Trump Now Says Mexico Will Pay For Border Wall “Later”
Although we heard endless chants of “Who’s gonna pay for the wall? Mexico!” throughout the campaign at every single rally, President-elect Trump now would like to build “the wall” now and bill Mexico “later.”
And somehow it’s the media’s fault.
Via The Week:
Donald Trump’s transition team has approached leading House Republicans to let them know the president-elect prefers to have Congress pay for the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, House GOP officials told CNN Thursday. On Friday morning, Trump tweeted that “any money spent on building the Great Wall (for sake of speed), will be paid back by Mexico later!” — blaming the “dishonest media” for failing to report that.
Throughout his campaign, Trump emphatically promised that he would force Mexico to pay for the border wall, but now the transition team is telling Republicans in private meetings that he wants to fund it through the appropriations process, the officials said. The GOP could add billions of dollars to the spending bill that must be passed by April 28 in order to keep the government open.
Interestingly, Trump deleted his first tweet and then tweeted this, adding the word “later.”

UPDATE: Former Mexican President Vicente Fox reiterated via Twitter that Mexico will not be paying “for that fucken wall.”

Donald Trump Promises 35% Tax On Mexican Made Cars
Donald Trump seems to think he can impose taxes at will.
Via the Trumpsters at Breitbart:
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would impose a 35% tax on any cars made in Mexico to keep companies from moving out of the US. Discussing a scenario where a car company wanted to build a plant in Mexico, Trump stated, “What would President Trump do? So I’d call the head of Ford, or whatever company, but I’d call the head of Ford. I’d say, ‘Congratulations, I understand you’re building a massive plant, in Mexico, and you’re taking a lot of jobs away from us in Michigan and other places. I don’t like that. I don’t like it. I just don’t like it.’ And he’ll say, ‘Well, Mr. President. It’s wonderful, wonderful for the economy. Oh, great, just great.’
“It’s wonderful for whose economy? Not for our economy. We lose on everything. We lose on jobs. We lose on money. We lose on everything. So, what I’d say is the following: ‘I don’t want you to do that. And if you do it, you’re not going to have any cars coming across the border unless you pay a 35% tax.’ That’s it. That’s it. No, that’s it! And they’re going to say — they’re going to say to me, ‘Mr. President, please, please, please.’ Now, I guarantee you. Let’s say I make this call at 9:00 in the morning, by 5:00 in the afternoon, I think the deal is done, they move back to the United States.”
12 Year-Old Boy Tries To Stop Mexican Hate Parade
Over the weekend, members of Mexico’s “pro-family” hate group Frente Nacional por la Familia took to the streets across the nation to protest the inevitable passage of marriage equality.
While the anti-LGBT demonstrators saw their fair share of opposition, perhaps the most striking moment came at a rally in Celaya, Guanajuato when a 12-year-old boy stepped in front of 11,000 protesters in an attempt to stop their march.
Photo journalist Manuel Rodríguez captured the powerful image.
“At first I thought the child was only playing,” Rodríguez admitted to Regeneracion.
But Rodriguez interviewed the child later, who said, “I have an uncle who is gay and I hate the hatred.”
Trump Campaign: Mexico Will Absolutely, Definitely, No-Way-Around-It Pay For “The Wall”
ABC News is reporting that the Trump campaign is holding firm on the promise that, if elected, Donald Trump will build a wall on the southern border of the U.S., and Mexico will absolutely, definitely, no-doubt-about-it pay for it.
Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, said the Republican presidential candidate would deliver on his campaign promise to get Mexico to pay for a border wall and that his position has “never changed.”
“He will build that wall, and he has been consistent on that since day one of his candidacy; he will have Mexico pay for it,” Conway said on ABC’s “This Week.” “His position has never changed, on this side of the border or that side of the border.”

Hillary On Donald Trump’s Mexican Fiesta Fiasco
First of all, at this point we don’t even know who’s telling the truth.
Second, who was this Donald Trump who showed up in Mexico being all meek and low energy?
Does he only talk tough when he’s safely inside the US?
As a candidate, Trump has already embarrassed us on the world stage.Imagine the damage he’d do as president. pic.twitter.com/nmOVOboTYf

Donald Trump And Mexican President Continue Twitter War
Now that Donald Trump is back across the border from Mexico where he met with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto yesterday, both men are feeling quite macho again.
After a bit of a timid and low energy appearance with the Mexican president, Trump is again bragging that Mexico will “pay for the wall” that Trump says will make the U.S. borders safe again.
Peña Nieto, however, is being all bold and stuff saying again that Mexico will not be paying for any wall. “I’ll repeat what I told you personally, Mr. Trump: Mexico will never pay for a wall,” he wrote via Twitter.
The odd thing about all this is that Trump said during the very short press event yesterday that the two men did not discuss who would pay for a wall – with the president standing right there.
It wasn’t until Trump was back in the air that Peña Nieto informed the press that during their private chat he told Trump directly that paying for a wall was off limits.
It’s all a big “he said/he said” from two very unpopular public figures.

Donald Trump Trips – Doesn’t Tell Mexican Prez He’ll Pay For “Trump Wall”
After dramatically flying to Mexico for a one on one photo op with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, Donald Trump told reporters at a short press event with the Mexican President that the issue of who would pay for the now infamous “Trump Wall” didn’t come up.
Now comes news, via President Pena Nieto’s spokesman, that the President told Trump during their one hour meeting that Mexico would not be paying for any wall.
From Reuters:
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto on Wednesday told Donald Trump that Mexico would not pay for the Republican presidential candidate’s proposed wall along the Mexico-U.S. border, contradicting Trump’s assertion they didn’t discuss payment.
“What the president said is that Mexico, as he has said on several occasions … will not pay for that wall,” presidential spokesman Eduardo Sanchez told Reuters by telephone.
Trump earlier told a joint news conference with Pena Nieto after their meeting in Mexico City that the pair had discussed the wall but not who would pay for it.
President Peña Nieto said in a tweet (above)”At the beginning of the conversation with Donald Trump, I made clear that Mexico will not pay for the wall.”
Did Trump lie during the presser? Or if not, why didn’t the Mexican president correct Trump during the Q&A?
It seems Trump is full of swagger in front of his adoring fans, but not so much when he actually has to step on the world stage.
In my opinion, I don’t know how “presidential” Trump looked today. Standing next to the young, handsome and clearly comfortable President Pena Nieto, Trump swayed side to side looking tired while slumping at the podium. It was certainly not the “strong” Donald Trump image he’s promised his supporters he would be.
Former President Of Mexico: Trump “Is Not Welcome To Mexico”
We shall see if Donald Trump’s last minute trip to Mexico to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto works out as a net positive for him.
What’s clear right now is that a LOT of the Mexican people are not pleased to hear he was visiting there today. Especially former President Vincente Fox.
From Talking Points Memo:
“We don’t like him. We don’t want him. We reject his message. I don’t understand why President Pena has offered this opportunity. I think it’s nothing more than a political stunt,” Fox said on CNN’s “New Day.” “Trump is using Mexico, is using President Pena to boost his sinking poll numbers. I think that President Pena is taking an enormous political risk by hosting Trump. If he’s perceived as going soft on Trump, it will hurt him greatly.”
Fox is not a big fan of Trump. He made headlines in February when he told Trump that Mexico is “not going to pay for that fucking wall,” and he later called Trump a “false prophet.”
On Wednesday, Fox told CNN that Trump’s decision to meet with the Mexican president is an “opportunistic move.” He also blasted Trump for lying.
“You cannot cheat people. You have to be straight. You have to speak the truth,” Fox said, adding that he hopes Americans will “finally see what is behind Trump, this false prophet that is just cheating everybody.”
Fox said he does not understand why the country’s president invited Trump to meet with him, but said he hopes he “will take a very firm stand” and call on Trump to apologize to Mexicans.
When asked about Trump’s recent comments on immigration and whether the Republican nominee may be softening his position, Fox said that he can’t “trust” Trump.
“How can we grant confidence and support to ideas that change every day? He’s cynical. He continues to disregard its [sic] own people and disregard Mexicans,” he said, adding that Trump cannot win over both “xenophobic” voters and minorities.

Trump, as usual, tried to take on Fox via Twitter, but Fox is no shrinking violet:
Former President Vicente Fox, who is railing against my visit to Mexico today, also invited me when he apologized for using the “f bomb.”— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 31, 2016
