Donald Trump is demanding $230 million from the Justice Department in compensation for the federal investigations into him, according to a report by the New York Times.
The people who would approve such a settlement are loyalists who now work for him, making the ethical conflict, of course, undeniable. • The New Republic: Newly-freed serial liar George Santos may not be completely out of the woods. A New York law passed in 2019 specifically allows the state to bring similar charges against anyone who had received “a reprieve, pardon, or other form of clemency” from the president.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) defended Donald Trump’s feces video released over the weekend showing Trump flying a fighter jet wearing a king’s crown and dropping shit on Americans at No Kings rallies.
At a press conference, a reporter noted that Johnson had called the demonstrations “Hate America Rallies,” then pointed to Trump’s video of him pooping on the American people.
