John Oliver: Ok, I Admit It, Trump Is My Fault

John Oliver, of HBO’s Last Week Tonight, finally copped to the fact that it is HE who is to blame for a Donald Trump White House run.

“It is frankly hard to believe there ever was a time when people thought a Trump candidacy would be funny, but there was such a time,” Oliver said, in his own defense. “As you may remember, three years ago I guest-hosted The Daily Show. “And, there is something you should see,” he said, cueing up his video confessional.

In The Daily Show video Oliver responds to an MSNBC report the reality TV star will consider a White House run in ’16, taunting Trump, “Do it! Do it! Look at me! Do it!” as his Comedy Central show audience erupts in gales of laughter. “I will personally write you a campaign check now, on behalf of this country, which does not want you to be president but which badly wants you to run,” Oliver added.

MSNBC reporter Katy Tur, who has been following the Trump campaign for over a year, showed incredible grace under fire as Donald Trump directs his followers to focus their ire on her specifically during campaign rallies.

Yesterday she explained how the attacks happen and why.

Campaign Manager Ducks Questions About Trump’s Upcoming Rape Trial

Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway refused to discuss her candidate’s upcoming child rape case during an appearance on CNBC.

CNBC host Andrew Ross Sorkin brought up Trump’s threat to throw Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in jail over her ongoing email kerfulle if he’s elected, but also noted Trump’s own legal scandals.

Trump is scheduled to begin a court case in December in which a woman has accused him of raping her when she was 13 years old.

“My understanding is that no matter who wins, we’re going to be dealing with the email issue after this if she’s the president,” he explained. “If Donald Trump is the president, he’s got the child rape case that’s going to happen that was just given a date.”

“Oh, come on,” Conway gasped. “That you would analogize the two. Give me a break.”

“I’m just suggesting that no matter who is in the White House,” Sorkin continued before being interrupted.

“Next you are going to ask me where his taxes are,” Conway quipped, rolling her eyes.

I’m unclear as to why Conway thinks a charge of rape is an unimportant matter. The Trump campaign keeps carping about “possible” charges against Hillary Clinton, but Trump is the one who’s actually going to trial.

LBJ’s “Daisy” Girl Is Back 52 Years Later Warning Of A Trump Presidency

Monique Corzilius Luiz, who appeared in the infamous LBJ “Daisy” nuclear campaign ad 52 years ago, is back in a new Hillary Clinton spot highlighting Donald Trump’s tempestuous temperament and the dangers of a Trump presidency.

Hillary Clinton opened the last full week of campaigning Monday with a television advertisement revisiting the famous 1964 “Daisy” ad about nuclear weapons, an attempt to shift the presidential election back to a comparison with Donald Trump after a renewed FBI inquiry roiled her campaign.

The new ad features the same woman who, as a small girl, plucked petals from a flower in the original one, which was aimed at Republican presidential nominee Barry Goldwater. The new one returns to a frequent Clinton theme this year – the claim that Trump is reckless and unfit to be commander in chief. The national security comparison has been one of Clinton’s strongest advantages over the Republican businessman in an election she remains favored to win.

The original “Daisy” ad, officially titled “Peace, Little Girl,” famously only aired once, on NBC, on Sept. 7, 1964.

I Feel Personally Desecrated Looking At This Photo

Campaigning in Colorado for two days, Republican Donald Trump took to the stage at a rally carrying an upside-down LGBT flag with the poorly written type, “LGBTs for TRUMP.”

While he has often said on the campaign trail he would be better for “the gays” than Hillary Clinton, he has also made it clear he would nominate Supreme Court justices who would overturn the right of same-sex couples to marry.

He would also legalize the right of businesses to discriminate against LGBTs.

The look on his face says it all.

No, Donald Trump, There’s No Voter Fraud In Texas

Republican Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he’s hearing about rampant voter fraud at the polls in Texas.

In the end, it turns out one voter didn’t know how to review their own ballot.

Even the Tarrant County Republican chairman didn’t buy into the Trumpster’s hyperbole.

From Politico:

According to Snopes, “Reports are not flooding in from across Texas about vote switching.”

“Although rumors of ‘vote switching’ in Texas are rampant, we found only one case in which a report was investigated, and it was found to be unsubstantiated,” the rumor researching website said.

The Republican presidential nominee is likely referring to an allegation from a woman who posted on Facebook this week that she voted for Republicans up and down the ballot, though the summary of her votes showed that the Hillary Clinton-Tim Kaine ticket was checked, too.

“I tried to go back and change and could not get it to work,” the woman, who voted in Texas, said. “I asked for help from one of the workers and she couldn’t get it to go back either. It took a second election person to get the machine to where I could correct the vote to a straight ticket.”

The woman urged voters to “double check your selections before you cast your vote!”

According to election officials, however, the problem was likely a “voter error,” not a sign of election rigging.

Tim O’Hare, chair of the Tarrant County Republican Party, told a local CBS affiliate that voters are inadvertently changing their votes by incorrectly turning the machine’s wheel to change the page.

“We don’t think there’s fraud inside the machine or software glitches,” he said.

Meet Mae Wiggins. She is a woman of color who was told by the Trump Corporation that there were no apartments available for her to rent. When she took her suspicions that they were lying to her over to the New York Human Rights Commission, they sent a white couple, per the standard practice of the time, to the property only to learn that there were, in fact, vacancies and the white couple was more than welcome to rent one of the units.

Among the many shocking claims in Hillary Clinton‘s latest ad, which features Wiggins, viewers learn that after Donald Trump took over the business from his father, Trump personnel were instructed to write a “C” for “colored” on the housing application of any non-white prospective tenant. That came from Elyse Goldweber, an attorney on the Justice Department’s eventual case against Trump. A New York Times piece from August revealed that Trump’s father, Fred Trump, simply dealt with applications from people of color by instructing his staff to put them in a drawer and leave them there.

As President Obama returns to Jimmy Kimmel’s show for another round of “Presidential Mean Tweets” where he reads negative tweets about himself, Obama delivers a mic-drop worthy response to one tweet in particular from a certain orange hued critic.
