• Deadline: FX has cancelled its acclaimed sitcom English Teacher, starring out actor Brian Jordan Alvarez (above) as a gay high school teacher, after just two seasons.
• Kenneth-in-the-212: Check out this week’s round-up of the latest LGBTQ publications including comedian Kathy Griffin on the cover of The Advocate.
• The Advocate: Out New York City Council Member Erik Bottcher launched his campaign today for New York’s 12th Congressional District hoping to capture the seat of longtime Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) who is retiring.
• Queerty: Reality TV king Andy Cohen explained on the podcast How To Fail with Elizabeth Day why Madonna won’t appear on his late night talker Watch What Happens Live: “She called me a troublemaking queen.” The video clip is cued up.
• Axios: Fewer than half of Americans (49%) say religion is an important part of their daily lives, according to a new Gallup poll. That’s the lowest level on record, and a drop of 17 percentage points over the past decade.
• The BBC: The BBC apologized to Donald Trump for the way it edited a documentary about him which combined two sections of his remarks on Jan. 6, 2021, in a way that made it seem as though Trump had made a direct call for violence. The BBC declined, however, to pay Trump the $1 billion he threatened to sue for.
