We see one truly solid takeaway from the story of the day: Donald Trump Jr. is an idiot.
In the heat of your father’s presidential campaign, a bozo British publicist emails you to set up a sit-down with a “Russian government attorney” promising “documents and information” to “incriminate Hillary” courtesy of the “Crown prosecutor of Russia” as “part of” the Russian government’s “support” for Dad — and you eagerly take the meeting.
“If it’s what you say I love it,” wrote Junior. As if the government of former KGB spymaster Vladimir Putin would do anything so clumsy. (Our former colleague Kyle Smith put it nicely: “Don Jr. is why Nigerian email scammers keep trying their luck.”)

Democrats and the media are frothing to find something criminal in it all, with the most unhinged talking treason. What it clearly was was criminally stupid.

Target Protester Meets Real Trans Person, Goes Insane
By this point, I’m sure you’ve heard there are jerks out in the world who are way angry that super-department store Target issued a statement letting customers and employees know that the store has a very inclusive bathroom / changing room policy when it comes to transgender folks.
In other words, use whatever bathroom your gender identity aligns with.
On the other side of sanity, haters have signed a petition protesting Target’s position.
Not only that, but there are nutjob protesters now going into Target stores who just start shouting anti-transgender rants. I don’t know about you, but if I was a parent I’d be mad as hell at these folks scaring my kids.
Blogger JoeMyGod shared this video today of one such idiot who actually meets a transgender person, and he really becomes unglued over that.
It’s about 4 minutes, but watch how unhinged this guy is.
And by the way – the nut keeps saying “I can sue you if you touch me.” Really? Store security guards can’t ‘touch’ an unruly person like this?

Pat Robertson: “The Gays Want To Control Everything”
Today, Pat Robertson went on another of his anti-gay rants telling his audience “The gays want to control everything.”
Via Right Wing Watch:
“This is part of the left-wing agenda,” he said, “to do away with Christian values and to substitute for Christian values the progressive concepts of morality.”
“You tell me if anybody, if you show me one couple that conceived a child through anal — through anal intercourse — just show me one in all the world, and I will say, ‘I agree with you and you are right.’ Show me one. There are 8 billion people, 7 billion, show me one time when a child was conceived by that kind of sexual activity,” Robertson said. “It is unnatural, I’m sorry.”
Texas Congressman Randy Weber Tweets Then Deletes Comparision Of Hitler And Obama
Texas Congressman Randy Weber has come under fire for a tweet he shared comparing President Obama to Hitler’s march through Europe.
After a firestorm of criticism it appears the tweet was deleted and Weber shared a link to his House webpage where he issues a kind of apology.
Weber has a history of anti-Obama comments, so this is nothing new. But to compare attending a march in Paris over the shooting of five journalists at Charlie Hebdo to a holocaust that led to the death of millions is severely unbalanced.
I personally agree with some critics that the White House should have sent a higher level representative to the march in Paris. We have a Secretary of State who not only speaks French, but foreign relations ARE his job. I would like to know why John Kerry did not attend.
That being said, Weber’s comments are outside the boundaries of sane thought and good taste.
Kansas: Anti-Gay Wackadoos Phillip and Sandra Unruhs File Amicus Brief In State Marriage Case

Last week, Kansas wackjobs Phillip and Sandra Unruhs were quickly swatted away after their attempt to intervene in the Kansas marriage equality case where they tried to say giving equal rights to gay and lesbian couples was tantamount to STEALING it from straight couples like themselves.
The judge quickly dismissed that weak assertion.
However, the Unruhs were allowed to file an amicus brief in support of denying gays the right to marry, and so today, we have their masterpiece of a brief.
Included in the 8 page filing are statements to the effect that:
• Since the Plaintiffs are lesbians, any ruling should not affect male same-sex couples
• Giving marriage rights to same-sex couples would discriminate against opposite-sex couples based on sex
• Marriage equality would result in the taking of property rights of heterosexual couples in violation of the 5th and 14th Amendments
It’s not a long read, but pretty fascinating in it’s illogic.

Anderson Cooper Shuts Down “Selfie” Request From Journalist At Site Of Ottawa Shooting
CNN’s Anderson Cooper does not suffer fools lightly.
Reporting from Ottawa last night on the tragic shootings at Canada’s National War Memorial and Parliament, a “journalist” named Vandon Gene who was a contributor to the Sun News approached Cooper about taking a “selfie” with him near the location of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo’s fatal shooting.
Cooper made clear he thought it highly inappropriate and that he was there to report on the incident, not smile for the guy’s camera near the site of the soldier’s death.
Gene apparently thought this made Cooper a jerk, so he pulled out his phone and recorded another request for a pic wherein Cooper repeats how inappropriate the idea was.
Then, Gene posted the video and tweets complaining about Cooper denying him a “selfie.”
Cooper took a deep breath and issued this very public series of tweets to the idiot:
Gene eventually tweeted an apology, but it was waaaaaay too late. According to the Sun News, Gene no longer works for them.

Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert: Gay Soldiers Giving Massages Proves Repealing DADT Was Bad Idea
I have NO idea what Texas congressman Louis Gohmert is talking about here other than “gay” and “the military” and “Greek massages?”
From a recent appearance on Christian radio show “Point of View” via Right Wing Watch:
“I’ve had people say, ‘Hey, you know, there’s nothing wrong with gays in the military. Look at the Greeks.’
Well, you know, they did have people come along who they loved that was the same sex and would give them massages before they went into battle. But you know what, it’s a different kind of fighting, it’s a different kind of war and if you’re sitting around getting massages all day ready to go into a big, planned battle, then you’re not going to last very long.
It’s guerrilla fighting. You are going to be ultimately vulnerable to terrorism and if that’s what you start doing in the military like the Greeks did. As people have said, ‘Louie, you have got to understand, you don’t even know your history.’ Oh yes I do. I know exactly. It’s not a good idea.”
