Some news items you might have missed:
• The Times: 35-year-old Philip Picardi (above), Playboy Magazine’s new gay editor-in-chief, says he plans to make the publication playful again.
• New Music: Australian pop artist Troye Sivan gets a big star-power assist in his new music video, “She’s The Best,” via fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman, who is the picture of elegant, cool glamour as she strides with purpose through a dressing room filled with drag queens and quietly seduces Sivan in a nightclub.
• Wisconsin Public Radio: A former Wisconsin Principal of the Year has filed a federal lawsuit alleging he was fired from his job as a principal in rural Racine County because he is gay.
The suit alleges that board members faked complaints about his performance and accused him of grooming children, among other false allegations. The complaint specifically points to actions of people affiliated with the virulently anti-LGBTQ group Moms for Liberty.
• The Advocate: Vice President JD Vance is demanding that the Dept. of Justice investigate hospitals caring for transgender patients.
• Politico: The fragile monthlong ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is set to expire Monday unless a last-minute deal suddenly materializes. #SoMuchWinning
• Marvel Entertainment: Check out the newly-unveiled second Avengers: Doomsday trailer further teasing the massive MCU team-up movie arriving in theaters December 18.
