Hillary Clinton talks with Charlie Rose about Malaysia Airline flight shot down

Hillary Clinton, on a current media tour for her new book Hard Choices, shared her thoughts with Charlie Rose on the Malaysia Airline flight that was shot down today.

From Mediaite:

She noted that the Ukrainian government has been quick to blame the crash on “terrorists,” which is “their name for the Russian insurgents.” Clinton agreed that it “probably had to be” Russian insurgents that brought the plane down, but would need forensic evidence to determine that for sure.

“If there is evidence pointing in that direction, the equipment had to come from Russia,” Clinton continued. “There is a great deal of concern that, not only was a civilian plane shot down, but what this means about the continuing conflict in Eastern Ukraine and the role that Russia is playing.”

Hillary Clinton chats up Jon Stewart on The Daily Show

Former Secretary of State and US Senator Hillary Clinton sat down with the fab Jon Stewart on The Daily Show to chat about just about every topic you can think of regarding life in Hillary-land: 2016 run for President, her less than artful comment about being “dead broke,” the future of young people in this country and lots more.

You can check out the lengthy chat session below.

As always, my girl Hillary rocked.

Poll: No real front runner for GOP; Hillary way ahead for Dems

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

According to a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday, Sen. Rand Paul barely leads the way among national Republican voters with 11% of the vote in a potential 2016 GOP primary.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush all tied for second with 10% of the vote.

However, the Democrats know who they want for 2016. Hillary Clinton leads with 58% of those polled. Coming in a distant second is Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren with 11%. Vice-president Joe Biden comes in third with 9%.

In head to head match ups, Hillary leads all of the GOP folks by a margin of 7-9 points.

Hillary meets GOP squirrel and gives him copy of her new book

Hillary Clinton, currently touring the country in support of her newly released book Hard Choices, shows she still has a wicked sense of humor.

Following Hillary on her book tour is a giant squirrel GOP mascot who is handing out bumper stickers that read, “Another Clinton In The White House Is Nuts.”

Yesterday, Hillary decided to say “hello” to the squirrel, and handed him a signed copy of her book.

The squirrel thanked her on Twitter.

I love Hillary 🙂

Quote of the day: Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton speaking at the Chicago Harris Theater regarding the march for LGBT equality:

“We have a long way to go, I don’t want to mislead anybody.

“This is going to be an ongoing struggle and the United States must be on the front lines.”

You’ll recall that in 2011, Hillary famously announced “gay rights are human rights.”

Run, Hillary, Run!

Conservative pundits continue to paint Hillary Clinton’s health as sub-par

Conservative political pundits have been trying to create a story about Hillary Clinton’s health as an issue of “concern” in regards to her possible presidential run in 2016.  Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh, among others, continue to find ways to imply that Clinton’s health is somehow sub-par.

Today, conservative blogger Matt Drudge floated the idea that the new cover of People Magazine shows Hillary leaning on a walker.

People actually had to issue a statement saying that Hillary’s hands are resting on a patio chair.

From Nancy Valentino, a senior vice president of communications at Time Inc., which owns People: “Secretary Clinton is standing next to a patio chair in the backyard of her home where the photo shoot took place! I have also attached another photo from the shoot – thanks for checking in on this.”

It’s getting really silly, folks…

RNC chairman Reince Priebus: Hillary Clinton’s age & health are “fair game”

Hillary Clinton’s age and health status are “fair game” if she should decide to run for the 2016 presidency, the Republican Party leader said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“I don’t think there’s a graceful way to bring up age, health and fitness for a candidate who wants to be president of the United States,” said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus when asked about reports that Republican strategist Karl Rove claimed Clinton could have suffered brain damage from a blood clot two years ago.

“It was fair game for Ronald Reagan. It was fair game for John McCain,” Priebus added.

Reagan took office in 1981 at age 69, and McCain was 72 on Election Day in 2008. Clinton is currently 66 years old.

Priebus added that he isn’t convinced Hillary will run: “I actually doubt very much that she will decide to run in 2016,” he said.

Hillary Clinton surprises Barbara Walters on her final show

What a great way to start the surprises on THE VIEW today as Hillary Clinton joined the ladies to honor Barbara Walters on her last day as a regular co-host on the show.

Hillary is the only person to have made Barbara’s “Most Fascinating” list four times, and twice she was listed as the #1 “most fascinating.”

Barbara jokingly invited Hillary to replace her on THE VIEW, but then followed up with one more question – “are you running?”  Hillary did answer in the affirmative, saying she’s “running around the park.”

Another cute moment occurred when Hillary’s impending grandchild came up.  Barbara asked “What do you want to be called?”  Sherri Shepard adds, “Nana?  President Clinton?”  Hillary was clearly avoiding all talk of presidential runs on this day.

Hillary also answered questions about her new book Hard Choices, which focuses primarily on her time as Secretary of State.

Fun segment.

Right-wing radio host launches the birth of the “Pregnancy Truthers”

Right-wing radio host Steve Malzberg, speaking about on the news of Chelsea Clinton’s impending birth:

“Chelsea Clinton is having a baby, she announced it and lo and behold, Hillary was by her side.

“Hillary is going to be a grandmother. And an expected grandmother while she runs for president.

“I don’t mean that they’re making up she’s pregnant, OK? But what great timing! I mean, purely accidental, purely an act of nature, purely just left up to God, and God answered Hillary Clinton’s prayers and she’s going to have the prop of being a new grandma while she runs for president.”

So, Chelsea Clinton has famous parents who are happy to be first time grand-parents, and Steve Malzberg tosses out some red meat that the birth is part of an all-encompassing scheme to win votes for a presidential run that hasn’t even been announced yet.

SRSLY.

The “Shoe Truthers” – I told you this was coming…

Just yesterday I warned of the coming of the “Shoe Truthers” – right wingnuts who are trying to feed a story that the “shoe thrower” from last week’s Hillary appearance in Las Vegas was a fake incident planned by the Clinton camp.

Today failed GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain fed into the fake frenzy.

Lord…

And I have a bridge to sell you right over here…
