Agenda Project Launches Nazi-Themed Ad Against Donald Trump

In response to the exceedingly extreme racist and racist rhetoric coming out of some current GOP presidential candidates – Donald Trump in particular for his comments calling for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. – the Agenda Project has started the launch of an ongoing “Anti-Fascism” campaign, aimed at exposing this type of language as that of fear mongering, bigoted fascists that America should fear if we have learned anything from 1930’s Germany.

“We have to ask ourselves: what kind of country do we want to be? One that stands up to hatred and lives up to the principles enshrined in the Constitution and inscribed on the Statue of Liberty or one that rules by fear and subjugation of individuals we deem different,” said Erik Altieri, president of the Agenda Project, “We must unite against this bigotry or we risk losing everything we represent as a nation.”

The spot uses imagery from WWII Germany inter spliced with interview comments by Trump.

Sen. Marco Rubio Would Repeal Marriage Equality Through SCOTUS Appointments

Sitting down for a lengthy interview with NBC News’ Chuck Todd, Republican White House hopeful doubled down on his opposition to marriage equality, and said  – if he were to become president – he would overturn the Obergefell decision via stacking the Supreme Court with same-sex marriage foes.

“I disagree with it on constitutional grounds. As I have said–I think it’s bad law. And for the following reason. If you want to change the definition of marriage, then you need to go to state legislatures and get them to change it. Because states have always defined marriage. And that’s why some people get married in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator. And in Florida, you have to wait a couple days when you get your permit. Every state has different marriage laws. But I do not believe that the court system was the right way to do it.”

“As I’ve said, that would be conceding that the current Constitution is somehow wrong and needs to be fixed. I don’t think the current Constitution gives the federal government the power to regulate marriage. That belongs at the state and local level. And that’s why if you want to change the definition of marriage, which is what this argument is about….It’s not about discrimination. It is about the definition of a very specific, traditional, and age-old institution. That definitional change, if you want to change it, you have a right to petition your state legislature and your elected representatives to do it. What is wrong is that the Supreme Court has found this hidden constitutional right that 200 years of jurisprudence had not discovered and basically overturn the will of voters in Florida where over 60 percent passed a constitutional amendment that defined marriage in the state constitution as the union of one man and one woman.”

“It is the current law. I don’t believe any case law is settled law. Any future Supreme Court can change it. And ultimately, I will appoint Supreme Court justices that will interpret the Constitution as originally constructed.”

Shakeup In Iowa – Sen. Ted Cruz Surges 21 Points

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has surged an impressive 21 points in the latest The Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll, leaving real estate mogul Donald Trump ten points back in second place.

Sen. Ted Cruz – 31%
Donald Trump – 21%
Dr. Ben Carson – 13%
Sen. Marco Rubio – 10%
Jeb Bush – 6%

After those five, it really doesn’t matter much, does it?

“Big shakeup,” said J. Ann Selzer, pollster for The Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll. “This is a sudden move into a commanding position for Cruz.”

And there are signs Cruz may not have peaked in Iowa yet. Another 20 percent of likely caucusgoers say he’s their current second choice for president. Cruz hits 51 percent support when first- and second-choice interest is combined, again leading the field.

With Cruz’s popularity and his debate proficiency, “it’s certainly possible that he could win Iowa big — very big,” said Frank Luntz, a Nevada-based GOP focus group guru who follows the Iowa race closely.

In an interview on Fox News Sunday, Donald Trump wasted no time tearing into Ted Cruz:

“I don’t think he’s got the right temperament. I don’t think he’s got the right judgment.”

“You look at the way that he’s dealt with the Senate, where he goes in there, frankly like a little bit of a maniac. You’re never going to get things done that way.”

“You can’t walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people,” Trump said.

New Poll: Hillary Clinton Leads GOP Front-Runner Donald Trump By 11 Points

It’s interesting how things play out in the media versus ongoing polling for the upcoming presidential season.

For instance, if you watch the news just about anywhere, all you see is GOP hopeful Donald Trump. He’s big. He must be the biggest! So, he’s going to win it all, right?

Not exactly.

According to the latest MSNBC/Telemundo/Marist poll, Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton beats every Republican contender in the hunt.

From NBC News:

Clinton’s biggest lead is against current GOP frontrunner Donald Trump: She’s ahead of him by 11 points among all voters, 52 percent to 41 percent, and a whopping 42 points among Latino voters, 69 percent to 27 percent.

The former Democratic secretary of state leads Ted Cruz by seven points nationally, 51 percent to 44 percent, and by 27 points among Latinos, 61 percent to 34 percent.

Clinton holds a four-point advantage over Jeb Bush, 49 percent to 45 percent, and a 26-point lead among Latinos, 61 percent to 35 percent.

She’s ahead of Marco Rubio by three points among all voters, 48 percent to 45 percent, and 19 points among Latinos, 57 percent to 38 percent.

And Clinton leads Ben Carson by just one point, 48 percent to 47 percent, and she holds a 26-point edge among Latinos, 61 percent to 35 percent.

Note the huge margin among Latinos, the fastest growing minority in the U.S. Tells you a LOT right there.

Hillary Clinton: The Fight For LBGT Equality Is Not Over

It still catches me a bit off-guard that the LGBT community is not just “included” in campaign promises, we ARE campaign promises.

What’s quite remarkable about this spot is that it includes glimpses of same-sex couples actually kissing. Nothing rapturous, of course, but clearly displays of affection.

Some have doubted Hillary’s support for LGBTs, but I’ve instinctively accepted that she does and will continue to support our tribe.

Even just a few years ago, this would have been unthinkable to see from a presidential candidate.

Just, wow.

Donald Trump’s “Great Memory” Can’t Remember Famous Muslim Athletes

Although Donald Trump says his memory is “one of the all-time great memories,” he tweeted that he didn’t know of any Muslim sports heroes.

I’m guessing that memory isn’t all that since he’s met Muhammad Ali many times.

Oh, and then there’s Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal… That’s just off the top of my head, and I’m not even a sports guy.

New Poll: Donald Trump Leads Competitors By 20 Points

A new CNN/ORC poll shows White House hopeful Donald Trump way ahead of his fellow GOP competitors.

The Donald looks to have his biggest lead yet in the race for Republican nominee for 2016:

Donald Trump: 36%
Sen. Ted Cruz: 16%
Ben Carson: 14%
Sen. Marco Rubio: 12%

It’s interesting to note a friend from Texas, who is a Republican, wondered my direction why folks are paying so much attention to Trump. My friend said, “He’s a clown.  He’ll never be the nominee.”

Well…?

No Endorsement For Donald Trump By Black Evangelical Leaders

Last week, Donald Trump’s campaign was thrilled to announce that The Donald was set to meet with over 100 black evangelical pastors at an event that would include their endorsement.

Well, scratch that. According to Darrell Scott, a pastor from Ohio who has helped arrange meetings between Trump and black pastors, there was a “miscommunication” about the nature of the meeting.

Read that: No endorsement.

Via the AP:

Many of those invited to the event say they had no intention of endorsing the billionaire businessman and former reality television star.

“It’s a miscommunication,” said Darrell Scott, the senior pastor of New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, who has helped to arrange meetings between Trump and black pastors in recent months. Trump’s campaign “thought it was going to be a press conference for an endorsement when it wasn’t,” Scott said Sunday in an interview.

Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in an email that Trump would still be holding a private meeting with the group on Monday before departing for a rally in Georgia.

Trump has struggled to expand his support with African-American voters after missteps like saying a black protester at one of his rallies deserved to get roughed up. He also retweeted an internet meme with false statistics about the number of black on white killings in America.

Donald Trump Falls 12 Points In National Poll

The latest Reuters poll reveals GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump has dropped 12 points in less than a week, his largest single poll-to-poll drop since he took the primary lead in July.

Trump drew 31% of Republicans, but fell from 43% support registered on Nov. 22.

This follows Trump’s calls for added surveillance of mosques and a possible registry/database of U.S. Muslims – all of which caused comparisons to Nazi Germany’s registration of Jews.

Other results of the poll:

• Ben Carson 15%
• Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Marco Rubio 8%
• Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush 7%
