Just two days after she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) told the audience at the Texas Tribune Festival that her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney (R), will also be voting for Harris. The younger Cheney, one of Donald Trump’s most prominent conservative critics, also said she was supporting Democratic Rep. Colin Allred for Senate in Texas over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). “We need people who are going to serve in good faith,” Cheney said. “We people who are honorable public servants, and in this race, that is Colin Allred, so I’ll be working on his behalf.” More than 200 Republicans who worked for both Bush presidents, Sen. Mitt Romney and the late Sen. John McCain announced that they are backing Harris.
