Joe Biden: Trump Is “A Joke” And Has “Difficulty With Precision”

In very clear terms, former Vice President Joe Biden told CNN’s Chris Cuomo this afternoon exactly what he thinks about Donald Trump:

“This is the first president to make a full-throated, unvarnished attack on the entirety of the FBI. This is to discredit the FBI and discredit his own Justice Department.

You know, look, I spent a lot of time traveling around the world. What do you think they’re thinking in Moscow? This is doing everything that Putin ever wanted, sowing doubt about whether or not our justice system is fair, sowing doubt about whether or not there is anything that’s remotely consistent with our Constitution.

It’s just — it’s a disaster.”

Biden also suggested that Trump would not fare well in an interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller which could open him up to being caught misleading investigators.

“The President has some difficulty with precision,” Biden told Cuomo.

More from CNN:

Biden said he marvels at some of the comments Trump makes and referenced a line from Trump on Monday that Democrats who did not applaud his State of the Union address were “un-American” and “treasonous.”

The White House has since called the remark tongue-in-cheek, with press secretary Sarah Sanders saying on Tuesday that Trump was “clearly joking.”

“Well let me tell you, he’s a joke,” Biden said in response.

• Even more women have come forward accusing sexual assault/misconduct by GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

• In related Roy Moore news, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is floating the idea of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who used to hold the senate seat in Alabama, being a write-in candidate in next month’s election in an attempt to keep Moore out of the U.S. Senate. I wonder how Jeff Sessions feels about that?

Joe Biden: Americans Must Denounce Hate Groups Since Trump Won’t Do It

Former Vice President Joe Biden

In an essay for The Atlantic, former Vice President Joe Biden calls on Americans to do what the current president will not: uphold American values by clearly denouncing hate groups.

An excerpt:

We have fought this battle before—but today we have a special challenge.

Today we have an American president who has publicly proclaimed a moral equivalency between neo-Nazis and Klansmen and those who would oppose their venom and hate.

We have an American president who has emboldened white supremacists with messages of comfort and support.

This is a moment for this nation to declare what the president can’t with any clarity, consistency, or conviction: There is no place for these hate groups in America. Hatred of blacks, Jews, immigrants — all who are seen as “the other” — won’t be accepted or tolerated or given safe harbor anywhere in this nation.

[snip]

A week after Charlottesville, in Boston, we saw the truth of America: Those with the courage to oppose hate far outnumber those who promote it.

Then a week after Boston, we saw the truth of this president: He won’t stop. His contempt for the U.S. Constitution and willingness to divide this nation knows no bounds. Now he’s pardoned a law-enforcement official who terrorized the Latino community, violated its constitutional rights, defied a federal court order to stop, and ran a prison system so rife with torture and abuse he himself called it a “concentration camp.”

Biden To LGBT Community: Hold Trump Accountable On His Promise To Be Your Friend

Vice President Joe Biden

Speaking at a private LGBT gala hosted by the Democratic National Committee in New York, former Vice President Joe Biden urged the LGBT community to push back against the Trump administration.

“Hold President Trump accountable for his pledge to be your friend. Just because you don’t have Barack and me in the White House doesn’t mean it’s time to give up, keep quiet, stay on the sidelines.”

Biden really got going, though, when he fiercely denounced that there is “no justification” for inhumane treatment of LGBTQ community in other nations. “None, none, none.”

Joe Biden Officiates DNC Staffer’s Wedding

Over the weekend, former Vice President Joe Biden officiated the wedding of Henry Muñoz, the Finance Chair for the Democratic National Committee, and his husband Kyle Ferari.

Actress Melanie Griffith captured the moment for Instagrammers with the caption, “My dearest friends Henry Munoz and Kyle Ferari were married today by VP Joe Biden. Wishing them everlasting love and a joyous life journey!”

This isn’t the first time Biden has officiated a same-sex wedding. You may recall last August genial Joe married White House staffers Brian Mosteller and Joe Mahshie.

Biden shared the happy news on Twitter at the time, writing, “Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn’t be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys.”

Joe Biden Surprised With Medal Of Freedom By President Obama

The Medal of Freedom is our country’s highest honor given to civilians.

Truly moving when you know that most presidents and vice-presidents don’t end their runs this close.

I really encourage to you watch the entire video. We don’t get to enjoy the upside of politics very often, it seems. And I find this truly uplifting to celebrate a long, outstanding life in service to our country.

VP Joe Biden Officiates His First Wedding

A new first for Vice President Joe Biden as he officiated his first wedding yesterday – and it was a same-sex marriage.

Longtime White House staffers, Brian Mosteller and Joe Mahshie, were married by the VP at the Naval Observatory on Monday, his office said. The ceremony was apparently a small affair with only the grooms families attending.

Interesting to note that while mayors and city council members in cities across the nation can marry couples, according to sources Joe had to get a temporary certification from the District of Columbia to preside over the wedding ceremony.

Typically when a politician leaves a speech, reporters shout out questions and they don't get answered. Not today. When CBS11's Jack Fink asked Vice President Joe Biden about vetting Syrian refugees entering the United States, Biden gave him a minute-long answer.
