Ok, it’s officially the “Day of Nutty News” I’ve decided.
If the videos of the bigots from “Stand with Scouts Sunday” weren’t enough today, we get news that consistent asshat Bryan Fischer of the misleadingly named “American Family Association” (they don’t really represent ALL families – like LGBT families) has announced that President Obama wants to disarm Christian gun owners:
American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer is convinced that President Obama’s pledge to “keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people,” a remark he made while speaking in Mexico City, is actually a veiled attempt to lay the groundwork to forcibly “disarm people of the Christian faith.”
Fischer said that Obama is “setting up the stage to take guns away from evangelicals” and classify them as terrorists: “‘You believe in Jesus Christ?’ ‘Yes I certainly do sir.’ ‘Give me your gun, we’re coming into your house and taking your guns, you’re dangerous, you’re a threat you’re an extremist, you’re a terrorist threat, we can’t let you have a gun.’”
I think this is all a contest between who can make the most false accusation before sun down.
SRSLY.
Bryan, we’ve been in the showers all along. And you know that. That’s what fuels your hate every day.
Remember?

One of “God’s gentle people” – Bryan Fischer of the hate group American Family Association – tells us that folks SHOULD discriminate against gays and lesbians. That discrimination is a good thing. (p.s. NO – it’s not).
Fischer is referring to Ohio Catholic high school physical education teacher Carla Hale, who lost her job after her lesbian partner’s name appeared in her mother’s obituary. She didn’t parade around as a “militant lesbian” or make anyone listen to her promote anything. She quietly lives her private life at home.
Just days after her mother’s funeral, Hale was fired after a complaint from an anonymous parent.
Hale had worked at Bishop Watterson High School for 19 years with no complaints before her dismissal.
Says Bryan Fischer of American Family Association: “We’re getting to the point where these homofascists are going to force us to wear on our sleeve some kind of identifying marker so people will know who the racists and the homophobes and the bigots are.”
Because Christians are totally being beat up by the mean gays.
SRSLY?

If you ever needed a good example of “gay fear mongering” from folks like Bryan Fischer, this is it.
The above was tweeted by the notorious Mr. Fischer in reference to Queen Elizabeth II’s plans to sign a document in public tomorrow called the “21st Century Commonwealth Magna Carta,”
One particular line in this document is making headlines around the world because people have interpreted it as the first time Queen Elizabeth will openly support gay rights in her 61-year reign. While the document alludes to LGBT discrimination, it doesn’t actually mention gays or lesbians.
Via the Daily Mail:
The charter, dubbed a ‘21st Century Commonwealth Magna Carta’ declares: ‘We are implacably opposed to all forms of discrimination, whether rooted in gender, race, colour, creed, political belief or other grounds.’ The ‘other grounds’ is intended to refer to sexuality – but specific reference to ‘gays and lesbians’ was omitted in deference to Commonwealth countries with draconian anti-gay laws. Sources close to the Royal Household said she is aware of the implications of the charter’s implicit support of gay rights and commitment to gender equality.
While I applaud the Queen for a welcome step forward, let’s go back to Mr. Fischer’s tweet.
“Active and aggressive discrimination against Christians…” Now does “whether rooted in gender, race, color, creed, political belief or other grounds” sound like “active and aggressive” Christian discrimination?
And btw – homosexuality remains illegal in 41 of the 54 Commonwealth nations.
This is how these clowns operate. Waving red flags and stirring a pot that isn’t even on simmer.
Sad, Mr. Fisher, sad…
Senator Rand Paul was a guest on AFA hate group leader Bryan Fischer’s radio show yesterday. The Senator and Fischer discussed several topics, but what is an interview between two ultra-conservatives without getting into the gays? So, of course, they eventually found themselves on the topic of marriage equality.
Paul noted that his state, Kentucky, had approved a constitutional amendment to prohibit same-sex marriage. He said he was “not sure” about DOMA, but warned the federal law could result in conservatives losing “the battle for the whole country.”
To be honest, I don’t understand what there is to “understand.” Two people love each other and want to marry and have the same rights, privileges and responsibilities as straight couples.
Plus – if you believe marriage is a “states rights” issue, then you can’t possibly support DOMA. DOMA is a federal law reaching into what you’ve just said is a “states rights” issue.
There. Was that hard?
I give you Bryan Fischer of the virulently anti-gay American Family Association.
I love that Fischer brings up the fact that sodomy was outlawed for 200 years. Slavery was legal for hundreds of years, but we finally stopped that. Women couldn’t vote for hundreds of years – that wrong was righted. Do I really need to explain again how society evolves?
What happens in the bedroom of two consenting adults is a matter of privacy. And the Supreme Court has ruled on the right of privacy. And it’s a pretty common sense issue at that.
In case you ever wonder why I write and post so much about marriage equality and equal rights, here’s what the LGBT community deals with every day of our lives.
Many people may not be aware that this kind of propaganda happens every single day in the world.
So, if you ever wonder why I’m so adamant about equality for all, watch this video and realize that this is what gays and lesbians have to cope with all the time.

Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association says hispanics do not vote Democratic because of immigration issues but rather because “they are socialists by nature” who want open borders simply so that they can bring in their families to “benefit from the plunder of the wealth of the United States.”
Bravo to CNN’s Carol Costello for being fair here. She gives Mr. Fischer the chance to share his views and then calmly calls him for what it is – hate speech.
This is from a discussion on CNN today about SPLC’s “Mix It Up Day” which is meant to promote tolerance and fight bullying.
I continue to ask the question: what is wrong with letting people be who they are, as God created them?
And while the US Constitution ensures the right of free speech, just because you CAN say something – even if it’s not true – doesn’t mean you SHOULD say it.
Here is just part of what Fischer says in the clip:
“…what parents need to understand, this is about pressuring public schools and students in public schools to accept homosexuality as a normal, healthy alternative to heterosexuality. It’s interesting to me they’re doing this on October 30, the day before Halloween, and what this program is, it’s like poisoned Halloween candy. Somebody takes a candy bar, injects it with cyanide, the label looks fine, it looks innocuous, it looks fine, it’s not until you internalize it that you realize how toxic it is. And we want parents to be aware that any program that any program that comes from the Southern Poverty Law Center is going to be toxic to their students’ moral health. “
