Black Prospective Home Buyer Finds KKK Memorabilia While Viewing Cop’s Home

(screen capture)

A prospective African-American homebuyer in Michigan was touring a home when he came across Confederate flag placemats on the dining room table.

Taking a look at the NASCAR-inspired garage, he found two more Confederate flags.

According to the Washington Post, Rob Mathis said to himself, “Wouldn’t it be funny if this was a Klansman’s house?”

And just minutes later, he and his wife came across a plaque in one of the bedrooms. Mounted on wood was an application for membership in the Ku Klux Klan.

The home, about an hour outside of Grand Rapids, belongs to Muskegon police officer Charles Anderson, who has served on the police force there for more than 20 years.

Mathis posted a photo of the KKK application as he shared how the experience left him rattled.

“I feel sick to my stomach knowing that I walk to the home of one of the most racist people in Muskegon hiding behind his uniform and possibly harassing people of color and different nationalities,” he wrote in his post late Wednesday.

The city of Muskegon announced in a Facebook post that an investigation had been opened and Anderson is now on administrative leave.

When contacted by, Anderson offered only a brief response saying, “They (his police union) said not to talk about it. That’s what they told me. Because it’s under internal investigation they said not to make a statement.”

Complicating things more, Anderson was involved in the shooting death of a black man ten years ago while on duty. At the time, he was acquited of any wrongdoing.

But, the Muskegon chapter of the NAACP is now asking that all cases involving Anderson and people of color be reviewed.

Wyoming School Bans, Then Un-Bans, Rainbow Flags

Earlier this month, I reported on an incident at McCormick Junior High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where homophobic and racist flyers appeared in the hallways of the school.
McCormick Junior High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming

Earlier this month,  I reported on an incident at McCormick Junior High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where homophobic and racist flyers appeared in the hallways of the school.

Students discovered flyers which read, “It’s great to be straight. It’s not OK to be gay. Black lives matter only because if it weren’t for them who would pick our cotton.”

“Join the kkk,” concluded the message, which appeared to be signed by “the confederate kid club.”

After Kaycee Cook, a substitute teacher and co-sponsor of the school’s gay/straight alliance, reported the flyers she was later notified that she’d been fired by Principal Jeff Conine.

Since then, Laramie County School District 1 Superintendent Boyd Brown announced that he had identified at least one student believed to be responsible for creating the racist and anti-gay flyers, and that Cook was likely to be reinstated at the school.

But wait – there’s more!

Last Wednesday, 20-25 students who are members of the GSA were called out of class to a meeting with three faculty members who told them they could no longer post any rainbow flags, wear any rainbow clothing or anything LGBTQ-related.

According to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, Ashlynn Kercher, an 8th grade member of the GSA, said, “They told us it was a school distraction and ‘You don’t want to make other people feel like you felt when you saw the posters.’”

The students were reportedly told that if they break the ‘no rainbow/LGBTQ paraphernalia’ rule they will be written up on dress code infractions, and possibly suspended.

Principal Conine told the Tribune Eagle he didn’t know anything about the meeting taking place and that he had not decided to ban anything.

But Ashlynn’s mother, Abby Kercher, spoke to the district’s Title IX coordinator, John Below, who reportedly told her he and the principal had decided to ban the flags and clothing.

On Thursday, the School District issued a statementwhich read, in part:

“Because of the provocative use of flags, especially under the current controversy at the local junior high, the District will not allow the display of confederate flags on District property or at District events. Further, the District will review potential policies or regulations regarding the disruptive use of flags and symbols within the District.”

You’ll note the statement does not say the district is banning rainbow flags.

Superintendent Brown clarified the next day that rainbow flags were not being banned“as long as students do not use them to incite other students.”

Florida: KKK Threatens Gay Politician

James Schneider, an openly gay man currently running for city council in Cape Coral, recently received a threatening note that appears to be from a local division of the Ku Klux Klan.

The note was apparently left on the front door of Schneider’s home last weekend.

The text of the note reads, “We know where you live, faggot… We are going to win… Quit now. When you girls least expect it, we will be here for a nice visit.”

Schneider admits the threat scared him, but he has no intention of quitting the race.

“I was spooked by it immediately. It really shakes you to the core,” said Schneider.

Posting the image to his Facebook page, he wrote, “They got their opportunity to scare us, but not quitting this election. I am the qualified candidate, not the popular one.”

Schneider told his Facebook followers he “almost quit” after the threats but will now “stay in the campaign.”

“We are shaken but not beaten,” the post reads. “Thank you so much for those who have huddled around us at this time. We live in a messed up country.”

KKK Leader To Univision: “We Killed 6 Million Jews, 11 Million Immigrants Is Nothing”

Christopher Barker, KKK leader

“We killed 6 million Jews, 11 million (undocumented immigrants) is nothing.”

Those were the words of Christopher Barker, a leader of the Ku Klux Klan’s ‘Loyal White Knights’ during an interview with Univision’s late night news anchor, Ilia Calderon, for the show Aquí y Ahora.

“We’re going to burn you,” said Barker. “To me, you’re a ni**er,” he added.

No doubt Mr. Barker is one of those “very fine people” Donald Trump has been defending for several days.

Under Pressure, Donald Trump Finally Denounces KKK/White Supremacists

Donald Trump took finally issued a statement today denouncing the violence and bigotry of white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, this past weekend.

From the New York Times:

“Racism is evil,” Mr. Trump said. “And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the K.K.K., neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.”

Several of the president’s top advisers, including his new Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, pressed Mr. Trump to issue a more forceful rebuke after his comment on Saturday that the violence in Charlottesville was initiated by “many sides,” prompting nearly universal criticism.

It’s notable that Trump framed his condemnation with “as I said on Saturday,” which he did not. But we all know that this is a man who never admits he is wrong.

Clearly loathe to issue any statement against white nationalists and bigots, Trump began his remarks with a lengthy self-congratulation on the economy.

That would be the economy he inherited from President Obama.

Donald Trump’s full statement today via NBC News:

I’m in Washington today to meet with my economic team about trade policy and major tax cuts and reform. We are renegotiating trade deals and making them good for the American worker. And it’s about time.

Our economy is now strong. The stock market continues to hit record highs, unemployment is at a 16-year low, and businesses are more optimistic than ever before. Companies are moving back to the United States and bringing many thousands of jobs with them. We have already created over one million jobs since I took office.

We will be discussing economic issues in greater detail later this afternoon, but, based on the events that took place over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, I would like to provide the nation with an update on the ongoing federal response to the horrific attack and violence that was witnessed by everyone.

I just met with FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The Department of Justice has opened a civil rights investigation into the deadly car attack that killed one innocent American and wounded 20 others. To anyone who acted criminally in this weekend’s racist violence, you will be held fully accountable. Justice will be delivered.

As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. It has no place in America.

And as I have said many times before: No matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other, and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans.

Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America.

Two days ago, a young American woman, Heather Heyer, was tragically killed. Her death fills us with grief, and we send her family our thoughts, our prayers, and our love.

We also mourn the two Virginia state troopers who died in service to their community, their commonwealth, and their country. Troopers Jay Cullen and Burke Bates exemplify the very best of America, and our hearts go out to their families, their friends, and every member of American law enforcement.

These three fallen Americans embody the goodness and decency of our nation. In times such as these, America has always shown its true character: responding to hate with love, division with unity, and violence with an unwavering resolve for justice.

As a candidate, I promised to restore law and order to our country, and our federal law enforcement agencies are following through on that pledge. We will spare no resource in fighting so that every American child can grow up free from violence and fear. We will defend and protect the sacred rights of all Americans, and we will work together so that every citizen in this blessed land is free to follow their dreams in their hearts, and to express the love and joy in their souls.

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America. Thank you very much.

Former KKK Leader Says He Would Be Trump’s Biggest Supporter In Senate

David Duke

File this under “With friends like this, who needs enemies.”

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, currently running for Louisiana’s open Senate seat, told NPR’s Morning Edition that he would be Donald Trump’s biggest supporter in the Senate.

From The Hill:

“As a United States senator, nobody will be more supportive of his legislative agenda, his Supreme Court agenda than I will,” Duke said in an interview on NPR’s “Morning Edition.”

“I’m 100 percent behind it. I have a long record of being in favor of protecting our borders from this massive immigration.”

Duke is an enthusiastic supporter of Trump, once calling him the “white knight” for “European American” interests.

Most Dubious Presidential Endorsement Of 2016

Former leader of the KKK absolutely LOVED Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s acceptance speech last night.

In related news, Duke has announced today that The Donald has inspired him, and he will now run for the U.S. Senate seat currently being held by David Vitter, who is retiring this year.

Via The Hill:

The National Republican Senatorial Committee does not back Duke’s run, executive director Ward Baker said.

“We will not support David Duke. Several GOP candidates in LA will have a great impact on our country. He is not one of them,” Baker tweeted Friday morning.

Duke unsuccessfully ran for the Senate, House and governor of Louisiana during the 1990s. He is also a convicted felon who pleaded guilty in 2002 to cheating on his taxes and bilking his supporters.

Duke is an enthusiastic supporter of Trump, once calling him the “white knight” for “European American” interests.

Tony Perkins: The Media Is Lying About Mississippi’s Hate Law

Virulently anti-gay Tony Perkins sent out an email today claiming Mississippi’s new anti-LGBT law has nothing to do with businesses turning people away.

Someone should remind Perkins that lying is regarded as a sin in the Bible he claims to love so much.

The media writes, but does it read? Too few seem to, based on the coverage of Mississippi’s new religious liberty law. After Governor Phil Bryant (R-Miss.) signed a bill that essentially reaffirmed the First Amendment, headlines across the country screamed that Mississippi had just given Americans a “license to discriminate.” “Mississippi governor signs law allowing businesses to deny service to gay people,” some read — regardless of the fact that the measure does no such thing!

Governor Bryant, like the 20 states with religious liberty laws before him, didn’t create a new “religious right” for businesses to turn people away. No believer I know would want that, let alone lobby for it. Despite what the Left would have you think, this debate isn’t about Christians discriminating against anyone — it’s about stopping the government from discriminating against them!

All that Mississippi leaders have done is make sure that the state can’t punish, fine, fire, or block someone from a government work for believing in natural marriage. The Left lies about what the bill does because they know if people knew the truth, they’d probably support it! And a level playing field — the same one they used to demand for their own values — is not what they want for men and women of faith. Forced acceptance is.

Ok, so let me set this straight: government doesn’t punish folks for “believing in natural marriage.” Government gets involved when these business owners “belief” becomes a misguided justification for denying protected minorities goods and services.

You know, those pesky public accommodation laws that require private businesses to treat everyone fairly.

But then, what do you expect from a guy who bought a mailing list from the KKK when he ran for office because he knew those were the kind of folks he wanted to reach?

Donald Trump Stares Down Protester Wearing “KKK Endorses Trump” T-Shirt

Donald Trump’s failure to respond to questions about his support coming from David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan landed front and center again today as the Trumpster had a tense face to face moment with a protester wearing a t-shirt saying “KKK endorses Trump.”

From CNN:

A protester in the seats behind Trump on Friday lifted a sign that read “Islamophobia is not the answer.”

But even after a Trump supporter ripped the sign away, the man lingered not far from Trump’s stage.

Waiting for security, police or staff to spring into action, Trump paced the stage and came close to the man, who had removed a jacket to reveal a shirt with the words “KKK endorses Trump” and a yellow star reminiscent of those worn by Jews during the Holocaust on his chest.

The two appeared to exchange words as Trump walked closer to the man, but Trump quickly walked back toward his podium and continued pacing the stage.

The man was eventually escorted out of the room, blowing kisses along the way in Trump’s direction and toward supporters in the audience who loudly booed the man.

“In the good old days, they’d rip him out of that seat so fast, but today everybody is politically correct — our country’s going to hell for being politically correct,” Trump said, as the man was whisked away after a few minutes.

“The police: they’re afraid to move. They’re afraid to move,” Trump added. “We are really becoming a frightened country.”

The Donald has given conflicting answers in regards to disavowing David Duke and white supremacy groups.

Trump continues to decry the First Amendment which gives Americans freedom of expression. Trump likes “free speech” as long as it applies to him.

How do you become the president when you openly talk about squelching free speech?
