Some news items that caught my eye:
• The Independent: A 42-year-old Texas man, Joshua Cole (above), is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to shoot up the Abilene Pride Parade. “Fk their parade…come on bro let’s go hunting fairies,” he reportedly wrote in a Facebook message.
• New Music: Out recording artist Avery Cochrane’s new single, “Shapeshifting on a Saturday Night,” is a melancholy, pensive pop bop showcasing the talented artist in ‘sad autumn girl’ vibe.
• LGBTQ Nation: World Athletics has begun using SRY testing as a “proxy” for determining if athletes are cisgender women. But – records show many cis women would have failed the test.
• ABC News: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas says the high court should take a more ‘critical approach’ to settled precedent, saying decided cases are not “the gospel.” One of those “settled precedents” is the 2015 same-sex marriage Obergefell ruling which may get revisited in the upcoming term.
