Miss Texas Trolls Trump At Miss America Pageant Over Charlottesville Racists

Miss Texas Morgana Wood

At last night’s Miss America Pageant, Miss Texas Margana Wood didn’t pause a second when answering a question from out People editor-in-chief Jess Cagle about President Trump’s handling of the Charlottesville debacle.

Cagle queried, “Last month a demonstration of neo-Nazi white supremacists and the KKK in Charlottesville Virginia turned violent and a counter protester was killed. The president said there was shared blame with quote ‘very fine people on both sides’. Were there? Tell me yes or no and explain.”

Wood’s answer was delivered deftly:

“I think that the white supremacist issue — it was very obvious that it was a terrorist attack. And I think that President Donald Trump should have made a statement earlier addressing the fact, and in making sure all Americans feel safe in this country and that is the number one issue right now.”

In the end, Miss North Dakota Cara Mund took home the crown.

Melissa McCarthy Picks Up Emmy Award For “Sean Spicer” Portrayal On SNL

Sean Spicer may be gone from the White House, we’ll always have Melissa McCarthy’s hysterical, over the top portrayal of the former White House press secretary on Saturday Night Live to relish.

And just to show “Spicey” is the gift that keeps giving, McCarthy must be relishing her new Emmy Award she picked up last night at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. That statue sitting on McCarthy’s mantle was for her hosting gig on SNL including her performance as the manic, unhinged press secretary.

You’ll recall the portrayal got so much attention Trump pulled Spicey from press briefing duties and sent Sarah Huckabee Sanders in his place.

At the time of McCarthy’s appearances as “Spicey,” Sean attempted to blow off the jabs with faux good sportsmanship. But his true colors showed when he commented that SNL had “gone from being funny to just bad.”

This is McCarthy’s second Emmy win having previously won for CBS’ Mike & Molly. I’m not surprised to learn she has been nominated for all five of her hosting gigs on SNL.

The Creative Arts Emmys took place Sunday in Los Angeles.

The main Emmy broadcast will air Sunday, Sept. 17 on CBS.

But for now, let’s take a trip on the “way back machine” and enjoy McCarthy’s brilliant, no-holds barred performance below.

Still to come – the Primetime Emmy Awards show on September 17 on CBS where Drag Race is up for Best Reality Competition Series.

This follows the most successful season yet for Drag Race after moving from LOGO to VH1.

From the floor of the DragCon convention, Ru expressed his gratitude and thanks closing with “Thank you, Television Acedemy. You make this queen so proud! Mwah!”

Hillary Clinton: “I Am Done With Being A Candidate”

In an appearance on CBS’ Sunday Morning, Hillary Clinton said that she intends to remain politically active, but not as a candidate.

Promoting her new memoir What Happened, which will be released Tuesday, Clinton told host Jane Pauley that she doesn’t intend to run for office again. But she won’t be leaving national politics any time soon.

“But I am not done with politics because I literally believe that our country’s future is at stake,” said Clinton.

The former Secretary of State also had some choice words for Donald Trump’s lack of preparedness for the White House.

“We have a reality show that leads to the election of a president. He ends up in the Oval Office. He says, ‘Boy, it’s so much harder than I thought it would be. This is really tough. I had no idea,’” Clinton said. “Well, yeah, because it’s not a show. It’s real. It’s reality, for sure.”

Clinton also shared that while she’s moved on from her surprise loss last November, the pain of defeat is still present.

“I am good,” Clinton said. “But that doesn’t mean I am complacent or resolved about what happened. It still is very painful. It hurts a lot.”

Viral Video: Driver Fails To Signal While Turning, Police Officer Approaches Car With Gun Drawn

This video has gone viral overnight with over 100K retweets.

Apparently, the driver was stopped for failing to signal at a turn. With a black man at the wheel, the police officer approached the car with his gun drawn.

He then pointed the gun at the driver.

For failing to signal???

I don’t know a single white person who’s been stopped for failing to signal and had a police officer draw a gun on them.

Clearly the officer repeats over and over “Ok” as his only response for legal reasons with the camera recording.

Americans need to have a discussion with our police offices. There needs to be a real dialogue.

If there was a reason to draw his gun, I’d have preferred the officer explain a rational reason. I’d have preferred he TALK with the driver. I’d have preferred he have a dialogue with the driver.

At least the officer kept calm.

Queer Short Film: “Shower”

I have to recommend the Norwegian short film, Shower, directed by Henry K. Norvalls.

After screening at prestigious film festivals around the world, the darkly erotic short is online in full for the first time.

Official description: A man enters the shower after working out, but is soon side tracked by an unidentified noise. He decides to seek out the source and enters a situation that leave him completely exposed.

Trust me, the film doesn’t end up where you think.

More and more, I’m drawn to short films. In part because I have a short attention span, and in part because I think young filmmakers are packing powerful messages into short films.

Canada: Far-Right Fringe Loon Rants At Sikh Politician

This man’s ability to channel grace under fire is immeasurable.

Jagmeet Singh is a politician in Canada, and the woman is just some far-right fringe loon who doesn’t know that Sharia Law is system of laws based on Islam.

Singh is a practicing Sikh. Two completely different religions. But the idiot who couldn’t stop saying “Don’t touch me” as she got in people’s faces didn’t take the time to understand that.

Watch the incredible patience this man shows to an ignorant hater.

Out Music: The Hound “Can’t Let You Go”

Check out “Can’t Let You Go”, the new music video from LA-based out musician John Constantine (aka The Hound).

The intimate video features Constantine and model Aram Giragos working their way through a bad breakup.

Speaking to HuffPost, Constantine had this to say about being an out artist in today’s music landscape:

“I think it’s still very difficult to be a gay musician. A lot of times in the mainstream market you are told to keep your queerness as an afterthought and market yourself in a heteronormative way, or risk being labeled as a parody or not taken seriously. Meanwhile your straight contemporaries can be as honest, intimate and sexual as they want to be without any hesitation of it hurting their career. So, I want to keep writing and performing without compromise, stay true to myself, and be queer AF without fear.”

Constantine goes on to admit the inspiration for “Can’t Let You Go” came from a personal heartbreak which he says “all led me to where I’m at now.”
