In light of the “low on substance, high on innuendo” letter from FBI Director James Comey to members of Congress regarding the discovery of emails which might (or might not) be significant in the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, Judd Legum of ThinkProgress helped Mr. Comey out and tweaked the now infamous letter to be more accurate.
President Obama Burns Trump Reading “Mean Tweet”
This has to go down as one of the “Top Ten Moments” of this election cycle.
As President Obama returns to Jimmy Kimmel’s show for another round of “Presidential Mean Tweets” where he reads negative tweets about himself, Obama delivers a mic-drop worthy response to one tweet in particular from a certain orange hued critic.
Catch the long stare into the camera after his response.

Donald Trump Daily Tweet-Storm: “This Election Is Being Rigged”
Donald Trump began his Saturday with early morning tweets calling out lies, rigged elections and crooked media.
Not in the top tweet, he shares that recent news reports “may poison the minds of the American Voter.”
I would suggest he’s done this all on his own.
Trump never disavowed the comments in the Access Hollywood tape. He admitted he said he likes to kiss women when he feels like it, and he likes to “grab ’em by the pussy.”
Now women are coming forward saying he did what he admitted he likes to do.
If you’re going to throw around the big “locker room talk,” you have to own it.
This election is being rigged by the media pushing false and unsubstantiated charges, and outright lies, in order to elect Crooked Hillary!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 15, 2016
Hillary Clinton should have been prosecuted and should be in jail. Instead she is running for president in what looks like a rigged election— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 15, 2016
Fake Hillary Email Sends Trump Followers Into Frenzy
A wannabe Trump troll really got the more gullible Trumpers in a frenzy today as they breathlessly retweeted what they believed was “proof” that Hillary Clinton was paying off pollsters to show her leading in the race for the White House.
A sad little Twitterer who goes by the handle “MassRafTer” posted the poorly Photoshopped image above trying to pass it off as a communication between the Hillary Clinton campaign and Public Policy Polling.
The truly cringeworthy aspect of the exercise was in seeing how many Trumpers believed the “fake email.”
The next thing you know, Donald Trump Jr. retweeted the post and folks lost their minds. Mainly because Don Jr. fell for a such a badly done fake.
Even Public Policy Polling got into the fun by retweeting an Upworthy writer who called Jr. out for his naivete.
Trump Campaign Defends Trump Tweet About Death Of NBA Star’s Cousin
Donald Trump’s campaign manager sought to tamp down criticism of Donald Trump’s insensitive tweet Saturday which looked to capitalize on the shooting death of NBA star Dwyane Wade’s cousin.
From The Hill:
“He tweeted his condolences to the family right after that,” Kellyanne Conway said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
“I would like everybody to know about both tweets, because I think it’s incredibly important for all of us to come together in a very nonpartisan fashion and express our condolences to families like the Wade family and also our outrage that things like this can happen.”
Trump on Saturday faced backlash over his tweet about Nykea Aldridge, who was caught in crossfire and shot in the head and arm while leaving a school in Chicago.
“Dwayne [sic] Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!” he tweeted.
He later posted another tweet expressing his condolences to the family.
Conway says Trump tweeted his condolences “right after” the first tweet, but that’s not accurate.
If you check the time stamps on the original tweet and then the “condolences” tweet they were four hours apart. The first was sent at 6:24AM, the second at 10:48AM.
It took Trump more than four hours to realize how heartless he appeared. And more importantly, “condolences” weren’t his first impulse.
By the way, Trump couldn’t even manage to spell Dwyane Wade’s name correctly in his original tweet.

Donald Trump Exploits Death Of NBA Star’s Relative For Political Gain
Just when you thought something would be off-limits in Donald Trump’s twisted campaign for the White House – this happens.
While pushing a baby stroller in Chicago, Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade’s cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was violently killed when she was caught in the middle of a gun fight.
Wade shared his anger and raw emotions on Twitter:
“My cousin was killed today in Chicago. Another act of senseless gun violence. 4 kids lost their mom for NO REASON. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough,” the NBA star tweeted.
Exactly as he has done in the past when tragedy has occurred, Donald Trump used the event to prop himself up in some way rather than express sympathy, empathy or some kind of human emotion. Trump doesn’t even take the time to spell Wade’s name correctly. See his tweet at the top of this post.
“Dwayne Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!”
As many know, after the terror attacks in Nice, Paris and Orlando, Trump demonstrated the same insensitive behavior for political gain.
Hours later, a non-sociopathic human being grabbed his phone and followed up with this – attempting some sense of humanity:
My condolences to Dwyane Wade and his family, on the loss of Nykea Aldridge. They are in my thoughts and prayers.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 27, 2016
Folks were not amused on the Twitter:
I’ve lived 40 years as a black man in America, @realDonaldTrump. Seen many politicians exploit us. Never seen someone do it this crudely.— Jamil Smith (@JamilSmith) August 27, 2016

@realDonaldTrump SO DISRESPECTFUL!!! No condolences! Using that woman’s death as your own political gain. @angela_rye @Bakari_Sellers— Rochelle Ritchie (@RochelleRitchie) August 27, 2016
“My sympathies go out to their family. We must work to end this violence” would be a tweet for an actual human. https://t.co/E7FplTyFlS— Adam Smith (@asmith83) August 27, 2016
1) You’re celebrating/politicizing this death instead of mourning it or offering condolences. 2) His name is Dwyane. https://t.co/fFTDCDGjiL— bsteels (@bsteels) August 27, 2016
Donald Trump Goes Full Twitter Tirade Against “Corrupt Media”
Beginning with the “failing” New York Times and eventually encompassing all “corrupt media,” Republican Donald Trump went on a Twitter tirade about what he feels is unfair reporting on behalf of his presidential campaign when the media repeats what he says word for word.
It all began with an article by the New York Times which interviewed 20 prominent Republicans who described Trump’s campaign as flailing in “a dire predicament.”
Nearly two months later, the effort to save Mr. Trump from himself has plainly failed. He has repeatedly signaled to his advisers and allies his willingness to change and adapt, but has grown only more volatile and prone to provocation since then, clashing with a Gold Star family, making comments that have been seen as inciting violence and linking his political opponents to terrorism.
Advisers who once hoped a Pygmalion-like transformation would refashion a crudely effective political showman into a plausible American president now increasingly concede that Mr. Trump may be beyond coaching. He has ignored their pleas and counsel as his poll numbers have dropped, boasting to friends about the size of his crowds and maintaining that he can read surveys better than the professionals.
In private, Mr. Trump’s mood is often sullen and erratic, his associates say. He veers from barking at members of his staff to grumbling about how he was better off following his own instincts during the primaries and suggesting he should not have heeded their calls for change.
In now “classic Trump” mode, the GOP nominee began vomiting his bile out into the Twitterverse.
The failing @nytimes talks about anonymous sources and meetings that never happened. Their reporting is fiction. The media protects Hillary!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 14, 2016
The failing @nytimes, which never spoke to me, keeps saying that I am saying to advisers that I will change. False, I am who I am-never said— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 14, 2016
If the disgusting and corrupt media covered me honestly and didn’t put false meaning into the words I say, I would be beating Hillary by 20%— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 14, 2016
My rallies are not covered properly by the media. They never discuss the real message and never show crowd size or enthusiasm.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 14, 2016
I am not only fighting Crooked Hillary, I am fighting the dishonest and corrupt media and her government protection process. People get it!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 14, 2016
It is not “freedom of the press” when newspapers and others are allowed to say and write whatever they want even if it is completely false!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 14, 2016
