Some news items I thought worth your time:
• The Advocate: A federal judge has rejected the Trump administration’s bid to dismiss transgender Air Force troops’ retirement lawsuit.
The plaintiffs – including Master Sgt. Logan Ireland (above) – are suing after the government unlawfully stripped them of retirement pay and benefits after promising they could leave military service with early retirement.

• NOTUS: The Minnesota man who pleaded guilty to killing former state House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband was sentenced to life in prison today.
• Erin in the Morning: A conservative school district in Clay County, Florida, is considering getting rid of libraries altogether in order to keep books like The Color Purple out of reach from high school students.
• YouTube: Taylor Snider, a trans woman who says the late Sen. Lindsey Graham paid her for sex before she transitioned, tells her story to Matt Cullen. Teaser below – full interview at the link.
• The Hill: Senate Republicans defeated a war powers resolution that would direct Donald Trump to withdraw U.S. troops from hostilities against Iran. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) crossed the aisle to vote with Democrats in support of it.
• NBC4: Years after punching a police officer during the attack at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, a Massachusetts doctor has lost her right to renew her medical license. Dr. Jacquelyn Starer of Ashland pleaded guilty in 2024 to two felony counts of civil disorder and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers.
