Ted Nugent: Take away constitutional right of voting from those on welfare

“Let’s stop the insanity by suspending the right to vote of any American who is on welfare. Once they get off welfare and are self-sustaining, they get their right to vote restored. No American on welfare should have the right to vote for tax increases on those Americans who are working and paying taxes to support them. That’s insane.

“In addition to suspending a welfare recipient’s right to vote, we also need to get our voting system straightened out and eliminate voter fraud. We need to ensure that only Americans vote by requiring polling places to validate the identification of each voter. It shouldn’t take a Motown guitar slayer to come up with these common-sense bargaining chips before taxes are raised on the producers, which will further choke the economy. How about it, GOP?” – Right wing former rock star Ted Nugent, writing for the Moonie Times.

Anti-gay protester who set General Mills lawn on fire dies

TheStar Tribune reports that Michael L. Leisner, the man who famously staged a fiery protest outside General Mills headquarters, died days later while running errands with his family.

Leisner’s botched protest gained national television attention after he accidentally set fire to a box of Cheerios and the surrounding law of the company’s lawn. The video was posted online and became an internet sensation, as well as cable shows like The Daily Show and E! Entertainment’s Chelsea Lately.

According to his church pastor Dwight Denyes, Leisner died while waiting in his car for his sons to finish playing tennis.

The official cause of death is unknown.

Reality “star” Bailey Hanks spits on the hand that fed her

So apparently a reality show winner named Bailey Hanks, after being plucked from obscurity to star in a Broadway show – Legally Blonde – directed and choreographed by a gay man, written by a gay man, produced by some gay men, coached by gay men and performed with gay men, decided she wanted to make a special statement by not only eating at Chick-Fil-A (her right) but flaunting it on Twitter.

Good for her.

Now? The backlash…

Broadway’s John Carroll has written a fantastic rebuttal for the Advocate to this “Bailey Hanks” person who has slapped most of Broadway in the face by choosing (within her constitutional rights but sadly misguided) to make her “statement.”

From John’s article:

Bailey, you used gay people for your personal gain to make your dreams come true and then sold them down the river with your message condoning a company that is publicly known for discriminating. With your actions, you agreed to treat people like second-class citizens and doing so, disrespected my friends, family, my marriage and me, all this in an Instagram photo of your hate–filled waffle fries.

Stop hiding bigotry and hatred behind religion, let’s call it exactly what it is. If we are going to live by any biblical rule, let it be the golden one.

You really must read the entire take-down. Ms. Hanks deserves every word.

Don’t use the gays then spit on them. We have a talent for reminding you where – and from whom – your opportunities flowed.

p.s. No – I’m not adding the “Broadway” tag to this post. This person doesn’t deserve to be associated with such a noble community.

Colbert on idiot gay hater who set fire to General Mills front lawn

Michael Leisner has really made it!

After his “protest gone wrong” video (where he set fire to the front lawn of pro-equality company General Mills) went viral, Michael Leisner has now found himself featured on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report.

p.s. his over-dramatic, ill-conceived and illegal action led to his being fired by his real estate office.

Pastor buys Starbucks coffee then pours it out to “boycott” Starbucks

From the YouTube description – “Pastor Bob Enyart of Denver Bible Church joins DumpStarbucks.com by pouring his Venti (20 oz) Pike blend down a Colorado sewer because the company is trying to undermine the teach of Jesus Christ that God made us male and female at the beginning of creation.”

Please note – Boycott 101: Don’t buy the product of the company you’re boycotting.

Take a few minutes and sit with that.

We appreciate you supporting Starbucks and their inclusive policies. Thank you.

Ted Nugent to be interviewed by Secret Service

Ted Nugent has gotten himself into a bit of a pickle and now the Secret Service are asking to sit down and discuss his comments made last week.

At last weekend’s National Rifle Association convention, Nugent referred to what he called Obama’s “evil, America-hating administration” and urged NRA members to “to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.”

Nugent now says he never inferred any violence.

Umm… ride into battle and “chop their heads off” sounds pretty violent.

Why GOP supporters have to use such violent imagery I’ll never know. As we all remember Sarah Palin caught flak last year when she used violent imagery and “cross-hairs” in terms of “targeting” elected Democrats, one of whom was Congresswoman Gabby Giffords who was subsequently shot in the head.

Kids – stop with the violent language. If you want to win in the fall, just say “let’s go out there and win this election.” Much better for all.
