offering any assistance.

Walden said her firing was a result of religious discrimination, but the three-judge panel said it was not persuaded by her arguments.

New mayor of Troy, Michigan not happy “queers” can marry

Janice Daniels, recently elected mayor of Troy, Michigan, is catching flack for a recently uncovered Facebook status update she wrote back in June after marriage equality was passed in New York.

On her Facebook page, Daniels’ wrote: “I think I am going to throw away my I Love New York carrying bag now that queers can get married there.”

Daniels confirmed today that she did post the message, though she said she decided against ditching the bag.

“I may have said something like that,” she said. “I probably shouldn’t have used that kind of language, but I do believe marriage should be between one man and one woman.”

Daniels added that while she’s opposed to gay marriage, and has moral issues with homosexuality, she doesn’t hate gay people. “I love all people. I am human. That was probably a poor choice of words.”

I have to ask: “probably a poor choice of words?” PROBABLY?  And I’m sure when she wrote the word ‘queers’ she meant it in the best way possible.

The Facebook post has since been removed.

Gay rights leaders in Michigan said Daniels’ words amounted to hate speech. Denise Brogan-Kator, executive director of Equality Michigan, said on her own Facebook page: “I find it discouraging that a leader of people can have such disregard for the lives of people she serves.”

UPDATE: Mayor Daniels was confronted before a City Council Meeting. Watch the video of her explanation. She says she used “one word” that people don’t like. “One word.”

I’d be curious to know if she had used the n-word in regards to African Americans would she expect to be ‘forgiven’ so quickly?

Also, note the strange smile she has while explaining herself. It strikes me as a bit odd. Why smile when this is clearly an issue of importance to your constituents?

Are you kidding me??? David Tyree for discrimination

This has to fall under the heading “are you kidding me???”

Giants 2007 Super Bowl hero David Tyree said he’d trade “The Catch” and the team’s championship to keep marriage between one man and one woman.

“The catch was a gift, it’s not like I’d try to do it. I couldn’t do it again so that was a miracle,” he said. “There’s nothing worth more than [maintaining heterosexual marriage] right here for me.”

Asked if he’d give up the Super Bowl to stop gay marriage, Tyree said: “Honestly, I probably would.”

He said last week gay marriage would lead to anarchy. Today, he said, the morality of a country is defined by its law.

Ironically, this comes almost 44 years after laws against interracial marriage were struck down.  SRSLY.

Blake Shelton – anti-gay tweet

Blake Shelton is getting a lot of heat today for what might have been “drunk-tweeting” or something.

Lots of web activity around this.  What on earth would make him tweet this out of the blue?

And what will the producers at The Voice do?  Not a great move for the early stages of The Voice.

And btw – why do all straight men ASSUME they have a “behind” worth touching?

UPDATE: Blake Shelton apologizes for tweeting anti-gay message

After further correspondence, he eventually tweeted this message in opposition of anti-LGBT violence:

“Miss New Mexico doesn’t believe in GLBT rights”

Apparently, Miss New Mexico isn’t all that “enchanted” with the New Mexico LGBT community.

According to Jesse Lopez, president of Albuquerque Pride, the current Miss New Mexico, Madison Tabet, agreed to perform at the upcoming “Outstanding Awards” show to be held on March 11th.

But this past week a rep from the statewide Miss New Mexico offices called with bad news. “The conversation, like I said, was pretty heartbreaking when she said Miss New Mexico doesn’t believe in GLBT rights. So it was an emotional day for me yesterday,” said Lopez.

When a reporter from KOB Eyewitness News 4 called the Miss New Mexico offices for confirmation, Carol Henry, the statewide Executive Director of Miss New Mexico, said that was a personal question she wasn’t willing to answer.

Mr. Lopez showed KOB Eyewitness News 4 documented proof that Tabet had agreed to the appearance through Facebook, email and phone call discussions.

The story at this point seems to be that Ms. Tabet has another appearance scheduled for that night.

Ms. Tabet, unfortunately, was not a finalist during her national pageant.  Nor was she voted Miss Congeniality or honored with a Quality of Life Award at her national pageant.

Miss New Mexico 2009 Nicole Miner, who placed in the top 7 at her national pageant, will take part in the Outstanding Awards show.
