Trailer: Netflix’s All-New “Queer Eye” Reboot

Early 2000s reality hit TV series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is back with a new Fab 5 and some very tough missions.

The Emmy Award-winning show is back (this time on Netflix) and ready to make America fabulous again.

The new trailer announces, “The original show was fighting for tolerance, our fight is for acceptance.”

From 2003-2007, Bravo hosted the groundbreaking original edition starring Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez. Over the course of several seasons, the team of gays applied their cultural know-how to help make-over the lives of straight men

The new incarnation of Queer Eye stars Bobby Berk (Design), Karamo Brown (Culture), Tan France (Fashion), Antoni Porowski (Food) and Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming).

According to Netflix, “Our new Fab Five will forge relationships with men and women from a wide array of backgrounds and beliefs often contrary to their own, touching on everything from LGBTQ rights and social commentary to how to make the best farm-to-table guacamole and more!”

February 7 is the drop date for Netflix to release all-new episodes.

The monthly series, consisting of one-hour chats, has announced six episodes thus far.

Future guests include George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey and Howard Stern.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, each episode will focus on just one guest with Letterman engaging in in-depth chat. Additionally, the show will have field segments also related to that installment’s guest.

Season 4 “Grace And Frankie” Trailer Features Lisa Kudrow Joining The Cast

The new trailer for the upcoming Season 4 of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie features the terrific Lisa Kudrow joining the antics of the award-winning series as Grace’s long-time manicurist.

I’m definitely getting a warm and fuzzy “Phoebe” vibe from Kudrow here, and that’s a good thing 🙂

Showrunner Marta Kauffman shared recently that the new season will address the women facing the issue of aging.

“[Season four will] really be about the women coming to terms with age, coming to terms with how old they are, where their bodies are at this point, where their minds are at this point and what does that imply, what does that mean?” Kauffman said during an ATX Television Festival panel in June, according to Deadline.

Also in the trailer: Grace has trouble coping with a “crap knee;” Sol and Robert may have hit a rough patch; water damage in the ladies home; and the vibrator business continues.

Grace and Frankie returns January 19 on Netflix.

Netflix Will Not Be Involved With Any Further ‘House of Cards’ That Includes Kevin Spacey

First came the allegations of sexual aggression by Kevin Spacey.

Then, Netflix announced that the sixth season of House of Cards would be the last, adding that the decision had been made months ago.

Then, Netflix abruptly stopped production on that sixth season of House of Cards.

Now, Netflix says the streaming network will not be associated with any House of Cards that includes Spacey.

Via Variety:

“Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey,” a spokesman for Netflix said in a statement. “We will continue to work with MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show.”

Production on the sixth season of “House of Cards” was suspended Tuesday following a Buzzfeed report that accused Spacey of assaulting actor Anthony Rapp in 1986 when the “Star Trek: Discovery” actor was 14 years old.

On Thursday, Spacey was dropped by CAA and his longtime publicist, Staci Wolfe. On Friday, Scotland Yard opened an investigation into the veteran actor in response to an allegation that he sexually assaulted a male thesp in London.

As Variety exclusively reported, Netflix is mulling a “House of Cards” spinoff in an attempt to save its flagship series.

Additionally, the Gore Vidal biopic planned by Netflix to star Spacey may very well be canned.

Netflix Suspends Production On Final Season Of HOUSE OF CARDS

Deadline is reporting that Netflix has hit pause on filming the final season of hit series House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey in the aftermath of Anthony Rapp’s allegations of unwanted sexual advances made by Spacey when Rapp was 14-years-old.

Filming on the upcoming sixth and final season of Netflix’s Washington D.C.-set drama House of Cards has been suspended indefinitely. Cast and crew of the MRC-produced series were told of the shutdown this morning.

“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” the two companies said in a joint statement to Deadline.

The news comes less than 24 hours after Netflix announced that House of Cards will end with its upcoming sixth season as allegations of unwanted sexual advances in 1986 by HoC star Kevin Spacey against then-14-year-old Anthony Rapp had emerged.

Netflix says the decision to make season 6 the last season of the series was made months ago.

There are rumors of a possible spin-off series starring one of the other lead actors.

Netflix’s “Narcos” Season 3 Features Sensual Gay Dance Scene

(images via Netflix)

Woof.

Netflix dropped the 3rd season of Narcos over the weekend, a fictionalized account of the rise of drug-trafficking in Latin America, and it’s clear I have some catching up to do.

In a scene near the end of the first episode, the audience gets a sexy display of power and authority.

Feared drug cartel leader “Pacho Herrera” enters a nightclub and basically dares everyone in the place to disrespect him as he grabs another male patron for a sensual, sexy, cheek to cheek, hip to hip tango.

And then there’s the kissing.

From Complex:

“It was a way to show how crazy this guy could be and a little dessert before [the kill],” says actor Alberto Ammann, who has played Pacho since the show’s first season but who didn’t really get to explore his sexuality until now as his part had been smaller in the previous years that concentrated on the take-down of Medellin drug lord, Pablo Escobar. (According to investigative reporter William C. Rempel’s book, At the Devil’s Table: The Untold Story of the Insider Who Brought Down the Cali Cartel, the real Pacho was out, proud and oversaw the group’s most gruesome deaths).

“When you saw the girls and guys watching the couple dancing and kissing, there’s so much in their looks,” Ammann adds of his dance routine with actor Maurho Jimenez Mora. “Nobody laughs or moves a hair because they know this guy is terrible and very violent and he’s doing this for respect and to shut up everyone.”

It’s not Season 1 Episode 6 of Sense8, but it’s way sexy. And the series has my attention.

Netflix Announces Two Hour “Sense8” Finale Movie

After cancelling fan-favorite sci-fi series, Sense8, in early June, an outpouring of support from around the world has moved the the streaming service to announce a 2-hour finale movie.

Variety reports:

In a video posted on social media, the characters from the series reunite and sing along to the song “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes. Midway through the video, the following words appear onscreen: “It’s happening. Two-hour finale episode. Tell your cluster.”

In addition, series co-creator Lana Wachowski posted a statement online that reads in part, “The passionate letters, the petitions, the collective voice that rose up like the fist of Sun to fight for this show was beyond what anyone was expecting.”

“It is my great pleasure as well as Netflix’s (believe me, they love the show as much as we do but the numbers have always been challenging) to announce that there will be another two-hour special released next year,” she continued. “After that…if this experience has taught me anything, you NEVER know.” You can read the full statement below.

The streaming service canceled the series after two seasons at the beginning of June, making it one of the few Netflix originals to get cancelled.

The series had been especially embraced by the LGBT community for not only it’s message of connectedness, but also the inclusiveness of the diverse casting and storyline which included both an openly gay couple and a lesbian/transgender couple.

Netflix Cancels Sci-Fi Series “Sense8”

Dang it.

Netflix has announce there will be no third season of sci-fi drama, “Sense8.”

Via Variety:

“After 23 episodes, 16 cities and 13 countries, the story of the Sense8 cluster is coming to an end,”,” said Cindy Holland, VP of Netflix original content. “It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kick ass, and outright unforgettable. Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world. We thank Lana, Lilly, Joe and Grant for their vision, and the entire cast and crew for their craftsmanship and commitment.”

“Sense8” starred Tuppence Middleton, Brian J. Smith, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen, Max Riemelt, Tina Desai, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Jamie Clayton as eight strangers who become mentally and emotionally linked. Lana Wachowski, Lilly Wachowski, and J. Michael Straczynski created the show for Netflix and executive produced with Grant Hill.

Featuring two same-sex couple storylines with four LGBT characters, a cast of great diversity and created by transgender Wachowski sisters, I loved the show. It was smart, thoughtful and had a terrific message that we are “more” when we work together.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. Sensates forever.A post shared by Sense8 (@sense8) on Jun 1, 2017 at 11:22am PDT
