In my news round-up yesterday, I included a report that the city council of Arlington, Texas, had scheduled a vote Tuesday evening on removing LGBTQ protections from the city’s anti-discrimination ordinance.

• The Independent: A 42-year-old Texas man, Joshua Cole (above), is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to shoot up the Abilene Pride Parade. “Fk their parade…come on bro let’s go hunting fairies,” he reportedly wrote in a Facebook message.
• New Music: Out recording artist Avery Cochrane’s new single, “Shapeshifting on a Saturday Night,” is a melancholy, pensive pop bop showcasing the talented artist in ‘sad autumn girl’ vibe. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has signed into law new restrictions regarding which restrooms transgender people can use in schools and government buildings.
