Librarian Fired Over LGBTQ Books + Jaden Ivey Cut For Homophobic Rant + More

Some news stories I thought worth your time:

The Advocate: A Tennessee library board voted to fire its director after she refused to remove more than 100 LGBTQ books from the system’s shelves, capping weeks of escalating tension over censorship, access, and reader privacy.

Outsports: Chicago Bulls guard Jaden Ivey was cut from the team for “conduct detrimental to the team” following his anti-gay social media posts attacking Pride. #Good

LGBTQ Nation: Right-wing broadcaster Kai Schwemmer, recently installed as political director of the College Republicans of America, says gay men take over gyms to spread AIDS. I just can’t with this bs….

CNBC: A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to halt construction of a $400M White House ballroom saying no law “comes close” to giving Trump legal authority to build such a structure without authorization by Congress. And there you have it…

NBC News: The Army announced the pilots of two helicopters who flew by Kid Rock’s house over the weekend were suspended and there would be an investigation. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth quickly reversed that decision writing on X, “Pilots suspension LIFTED. No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots.”

AP News: Donald Trump has signed an executive order to create a nationwide list of verified eligible voters and to restrict mail-in voting. The order clearly violates the Constitution by attempting to seize the power to run elections from states.
