Hillary Clinton On ELLEN Today

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton stopped by ELLEN today to talk on a range of subjects including how tough it is for a woman to run for president, her position on gun control, appearing on SNL with her dobbleganger Kate McKinnon, and even the lessons she learned from Kim Kardashian on taking a selfie.

Hillary also gave a non-too-veiled wave of support to LGBTs when she spoke of the difficulties many have of breaking through stereotypes and living authentically:

“I don’t know how we’re going to open the door for more girls and boys to live the lives they choose until we get rid of these stereotypes and caricatures, and break through together.”

Ellen DeGeneres Says She Never Thought She’d Come Out

In a new clip for Oprah’s Master Class series, Ellen DeGeneres shares that she never thought she would come out, and certainly never so publicly as on a TV show.

Degeneres shares the story of attending a course at the Esalen Institute near Big Sur, California called “Changing the Inner Dialogue.” After discovering that her fear was that no one would love her or allow her to be famous once they knew she was gay, DeGeneres realized that the shame she was feeling was making her pretend to be someone she wasn’t.

The acclaimed, Emmy-nominated series “Oprah’s Master Class” tells the stories you’ve never heard from the people you thought you knew best.

Lip Sync-Off With Ellen DeGeneres And Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon faces off with Ellen DeGeneres in a fierce lip sync-off to songs like Silentó’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” and Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money.”

I especially liked Ellen’s surprise choice of Diana Ross’ “Do You Know Where You’re Going To?”

Hillary Clinton On ELLEN

A really charming, warm appearance by Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton on ELLEN yesterday.

Clip description: The presidential candidate joined Ellen in New York City! Hillary stopped by to talk about everything from Kanye to her granddaughter’s first words.

A cute moment came when Ellen asked Hillary what she’d like her granddaughter to call her when she begins speaking. Hillary calmly said, “Well, I’m fine with “Grandma,” I’m fine with “Madame President. Whatever strikes her…”

I’ve seen some comments on the interwebs claiming the appearance was “pandering.” I disagree. I think voters like to get to know their politicians beyond their policy papers and stump speeches. And I’ve spoken to many who have spent time in Hillary’s presence and everyone says her natural warmth and personality are much more obvious in those relaxed settings.

I have no problem with politicians letting their guard down for a minute and letting us see other colors of their lives.

Ellen DeGeneres accepting her Teen Choice Award last night:

“I wanna say also it feels good to be chosen but there was a time in my life that I was not chosen. I wanna say also it feels good to be chosen but there was a time in my life that I was not chosen.”

“I was the opposite of chosen because I was different, and I think I wanna make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now, makes you stand out later in life.”

Ellen Hosts Gay/Straight Prom Dudes

Jacob Lescenski (L) and Anthony Martinez (R)

Last week I wrote about Jacob Lescenski, a straight Las Vegas high-schooler, who won the internet by asking his gay best friend, Anthony Martinez to prom.

Anthony, a student council member who works tirelessly for their school, had earlier complained to his bestie that he couldn’t get a date to the big dance.

So, yesterday, Jacob and Anthony were guests on The Ellen Show, to talk about the internet’s reaction to their BFF moment.

Best moment: when Anthony admits he had a bit of a crush on Jacob when they first met, Jacob says he didn’t really know what to do with a gay guy having a crush on him. Ellen quips, “I have a crush on you, and I’m gay, too.” LOL….

They are both adorbs and a great example of how kids can grow up without judging others.

Ellen and Shutterfly decided to reward these boys for showing the world what true friendship is, but giving them each $10,000 toward their college education.

Hey hey hey! See what being inclusive gets you in life?
