Grace and Gratitude Renewed – Olivia Newton-John

So it was a year ago this month that Olivia Newton-John released her fantastic CD “Grace and Gratitude Renewed” to critical acclaim. On top of everything else she’s done in her career – one of the longest recording charting artists in the history of Billboard Magazine – she debuted at #2 of the New Age Billboard chart which was a completely new chart for her music. And we’re talking a 40+ year music career. I honestly love this CD. As many Randy Report readers know, these songs accompanied me through my own personal cancer journey. The songs, on a daily basis, reminded me to love myself and to think in a broader global view. If you have not discovered this fantastic collection of songs, I invite you to hit the link and take a listen. Don’t let the “new age” label fool you. In a different day, many of these songs could have been radio hits. I hope you take a minute to explore. Whether it’s a peaceful Sunday morning, or quiet evening at home, these songs really help you to center, peace out and reflect. Click here to find more on Grace and Gratitude Renewed on Amazon.com

Olivia working on limited edition T-Shirt for cancer awareness

Olivia Newton-John and friend Yvette Nipar, who owns BeSoDoSo T-Shirts, are collaborating on a limited edition t-shirt for cancer awareness with proceeds to benefit the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre.

About BeSoDoSo (from Yvette): “This started with me wanting to make any bit of a difference that I could.”

“I knew I was doing the right thing when the owner of one of my stores called
& said “A women going through treatment for Breast Cancer just bought all of the
“Attitude is everything” shirts to share with her fellow fighters”! And when I was
told that “Don’t let fear stop you” was pivotal in helping an actress who had all but left the business, go for it one more time, & now works constantly.”

“Be So Do So’s designs/sayings are not mass produced; I like it like that.”

More details to come.

Sally Field lists her Malibu home – formerly owned by Olivia Newton-John

(Normally, I wouldn’t post something like this thinking it was intrusive, but since this was featured on the Realtor.com blog, I’m assuming Sally Field has no problem with it.  As a Realtor myself, perhaps I’ll be helping her sell the home faster.)

Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field has listed her Malibu, CA home for $5.9 million.

This 5 bedroom, 6 bath, 5,964-square foot home on 3.06 acres was built in 1958 and boasts hill and mountain views. This horse property also has four parking spaces, a tennis court, a swimming pool, basement, den, office space and a guest house.

The home, which was formerly owned by Olivia Newton John, is a short drive from the Pacific. It overlooks Tuna Canyon Park and is right around the corner from the famous celeb rehab center Promises.

Field nabbed her pair of Oscars for her turns in “Norma Rae” (1980) and “Places in the Heart” (1985). She also won three Emmy Awards for her performances in “Brothers & Sisters”(2007),” “ER” (2001) and “Sybil” (1977).

“It’s My Party” movie trailer

When Michael was still VP of Publicity at Varese Sarabande Records, the soundtrack to this film came to the label and Michael pushed the label to release the soundtrack to this excellent indie movie by Randal Kleiser.
It’s very touching and has an amazing all-star cast including Eric Roberts, Gregory Harrison, Olivia Newton-John, George Segal, Bruce Davison, Marlee Matlin and Lee Grant. I never saw the movie trailer until today.

It’s a beautiful movie, and a beautiful soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. I used to play the soundtrack all the time. Thoughtful, sensitive and perfect for the film it’s written for.

Synopsis: Eric Roberts portrays a successful architect who throws a farewell party for friends and family after he learns he is losing his hard-fought battle against the AIDS virus in this vibrant film that co-stars Gregory Harrison.

A bad ass Olivia Newton-John in “A Few Best Men” trailer

The trailer for Olivia Newton-John’s upcoming movie “A Few Best Men” – directed by Stephan Elliott (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) and also starring Xavier Samuel (Twilight) – was released and this certainly isn’t ‘Sandy’ from “GREASE.”

Olivia literally swings from the chandeliers and slams a bedroom door to do a few lines of cocaine in a funny bit.

From the producers of “Death at a Funeral,” the film is about a groom and his three best men who come from the UK to Australia for his wedding. It’s the Aussie answer to “The Hangover” and “Bridesmaids” (and happens to feature “Bridesmaids” scene-stealer Rebel Wilson too).

You can see screen captures of from the trailer below.

Happy birthday Olivia Newton-John

For your entertainment, the entire uncut finale of her cult movie “Xanadu”

As many of you know, I’m not only a fan, but I count Olivia as a dear friend.  Like a fine wine, she only gets better with age.

At 63, she continues to make fantastic music, campaign to save the environment and is helping to build the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Australia.

Bravo!

Ruth Buzzi wishes Olivia Newton-John “Happy Birthday”

In addition to being a comic legend, well respected by her peers and clearly an upbeat positive woman, Ruth Buzzi continually has one of the most fun Twitter accounts to follow.

If you don’t follow her yet – start.  She has some great stuff – sometimes funny, sometimes just plain positive.
