• Outsports: Jen Pawol makes history as the first woman to umpire an MLB game for today’s doubleheader between the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins.

• Boy Culture: A fascinating dive into the 1965 psycho-thriller “Who Killed Teddy Bear?” starring bisexual Hollywood icon Sal Mineo, Juliet Prowse and Elaine Stritch.  The film is currently screening at NYC’s Film Forum now through August 14. Senate Committee Rejects Trump Proposal To End Life-Saving HIV Programs

The Senate Appropriations Committee dismissed the Trump administration’s plan to end the CDC’s initiatives for HIV prevention and monitoring, along with significant proposed reductions to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) budget.

• CBNC: Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (a prominent vaccine skeptic) has announced he is removing all 17 sitting members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vaccine advisory committee and replacing them with new members.

• Outsports: Mark Shields is the first active Gaelic athlete to come out as gay since 2009. Shields has played senior gaelic football for more than a decade with Armagh.
