Sen. Rand Paul eases rhetoric on same-sex marriage

Clearly Sen. Rand Paul is attempting to get his ducks in a row for a 2016 presidential run. Note his statement here softening his position on gay marriage to Vocativ:

“I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues.

“The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues.

“On issues that are very contentious, that involve social mores — I think that allowing different parts of the country to make their decision based on the local mores and culture is a good idea.

“But when it comes to taxes and benefits, the [federal] government ought to take a neutral position — a way where marriage wouldn’t have an effect, positive or negative, on those things.”

And the far right-wing is already mad…

Bryan Fischer: Having same-sex parents is “child abuse”

Predictably, hate group leader Bryan Fischer was not happy about this year’s Grammy Awards show.

Regarding the Macklemore/Madonna/Queen Latifah “Same Love” segment near the end of the telecast, Fischer calls the marriage ceremony an “abomination.”

He goes on to say “If you care about children,” Fischer said, “this thing ought to appall you because gay marriage is bad for children. In fact, same-sex parenting – I’m going to be very direct here – same-sex parenting is a form of child abuse.”

Bryan Fischer could not “choose” to have sex with a man

Bryan Fischer, of the anti-gay hate group American Family Association, has long shared that he does not believe gays and lesbians are born gay. That their sexual behavior is by choice. That they can CHOOSE to have same-sex relations.

But when caller to his radio show asked if Fischer could have sex with a man (it’s a “choice” you know…) Fischer was a little dumbfounded because he simply couldn’t “choose” to do the “deed” with a man:

Caller: Could you have sex with a man?

Fischer: I’m sorry?

Caller: Could you have sex with a man?

Fischer: Would I?

Caller: Could you?

Fischer: No.

Caller: I thought it was a choice?

Fischer: Sure it is, I’m just saying it’s emotionally, morally, mentally impossible for me—

Caller: But you just told me that you couldn’t do it?

Fischer: Yeah, I couldn’t do it, there was no way; there is nothing in me that would let me do that.

Caller: OK. How do you think I feel about women?

Fischer: I don’t know. How do you feel about women?

Caller: There ain’t no way.

So when gays and lesbians don’t choose to have sex with someone of the opposite sex, it’s their own choice and a sin. When Bryan Fischer can’t choose to have sex with a man, it’s just impossible.

But remember – Fischer says it’s all a choice…

Anti-gay crackpot Bryan Fischer: Hillary Clinton could be our first lesbian President

Bryan Fischer, of the certified hate group American Family Association, has already stated that Americans would never elect Hillary Clinton as president because she is simply “too old” and “too saggy.

Now, he has a new reason to oppose Hillary – according to him, if Clinton should win, then she might be the “first lesbian president.”

Right Wing Watch has the details:

Fischer pointed to an interview between Gennifer Flowers and the UK-based Daily Mail in which she claims that Bill Clinton told her that Hillary is bisexual, and therefore it isn’t out of the question that she may be having an affair with aide Huma Abedin.

Since Fischer accepts pure speculation from whatever source as indisputable fact so long as it fits his agenda, it is no surprise that he now claims that “the bottom line is that if Hillary Clinton becomes president in 2016 she will not only be our first female president she could be our first lesbian president.”

Bryan Fischer- It will be unconstitutional if DOMA is declared unconstitutional

Bryan Fischer, of the hate group American Family Association, says states should ignore the SCOTUS rulings on marriage equality if DOMA is struck down:

Anything short of upholding DOMA, anything short of upholding Prop 8 in California will be a setback for the rule of law, it will be a setback for a constitutional form of government; in fact you can just eliminate the first three words of the Constitution: “We the people.” That will be utterly meaningless if the Supreme Court does not uphold Prop 8 and does not uphold DOMA, period. Anything short of that and the American people have been robbed of the capacity and the right and the authority to be a self-governing people.

If the states were to do it, the thirty states that have marriage amendments say, ‘fine, the Supreme Court has issued its ruling, we’re going to ignore it, they have exceeded their authority, we have no obligation. In fact, if we recognize their ruling, we give credence to it, then we are violating the Constitution because the Constitution gives them no authority to do that to us so we have compounded their unconstitutional act with an unconstitutional act of our own.

Bryan Fischer: Mormon Church supports gay scouts with secret polygamy endgame agenda

Bryan Fischer has been in search of a reason for why the Mormon Church supported the decision by the Boy Scouts of America (or “Boy Sodomizers of America,” as he calls them) to lift its ban on gay scouts, and now he’s found one.

Of course, he has no proof, but he “believes” that the Mormon support comes from a secret plan to bring back polygamy.

And there you have it.

What an idiot…
