Just when I thought I’d never see Josh Duggar’s name again.

From NBC Washington:

Josh Duggar, the former reality TV star from TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting,” has been charged by indictment in Arkansas for receipt and possession of child pornography.

A release from the United States Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Arkansas stated Duggar “allegedly used the internet to download child sexual abuse material.”

“One stipulation Judge Wiedermann requested is for Duggar to have a third-party custodian should he be released on bond,” KNWA, a local news broadcaster in Northwest Arkansas, reported. “Also, the residence where he would stay must be devoid of minor children.”

If convicted, Duggar faces up to 20 years of imprisonment and fines up to $250,000 on each count.

Note: Josh Duggar and his wife, Anna, have six children and are currently expecting their seventh.

“19 Kids and Counting” was cancelled in 2015 amid the revelations that Josh had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter.

Duggar issued a public statement at the time apologizing, but he wasn’t done yet.

A year later internet sleuths discovered he had an Ashley Madison account where folks apparently hook up for sex while cheating on their spouses.

And this was all while he espoused holier-than-thou Christian platitudes.

Evangelist Gets Over 1,000 Years In Prison For Child Sex Abuse Charges

Paul Acton Bowen (mugshot)

Yet another religious hypocrite has been found to be a sexual predator.

Alabama evangelist Paul Acton Bowen has been sentenced to 1,008 years in prison after pleading guilty to 28 counts of sexual abuse involving six male victims whose ages range from 13 to 16.

Bowen was originally arrested in April 2018 and charged with second-degree sodomy, enticing a child to enter a vehicle or house for immoral purposes, and second-degree sex abuse of a male minor under the age of 16. Further investigation led authorities to the additional victims.

The sentence is the maximum allowed on all counts and is ordered to run consecutively, not concurrently. Bowen was also ordered to pay $840,000 in fines for all counts, also the maximum.

Standing in shackles, Bowen addressed the Etowah County court before being sentenced apologizing to his victims and his own family.

“The shame and guilt I feel is overwhelming and has been for a long time,” he said. “My heart was never wanting to hurt anybody but my mind was not well.”

AL.com reports the 39-year-old “served for 12 years in a local church, led a citywide student Bible study in Gadsden and was also the host of xlroads TV, a worldwide broadcast viewed weekly by millions of teens and adults in every city in America and more than 170 countries around the world.”

The victims told investigators they met Bowen through his ministry, and the abuse lasted months, sometimes years.

District Attorney Jody Willoughby read the impact letter of one of the victims who wrote he initially saw Bowen as a “cool guy” who gave him money and took him on trips. But the teen developed a drinking problem that led to blackouts as he tried to cope with the shame of abuse and now sees himself now as “damaged goods.”

A second victim wrote that Bowen “did his best to ruin the lives of other young men.”

A third victim intended to testify in court, but became so overwhelmed with emotion he changed his mind.

Bowen’s attorney John Floyd told the court that his client acted out after being sexually molested himself as a boy.

In addition to his time in prison, Bowen faces another trial in Jefferson County on three felony charges of traveling to meet a child for sex, enticing a child for a sexual act and sodomy. That trial is set for April 20, 2020.

The local NBC News affiliate WVTM reported on Bowen’s arrest back in 2018.

Pennsylvania: GOP Lawmaker Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

UPDATE: Mike Folmer has resigned from the Pennsylvania state Senate as a result of his child pornography charges.

**********************************************

The Washington Post is reporting conservative Pennsylvania state Sen. Mike Folmer has been charged with possession of child pornography.

The charges against Folmer include sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.

The married grandfather of seven was caught as the result of a tip that popular blogging site Tumblr found that a user had uploaded an image of child pornography using its application, officials said.

They said the tip eventually led investigators to Folmer’s home in Lebanon, Pa., where they executed a search warrant and found child pornography images on his cellphone.

Folmer told the police that he received the images via his Tumblr account and that he was experiencing some ‘personal problems.’

Gov. Tom Wolf has called for Folmer’s immediate resignation.

It will come as no surprise that Folmer has often voted against LGBTQ protections or rights during his time in office because, you know, Jesus.

In 2008, he was a sponsor of Pennsylvania’s “Marriage Protection Act;’ in 2016, he blocked the Pennsylvania Fairness Act saying he didn’t see any ‘urgency’ to passing the legislation; and in 2018, he blocked that same legislation again.

Hypocrisy: Alabama Evangelical Youth Pastor Arrested On Child Sex Charges

Paul Edward Acton Bowen

Yet another evangelical hypocrite has been arrested on child sex charges. This time its an Alabama youth pastor.

From AL.com:

Paul Edward Acton Bowen, a 37-year-old Gadsden native who now lives in Etowah County’s Southside community, was taken into custody by Hoover police about 12:35 p.m.

The founder of Acton Bowen Outreach Ministries is charged with second-degree sodomy, enticing a child to enter a vehicle or house for immoral purposes, and second-degree sex abuse.

The victim was a young male, but police did not release his age except to say he is over 12 and under 16.

Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector said the department’s Special Victim’s Unit first launched an investigation three weeks ago. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office issued the warrants on Monday.

“This is certainly one of the more disturbing cases that we’ve investigated in quite some time,” Rector said. “Mr. Bowen is in a highly-respected position of influence and he is trusted by many. We believe he betrayed that trust in the worst kind of way.”

Bowen was taken into custody in Pelham and transported to the Hoover City Jail. He was moved to the Jefferson County Jail where he was released early Wednesday on $90,300 bond.

Oklahoma: Former “Family Values” GOP State Senator Ralph Shortey Planned Bareback Sex With Male Teen Prostitute

Why does it seem it’s always the “family-values Christians” that end up being that which they attack so viciously?

You’ll recall former state Sen. Ralph Shortey was found in a room at a Motel 6 with a teenage boy on March 9. It was later deduced that he had offered the boy cash in exchange for “sexual stuff.”

Apparently, “sexual stuff” meant having bare back sex and ejaculating in the teen’s “boy p***y.”

From NBC affiliate KFOR in Oklahoma City:

Ralph Shortey, a Republican from Oklahoma City who represented the state’s 44th senate district, was charged last week in Cleveland County with three counts relating to child prostitution. He turned himself in last Thursday and has been out on bond since.

He faces three felony counts of engaging in child prostitution, engaging in prostitution within 1,000 feet of a church and transporting a minor for prostitution or lewdness. Friday was his initial court appearance and the judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Court documents lay out lurid messages that were sent between the teen and Shortey. WARNING: The court documents in the link below contain GRAPHIC, DISTURBING and ADULT language. Reader discretion is strongly advised.

Shortey served as Donald Trump’s state campaign chair during the GOP primary.

Married to a woman with three children, the former state senator faces up to 25 years in prison.

Trump Spends More Taxpayer Money In One Month On Vacations Than Obama In A Year

President Trump, who used to denounce the vacations President Obama took due to the American taxpayer having to foot security bills, isn’t having any problem spending taxpayer money on himself.

From The Independent:

The US President’s three visits to his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida since his presidential inauguration, combined with his sons’ business trips, reportedly cost $11.3m.

Conservative watchdog Judicial Watch estimated Mr Obama’s travel expenses totalled an average $12.1m in each of his eight years in the White House.

“This is an expensive way to conduct business, and the President should recognise that,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, speaking to the Washington Post.

“The unique thing about President Trump is that he knows what it costs to run a plane.

“Going down [to Mar-a-Lago] ain’t free.”

The three Mar-a-Lago trips in Palm Beach cost the federal treasury around $10m, based on figures used in an October government report analysing White House travel.

This includes cash for coast guards to patrol the exposed shoreline.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw also says it has cost local taxpayers $360,000 in police overtime for his three weekends in Florida since 20 January.

Each trip to Mar-a-Lago reportedly costs taxpayers $3 million.

During the campaign, Trump told the press he “would rarely leave the White House” if he were president. Only one month into his administration, he’s made three trips already to Mar-a-Lago.

Back in the day, Trump was often critical of President Obama for what he considered excessive spending on behalf of the American people.

No such reservations now, huh?
