Poll: Presidential Voters Say Age More Disqualifying Than Being Gay

A new a Reuters/Ipsos poll may be good news for Mayor Pete Buttigieg as the survey shows age may be a more disqualifying factor for presidential candidates than sexual orientation.

Overall, the poll found that 48% of adults in the United States said they were “much” or “somewhat” less likely to support someone for the White House if the person was older than 70, while 34% were less likely to vote for someone who is gay.

And 12% said they were more likely to vote for a gay candidate, compared with 11% who said they were more likely to support a candidate who is over 70.

The current Democratic field of candidates running for the 2020 presidential nomination includes two septuagenarians – former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The poll also showed that minorities were more likely to be supportive of a gay candidate than whites, and millennials were more supportive than Baby Boomers. Additionally, urban dwellers were more supportive than those living in rural areas.

Nearly Half Of Republicans Would Be Bothered Hearing Foreign Language Spoken In US

Close to half of white Republicans in the United States said they would be bothered if they heard someone speak a foreign language in public in a new survey released by the Pew Research Center on Wednesday.

According to the new survey, 47 percent of white respondents who identified as Republican or Republican-leaning said they would be bothered “some” or “a lot” by a person speaking a language in public that was not English.

By contrast, only 18 percent white respondents who identified as Democrat or Democrat-leaning said they would be bothered.

Fifty-eight percent of white Democrats said that they wouldn’t be bothered at all by hearing someone speak in a foreign language in a public. Twenty-six percent of white Republicans also answered the same.

Outside of political modifiers, the survey found that 34 percent of all white respondents said they would be bothered hearing people speak in a foreign language in public.

Majority Of Americans Aren’t Feeling Impeachment

As Donald Trump’s approval rating continues to hover at a limp 39% following the release of the Mueller report, the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll shows:

• 58% of Americans believe Trump lied to the public about the issues involved in the Mueller investigation

• Only 31% of those polled believe he told the truth

• 56% of Americans don’t feel impeachment proceedings should be pursued at this time

• 37% say Congress should move forward on impeachment

New Polling: Americans Trust Nancy Pelosi More Than Donald Trump

New polling from Quinnipiac University has some interesting results:

• American voters trust Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi more than President Trump by a margin of 49% to 42% respectively.

• That gap is wider with independent voters with Pelosi getting 49% still but Trump dropping to 36%.

• 56% say the recent shutdown of the federal government was Trump and Congressional Republicans’ fault, while only 34% put the onus on Democrats.

• Trump’s job approval rating dropped to 38% in the QU poll while his disapproval jumped to 57%.

• Voters support a bill that funds new border security measures but without funding for a wall 61% versus 33% who don’t approve of that approach.

• 66% disapprove of the president using “emergency powers” to get his wall built.

• 70% of voters believe transgender people should be able to serve in the U.S. military versus 20% who do not approve.

New results from the Morning Consult/POLITICO poll shows Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 40% while his disapproval rating has hit an all-time high for this poll of 57%.
More results:
• 54% put the onus on Trump and Congressional Republicans for the government shutdown, while 35% blame Democrats.
• In regarding to the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, a solid majority – 57% – believe Russia has compromising information on Trump.
The results of the latest CBS News poll aren’t any better for Trump:
• 66% of those polled say Trump should agree to the current budget proposal without insisting on his wall.
• Regarding the current shutdown, 47% approved of the way Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is handling the situation versus 35% approving of Trump’s approach.
• Trump’s approval rating in the CBS News poll has dropped to 36% while 59% disapprove of the job he’s doing.

A new poll by NBC/Wall Street Journal taken after the midterm elections shows a majority of Americans think Donald Trump hasn’t been truthful regarding the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

• Almost two-thirds (62% of those polled) say Trump has not been honest regarding Russian interference in the last presidential election.

• 33% believe the economy will get worse in the next 12 months versus 28% who believe it will continue to improve.

• Only 38% of those polled would vote to re-elect Trump president.

• Only 33% say Trump ‘got the message’ that voters want a change of direction via the midterm elections; 22% say he got the message but won’t make any changes in his approach to the presidency.

• 56% say the country is headed in the wrong direction.

Donald Trump’s Disapproval Rating Jumps To 60%

Donald Trump’s approval rating drops again, this time to a low 38% according to the Gallup tracking poll.

Worse, though, is his disapproval rating that jumped up to his high of 60%.

Gallup tracks daily the percentage of Americans who approve or disapprove of the job Donald Trump is doing as president. Weekly results are based on telephone interviews with approximately 1,500 national adults, with a margin of error is ±3 percentage points.

54% Of Republicans Feel Kavanaugh Should Be Confirmed Even If Sexual Misconduct Allegations Are True

A recent Marist poll shows a majority of Republicans - 54% - feel Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh should be confirmed even if the allegations of sexual misconduct by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford are true.

Drilling down a bit deeper, the results showed 48% of Evangelical Republicans don’t mind his confirmation even if the accusations by Ford are true. That says something, doesn’t it?

Thirty-two percent of Republicans do not believe Kavanaugh should sit on the high court if Ford’s allegations are true.

Only 12% of Democrats believed that he should be confirmed if the allegations are true.

The same poll showed Kavanaugh is upside down in his approval ratings with 31% approval versus 37% disapproving.
