Sen. Harry Reid: The Responsibility For Healing Begins With Donald Trump

Retiring Senate Minority Leader Sen. Harry Reid isn’t going to be singing “Kumbaya” with Donald Trump any time soon.

From his official website:

“If this is going to be a time of healing, we must first put the responsibility for healing where it belongs: at the feet of Donald Trump, a sexual predator who lost the popular vote and fueled his campaign with bigotry and hate. Winning the electoral college does not absolve Trump of the grave sins he committed against millions of Americans. Donald Trump may not possess the capacity to assuage those fears, but he owes it to this nation to try.

“If Trump wants to roll back the tide of hate he unleashed, he has a tremendous amount of work to do and he must begin immediately.”

Megyn Kelly Memoir: Fox News Leaked Debate Questions To Trump Campaign

You’ll recall just weeks ago Republicans railed against the DNC when an email from WikiLeaks seemed to confirm that Donna Brazile had leaked the Clinton campaign a debate question prior to one of the Democratic primary debates.

Outrage! Fury!

I wouldn’t hold your breath for the same reaction as we now learn that someone leaked debate questions to the Trump campaign as well.

From the New York Times report about Megyn Kelly’s new memoir:

Ms. Kelly writes that her problems started in August, the Monday before the first Republican presidential primary debate. She had just done a segment on her show, “The Kelly File,” that infuriated Mr. Trump. He refused to make his own scheduled appearance on her show unless she phoned him personally. “I almost unleashed my beautiful Twitter account against you,” she says he told her, “and I still may.”

Then, the day before the first presidential debate, Mr. Trump was in a lather again, Ms. Kelly writes. He called Fox executives, saying he’d heard that her first question “was a very pointed question directed at him.” This disconcerted her, because it was true: It was about his history of using disparaging language about women.

She doesn’t speculate where the leak came from. (She reports. You decide.) But that’s another unambiguous takeaway from this book: Parts of Fox — or at the very least, Roger Ailes, the network’s chairman until July, when he was given the boot after several allegations of sexual harassment were made against him — seemed to be nakedly colluding with the Republican presidential nominee.

Of course, the very first question Kelly asked was directed to Trump about his treatment and language towards women. Trump was so angry about the question he launched his much ballyhooed Twitter war against Kelly.

President Obama Meets President-Elect Trump In Oval Office

The first meeting between President Obama and President-elect Trump took place today at the White House.

The two men had never met before today.

Both were cordial in brief remarks at the end of the hour and a half meeting.

Throwback Thursday: When Donald Trump Called The Electoral College “Phoney”

Back in 2012, Donald Trump didn’t care for the Electoral College so much. I’m sure he has a different take today.

The above tweet-storm came after Mitt Romney lost the 2012 election. Not sure why he rails at popular vote/electoral college construct since Obama won both that year.

Omarosa: “Every Critic Will Have To Bow Down To President Trump”

Reality TV personality and Donald Trump surrogate Omarosa Manigault, speaking to the press last night, said the newly-minted President-elect is making a list (and checking it twice) of people who did not support his run for the White House.

At Trump’s election night party at the Midtown Hilton Hotel in New York, Omarosa told the Independent Journal Review that “it’s so great our enemies are making themselves clear so that when we get in to the White House, we know where we stand.”

An an example, Manigault reminded that Sen. Lindsey Graham did not support the Trumpster during the presidential cycle and instead cast his ballot for independent candidate Evan McMullin. “If [Graham] felt his interests was with that candidate, God bless him. I would never judge anybody for exercising their right to and the freedom to choose who they want. But let me just tell you, Mr. Trump has a long memory and we’re keeping a list.”

Check this video from earlier in the campaign where Omarosa spells out how Trump sees his enemies.

“It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.”

Nazi Website: “Now We’re Going To Get To Kick Out These Monkeys!”

Andrew Anglin, editor of The Daily Stormer, penned this post in the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election as president-elect.

The Daily Stormer is an American neo-Nazi and white supremacist news and commentary website. It is part of the alt-right movement, and calls itself “The World’s Most Visited Alt-Right Website”. (I won’t link to the site, you can find it easily).

We won, brothers.

All of our work. It has paid off.

Our Glorious Leader has ascended to God Emperor.

Make no mistake about it: we did this. If it were not for us, it wouldn’t have been possible.

We flooded the tubes, we created the energy, we made this happen.

We were with him every step of the way.

And the great news is, we’re going to be given credit for it.

The media is finished. They are going to lash out. They will implode completely.

History has been made.

Today, the world ended. A new world has been born.

Anything is possible now. The future is wide open.

Trump is a step toward our goal, not our actual goal, but he is a gigantic step.

This has been the best year and a half of my life.

We have won so much. And it has led to the ultimate win.

The battle is far from over. Much, much, much work to be done.

But the White race is back in the game. And if we’re playing, no one can beat us.

The winning is not going to stop.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo To Trump Spokesman: “Do You Have Any Proof Of An Audit?”

In a tense interview segment with CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Trump spokesman Jason Miller, Cuomo asked Miller if he could prove Donald Trump is actually being audited by the IRS.

As we’ve all seen for the past year, Trump says he can’t release his tax returns, as every other presidential candidate has done for 40 years, because he’s being audited by the IRS. The IRS has said there’s no problem with sharing those files.

Most believe that Trump is merely attempting to hide something – his true wealth, his true charitable giving, or his true tax rate.

Here’s part of the exchange via RawStory:

Jason Miller, the Trump advisor, said he did not accept the FBI’s explanation that newly discovered emails were actually duplicates of Clinton messages already examined by investigators.

“No, don’t accept it — they should release all the emails, let us have a look before Election Day,” Miller said. “We think that would be the smart thing to do.”

Cuomo, the host of “New Day,” accused the Trump campaign of hypocrisy.

“You love transparency when it’s not you guys,” Cuomo said. “You don’t see any irony in that?”

Cuomo called on Trump to release his emails — which have not been hacked and then dumped online by WikiLeaks — or his tax records, and Miller said he would do that as soon as an IRS audit was completed.

“You think anybody believes the audit thing going to the polls tomorrow?” Cuomo said. “You have any proof of an audit?”

Miller stammered, and said of course Trump could prove his taxes were under audit.

“Yeah, you do?” Cuomo said. “Have you seen an audit letter?”

Miller tried to change the subject, but Cuomo pressed on.

“That is the fact, right?” Cuomo said. “Transparency only works one way in this election where Trump’s involved.”

Miller tried changing the subject to the Clinton Foundation, and Cuomo offered to demonstrate how easy an audit can be proved.

“I’ll show you an audit letter I got,” he said.

Nevada: Trump Campaign Sues Clark County Registrar Over Early Voting

It looks like the Trumpster is already playing the role of sore loser.

The Donald Trump campaign has filed a lawsuit in Nevada against the Clark County Registrar claiming polls at a Clark County voting location were kept open “2 hours beyond closing time” on the final day of early voting.

The fact is, people were in line before closing, and Nevada state law allows registered voters to cast their ballot if they are in line before closing time.

From CNN:

Dan Kulin, a spokesperson for the county, told CNN that no early voting stations extended their closing times. They did, however, process voters who were in line at closing time to allow as many people to vote as possible. Trump lawyers are asking for an order to have the pertinent early vote ballots not to be “co-mingled or interspersed” with other ballots.

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway recently told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that the Trump campiagn had no evidence that there was any wrongdoing at the polling location.
