Texas City Considers Repealing Local LGBTQ Protections

In my news round-up yesterday, I included a report that the city council of Arlington, Texas, had scheduled a vote Tuesday evening on removing LGBTQ protections from the city’s anti-discrimination ordinance.

The Independent: A 42-year-old Texas man, Joshua Cole (above), is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to shoot up the Abilene Pride Parade. “Fk their parade…come on bro let’s go hunting fairies,” he reportedly wrote in a Facebook message.

Texas Adopts Anti-Trans Law Restricting Bathroom Use

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has signed into law new restrictions regarding which restrooms transgender people can use in schools and government buildings.

BroadwayWorld: Broadway’s Cabaret revival will close a month earlier than previously announced. Additionally, the show’s current “Emcee” – Tony winner Billy Porter (above) – will not appear in the remainder of the run due to a case of sepsis.
