General Takes Down Matt Gaetz Over ‘Woke Military’ Remark

General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

Alleged sex trafficker Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who’s never worn a military uniform, attempted to blast Army Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, today on Capitol Hill saying the military is too “woke.” But General Milley does not suffer fools lightly: “I’ve read Karl Marx. I’ve read Lenin. That doesn’t make me a communist. So what is wrong with understanding…the country which we are here to defend?” But wait! There’s more! “And I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned, non-commissioned officers of being, quote, ‘woke’ or something else, because we’re studying some theories that are out there.”

The news continues to worsen for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as his party pal/wingman Joel Greenberg pleaded guilty in a Florida court room this morning to six felony charges including sex trafficking of a child.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Greenberg was led into court by U.S. Marshals and appeared in a dark colored jail jumpsuit, shackled at the wrists and ankles and flanked by two attorneys. He spoke succinctly during the hearing, responding with one or two words to questions from a magistrate judge.

In all, Greenberg faced 33 federal charges. But prosecutors will drop the other 27 counts against him. Greenberg also pleaded guilty to identity theft, stalking, wire fraud and conspiracy to bribe a public official.

Greenberg now faces possibly 12 years in prison for the crimes he’s copped to.

The plea deal calls for Greenberg to forfeit at about $654,780 in assets he obtained through illegal acts, as well as cooperating with any investigation by the prosecutors.

Conservative House Members Scrap Anglo-Saxon Caucus Amid Pushback

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is planning to form an Anglo-Saxon caucus
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)
UPDATE: CNN now reports that “Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is scrapping the planned launch of her ‘America First’ caucus after receiving blowback from leaders in her own party. Nick Dyer, Greene’s spokesperson, told CNN in an email on Saturday afternoon the Georgia Republican is not “launching anything.” Read more at CNN.

A group of ultra-conservative House Republicans, led by QAnon Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ.) are forming a new caucus that will focus on – wait for it – “uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions.” Calling itself the America First Caucus, the all-white group has determined “a certain intellectual boldness is needed” in order to “follow in President Trump’s footsteps, and potentially step on some toes and sacrifice sacred cows for the good of the American nation.” From the Washington Post:

In a section on immigration, the document describes the United States as a place with “uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions” and argues that “societal trust and political unity are threatened when foreign citizens are imported en-masse into a country, particularly without institutional support for assimilation and an expansive welfare state to bail them out should they fail to contribute positively to the country.”

In the group’s view, architecture should reflect the “aesthetic value that befits the progeny” of Europeans:

On infrastructure, the caucus calls for the construction of roads, bridges and buildings that reflect “the architectural, engineering and aesthetic value that befits the progeny of European architecture, whereby public infrastructure must be utilitarian as well as stunningly, classically beautiful, befitting a world power and source of freedom.”

That’s some serious Nazi fascism on display right there. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy attempted to push back, but it’s hard to hide something when it’s in plain sight. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is, of course, happy to join up. According to NBC News, “Greene’s spokesman Nick Dyer confirmed that a platform is being written but complained about ‘dirty backstabbing swamp creatures’ who leaked the document.”
