Commercials: Lynx Ad Features Gay Couple

Down under, the Axe line of personal products is marketed as Lynx. And the cool Aussie folks in charge of Lynx recently released this new commercial which features a gay couple kissing.

“Now can be amazing. Go out. See amazing things. Get an amazing job. Kiss the hottest girl. Or the hottest boy,” he says.

Taco Bell – We Didn’t Make Gay Commercial, But We Sure Like It

Yesterday, I posted what seems to be a “commercial” for Taco Bell featuring an apparent gay couple cavorting around before work after having breakfast at the fast food establishment.

Questions abounded on the interwebs wondering if the ad was real.

Turns out it’s not, but Taco Bell is mighty impressed.

Via Gawker:

We didn’t create this ad, but we can see the people who did share the same Live Mas passion for our brand—and our breakfast—as we do. Although we cannot condone unauthorized use of our intellectual property, we are impressed with their work and would be open to meeting with them.

Christmas Ad From UK Supermarket Chain Sainsbury’s Goes Viral

British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s Christmas ad is getting lots of attention within hours of being posted on YouTube.

Over 1.8 million views worth of attention.

From the Guardian:

There is no disputing that the new Sainsbury’s ad is, on its own terms, a masterpiece. The cinematography is breathtaking. Without saying a word, the young cast conveys a startling array of emotional depth within a few short minutes. The simple narrative, built around the near-mythical Christmas truce between the trenches of 1914, has just the right blend of poignancy and sentimentality to bring a tear to the most cynical eye.

However, the Guardian goes on to rip Sainsburys for making the first world war “beautiful.”

The Cheerios Effect: André, Jonathan & Raphaëlle’s Story

A new ad campaign by General Mills features two gay dads in a touching video that uses the “Cheerios Effect” as a metaphor for human beings desire to connect.

From MarketingMag:

“The Cheerios Effect,” is the colloquial name some have given to a phenomenon that anyone who’s eaten a bowl of the cereal knows: when two Cheerios float in milk, they tend to attract one another thanks to surface tension. Cossette is using this as a jumping-off point to address the broader issue of social isolation and loneliness.

The campaign will include nearly a dozen videos on the internet and TV ranging from 15 seconds to three-minute mini-documentaries, all featuring a diverse range of stories across demographics. They include the story of two gay fathers who have adopted a young girl, grandparents and grandchildren, and young women connecting by using sign language.

And here’s a short :15 vid to introduce the campaign:

Here Kitty, Kitty – We’re Gonna Meow Mix It Up Tonight

Ok, so who loves cowboys?

(Line forms to the right, please. Thank you.)

Now who loves cats?

(Join the line to the right, please.)

So, when I get an email about “Country Cat” song, I had a bit of doubt, I’ll admit. “Oh great, another cat video.”

I mean, cats are great and all that BUT –  you throw cowboys into the same video. I’m sitting up now.

Very cute and catchy little ditty here. J.R. Moore tells the story of a country boy who works all day and hangs with his best friend at night.

“Here kitty, kitty, yeah that’s right,
We’re gonna Meow Mix it up tonight.”

Draw your own conclusions about any double entendres 🙂
