U.S. Economy Added 254K Jobs In September, Unemployment Falls To 4.1%

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its September jobs report and the news is very good. U.S. employers added 254,000 jobs indicating strong economic growth and the unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent. In September, average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls increased by 13 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $35.36. Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have increased by 4.0 percent. Despite what Donald Trump would have you believe, the economy is not in bad shape.

Additionally, the change in total nonfarm payroll employment for July was revised up by 55,000, from +89,000 to +144,000, and the change for August was revised up by 17,000, from +142,000 to +159,000. Fox News contributor Lou Basenese could barely contain himself: “I thought there would be more red flags than a communist parade in this report, and there’s not a single one. … There’s not one data point in here that I can point to that is not good.”
