Jussie Smollett Of “Empire” Comes Out To Ellen

Ellen shares this backstage clip with Empire star Jussie Smollett:

“It was really important to me to make sure that it got across that there is no closet.”

“There’s never been a closet. That I’ve been in. I don’t own a closet, I got a dresser, but I don’t have a closet, but I have a home and that is my responsibility to protect that home.

“So that’s why I choose not to talk bout my personal life. But there is, without a doubt, no closet that I’ve ever been in, and I just wanted to make that clear, but it was most important for me to make that clear to you on your show at this time in the world. And that’s where I’m at.”

The backstage sit-down followed his appearance on the show where he briefly alluded to his personal life when asked a question about his Empire character “Jamal Lyons'” coming out.

Interesting that he didn’t just say “I’m gay. No worries.” Language is important, and usually thoughtfully considered in these cases. It seems like he specifically avoided the words.

Neil Patrick Harris Oscar Worries – How To Top Ellen’s “Selfie That Broke The Internet”

Neil Patrick Harris sat down with Ellen yesterday to discuss the preparations he’s going through to host this Sunday’s Oscars.

If anyone would know how to have a great Oscar night, it’s Ellen who hosted last year’s event where she famously took the “selfie that broke the internet.”

NPH admits he feels a “horrible dark cloud” forming over his head as he contemplates how to possibly top that.

Shirtless Derek Yates Books Gig As Ellen’s New “Temporary Gardener”

A shirtless Derek Yates gets ready to trim Ellen’s bushes

A couple of weeks ago I featured hunky, shirtless Derek Yates who was apparently leading the race for “temp gardener” for Ellen while her “regular gardener Nick” was away shooting the Magic Mike XXL.

Looks like my instincts were right as Derek got the nod today as the new “gardener” today on ELLEN!

Who knows how long the gig will last now that filming for Magic Mike XXL is wrapped, but congrats to Derek!

In The Race To Become Ellen DeGeneres’ New Gardener – Derek Yates

In addition to being easy on the eyes, Derek Yates co-founded a non-profit called 1N3 because “One in three of us are impacted by drunk driving.”

His brother was killed on August 1, 2011 by a drunk driver, so now his family and others who are 1-N-3 have taken their tragedy and have turned it around by going into communities to spread awareness about the consequences of driving while impaired.

#AlexFromTarget Goes To Hollywood

Over the weekend, Twitter saw a 16 year old become an instant Twitter-sation when a girl tweeted a pic of #AlexFromTarget.

In a matter of minutes, the photogenic teen was trending worldwide.

Alex’s account zoomed to over 500,000 followers, presumably young teen girls crushing on the guy.

There seems to be some confusion over whether or not the episode was organic or if a company called Breakr helped facilitate the trend.

In any case, according to sources “Alex” is now taking meetings in Hollywood and appearing on ELLEN.

Is he the next Justin Bieber? We can only hope not…

Max Emerson Wants To Be Ellen DeGeneres’ New Gardener

Max Emerson wants to be Ellen’s next “gardener”

The submissions keep coming in to fill the temporary opening as “gardener” for ELLEN since “Nick the Gardener” is away shooting the upcoming Magic Mike XXL.

This is Max Emerson and according to his video he holds “a doctorate in shirtless landscaping from the University of Abercrombie & Fitch,’ and has ‘trimmed bushes’ for such celebs as Pamela Anderson, Justin Bieber and Betty White.

And look! Max has friends for those really big “trim” jobs…

Ellen DeGeneres’ Halloween Costume

“I like Halloween because it’s the one time of year you can dress up however you want, and pretend you’re someone you’d never be in real life. For me, that’s married to a man.” (Huge laughs and applause).

First of all – funny.

Second, it has to be noted that in coming out in the 1990s, Ellen practically lost her career. Slowly, over several years hard work and due to great talent, she has come roaring back in supreme style. 

Now when she jokes on the idea of being married to a man, she’s the most popular woman in daytime TV.
