Some news items you might have missed:

• Fitness guy Ben Zerbst posts on Instagram he thought he heard a dog. Actually, it was just me woofing.

• One of the gay men Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis denied a marriage license has announced he will run for her office.

• Actor/athletes Terry Crews is suing his former William Morris Endeavor agent, Adam Venit, alleging Venit grabbed Crews by the balls at a party.

• Folks were wondering about Donald Trump’s unusual speech impediment during his announcement that the U.S. would recognize Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel. Many suspect his dentures came loose. Take a listen and decide for your self.

• Pot meet kettle: Steven Bannon criticized 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney saying he avoided military service by serving his Mormon mission during Vietnam. Ironic since Bannon shepherded Donald Trump to the presidency. Trump famously received deferment after deferment for “bone spurs” during Vietnam.

• For the first time in history, a cast member of the Broadway production of CATS was involved in an incident with a dog during a performance.

• Retired pro soccer star Robbie Rogers married TV and film producer Greg Berlanti. The twosome have been a couple since 2013 and became engaged last December. They are parents to adorable Caleb, who they had via surrogate in February 2016.

• Fitness guy Dominick makes for all kinds of sexy Santa. Looks like he’s got a nicely wrapped package to deliver, too 😉

• The Human Rights Campaign has wisely chosen to endorse Nevada Congresswoman Jacky Rosen as she begins her campaign to challenge GOP Sen. Dean Heller in next year’s election. The HRC writes, in part, “She has been an outspoken critic of the Trump-Pence Administration’s assault on LGBTQ equality, from revoking discrimination protections for transgender children in public schools, to attempting to render the LGBTQ community invisible in the U.S. census.”

• A gay man standing outside a McDonalds in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was viciously attacked by seven men. The man had to be treated in the hospital for a broken cheekbone and damage to his eye.

• Last month, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Alabama Republican Roy Moore wasn’t fit to serve in the U.S. Senate. Today, McConnell flip-flopped saying the people of Alabama should make that call. #SaveThatMajorityAtAnyCost

• MSNBC’s Joy Reid has apologized after blog posts from ten years ago surfaced wherein she often referred to former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist as “Miss.” Crist has long been rumored to be a closet-case.

• A male model named Jason Boyce has filed suit against renowned photographer Bruce Weber alleging that the lensman sexually harassed him during a photo shoot.

• InstaCouple Justin and Nick share the afterglow of seeing an NYC screening of soon-to-be-in-wide-release Call Me By Your Name.

News Round-Up: December 2, 2017

Some news items you might have missed:

• Woofy Alex Abramov (above) says, “Everyone should believe in something. I believe I should go to the beach this weekend.” You gotta admit, Alex wears the beach very, very well 🙂

• Analysis by Newsweek shows the current tax bill in the Senate would devastate support systems and services for LGBT Americans.

• Uri Kokia has come out as gay making him the first professional basketball player to come out as gay in Israel. In an interview, Kokia said, “I want to show you can make a long and glorious career as a gay man.”

• A father in Mills, Wyoming, is accused of attacking his 15-year-old gay son with a knife because the father disapproved of homosexuality.

• Republican Congressman Blake Farenthold of Texas, who prides himself as a “family values” politician used taxpayer funds to settle a sexual harassment case to the tune of $84,000. Farenthold had told his former communications director he had “sexual fantasies” and “wet dreams” about her.

• In related news, Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina reportedly used $150,000 in taxpayer money to settle a veteran-discrimination and retaliation claim with a former aide.

• Anthony Rapp has received a lot of social media attacks after telling his story of sexual misconduct by Kevin Spacey 30 years ago when Rapp was 14. Rather than fight back, Rapp decided to share them all with the world.

News Round-Up: December 1, 2017

Some news items you might have missed:

• Andrew Christian begins a month-long celebration of Christmas with a candid photo of “Father Daddy Christmas” after trimming the tree.

• The Riveras reality star Johnny Lopez came out in a touching video after his boyfriend posted a photo of the two of them embracing.

• The New York City Council has banned so-called “conversion/ex-gay therapy” for minors.

• It appears that Republican Sen. Bob Corker will be the only “no” vote from the Repubs on the current (ever-evolving) tax reform bill. That would mean the vote will most likely be 51-49.

• On this World AIDS Day, a new poll in the UK shows 1 in 5 Brits would feel “uncomfortable” wearing a red ribbon in honor of those we’ve lost to HIV/AIDS.

News Round-Up: November 30, 2017

Some news items you might have missed:

• Andrew Serkin (above) handles the cold in Miami with a stylish vest sans shirt. I’m good with that 🙂

• Washington Blade reporter Chris Johnson was not extended an invitation to the White House’s annual Christmas party this year. Johnson attends the White House press briefings almost daily, and has attended the holiday fest at the White House the last seven years. Now, why do you think Team Trump would snub a gay reporter… Oh, got it. Nevermind.

• Jim Nabors, of Gomer Pyle, of The Andy Griffith Show, and the show’s spinoff, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., died at the age of 87. He married his partner Stan Cadwallader in 2013. They had been together 42 years. Thanks to his “Gomer Pyle” role, Nabors was one of the few ever to be named an Honorary Marine.

• Crediting the preventative drug PrEP, the Department of Health says 2016 had the lowest number of new HIV diagnoses in New York City history, an 8.6% decrease in new infections as opposed to the year before.

• Timothée Chalamet had a great night at the New York Film Critics Circle last night where he snagged the Best Actor award for his stunning work in the coming-of-age gay romance, Call Me By Your Name. Chalamet also saw another film he is appearing in, Lady Bird, win for Best Film.

• Check out this year’s holiday commercial from H&M titled “A Magical Holiday” starring Nicki Minaj, Grey Anatomy’s Jesse Williams, and John Turturro as the villain who stole Christmas presents from children across the globe. Three minutes of non-Trump, holiday cuteness – watch below.

Some news items you might have missed: • Sixteen men arrested last month during a crackdown on homosexuality by the authorities in Egypt have been sentenced to three years in prison. • The Trump Organization has announced the new Trumpstore.com which sells a $32 Trump Golf hat made in Bangladesh, and a $25 faux gold bouillion “TRUMP” coin bank made in China. Whatever happened to “America First?” • If you like my short and sweet News Round-Ups, you’re definitely going to like kenneth-in-the-212’s “Remains of the Day” posts 🙂 • Mattel’s Barbie doll teamed up with designer Aimme Song to promote Song’s new “Love Wins” t-shirts. As expected, the haters hate it. • YouTuber Elle Mills is getting tons of attention for her awesome, creative coming out video. Over 800,000 views in two days. Check it out below.

Some news items you might have missed: • The weather is definitely getting a bit cooler here in Las Vegas. You might need this (above) to help keep you warm, although I’m torn between the fur hat or the furry hunk 😉 • For #GivingTuesday – Facebook & The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will be matching up to $2 million in donations to non-profits including the It Gets Better Project. Click here to donate on the official Facebook page and look for the “Donate” button. • The Warwick Rowers are back with their 2018 charity calendar! Click here to order and you’ll be helping the hunky student rowers to end homophobia in sports and work for more LGBT inclusion. Watch the teaser video below.

• England, Wales and Scotland have changed blood donation rules for sexually active gay men as of today. The “abstain from sex for a year” waiting period will now be reduced to a shorter three-month pause, which is still ridiculous. • A federal judge has denied the Trump administration’s request to delay enlistment of new trans troops beyond January 1. • My longtime friend, Obie Award winner David Drake, has been named the new artistic director of the Provincetown Theater. David is one of the most talented people I’ve worked with in the theater (The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me; Pageant). Period. This is terrific news for the P-Town Theater. Congrats, David.

• I realized I don’t feature many blonds on The Randy Report, so let’s celebrate a Happy Monday with Joseph Sayers (above) via kenneth-in-the-212.

• An Indianapolis lesbian couple was kidnapped, viciously beaten and sexually assaulted over four days. Three men have been arrested on 26 charges, including criminal confinement, kidnapping, rape and battery by means of a deadly weapon.

• The Anaheim Ducks tweeted, then deleted, this video of Ryan Kesler walking around the Ducks’ offices in his “birthday suit” to celebrate the 100th birthday of the National Hockey League yesterday.

• Forty people were injured in Spain’s Canary Islands this weekend when a popular gay nightclub’s dancefloor collapsed plunging dozens of clubgoers down into the basement.

• The FDA has approved the first two-drug daily regimen for treating HIV.

• Former Olympic swimmer for the UK, Mark Foster, who has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and acts as a commentator for swimming coverage, has come out at the age of 47.

• Gillette has produced a short film asking UK men for their views on masculinity, what it means to them and how they see the future of being a man progressing.

The video was released alongside a study of 1,000 men that showed 67% believe a man’s role in society has evolved; 45% say they have felt unable to share their feelings because of their gender, and 23% admit that they still feel pressure to be a ‘man’s man.’ Watch the video below.

Some news items you may have missed:

• ICYMI, Dancing with the Stars/America’s Next Top Model champ Nyle DiMarco served up quite the Thanksgiving meal, but I’m not sure which meat Instagram fans were checking out…

• Four Democratic U.S. senators have introduced the LGBT Elder Americans Act, which seeks to expand services for LGBT seniors. The legislation would designate LGBT seniors as a vulnerable population as well as establish the National Resource on LGBT Aging.

• Authorities estimate that a record 10,000 shiny, happy LGBTs and allies marched in this year’s Hong Kong Pride parade.

• Transgender healthcare facts: 31% of transgender Americans lack access to regular healthcare. 22% of transgender American avoid doctors out of fear of discrimination.

• This Reddit user tells the world he hooked up with a “10,” and since he sees himself as a “6” he couldn’t handle it. I remember experiencing this myself once. Read his story here.

• A new docu-series coming to HBO, 15: A Quinceañera Story, follows five Latina girls from different backgrounds as they celebrate their 15th birthdays. The first segment chronicles the story of Zoey, a transgender girl, who lives in Los Angeles and dedicates her Quinceañera to her trans-godmothers, who never got to have one of their own.

Premieres December 19 on HBO. Watch the trailer below.

• InstaHunk of the day: Alfred Liebl

• Authorities in Turkey have declared a ban on all LGBT cultural events in the capital of Ankara until further notice to “maintain public order”.

• For the comic book geeks (like me): Justice League had a disappointing showing at the box office as the super-hero flick only grossed $96 million domestically in its opening weekend. Compare that to rival Marvel Studios The Avengers which debuted in 2012 raking in a then-record $204.7 million domestically. Justice League earned $185.5 million from 65 markets internationally.

• Anti-LGBT groups continue to stand by embattled Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore despite the heinous allegations of sexual misconduct with teens.

• A British woman who attempted to renege on her agreement to serve as a surrogate mother for a gay couple, wanting to keep the now-18-month-old child, has lost in court. The mother had no biological connection to the child — both men donated sperm paired with an egg from a Spanish donor.
