Pride Music: Tom Goss “Bears”

Pride Month includes all of our diverse communities, so I love sharing this music video.

Back in 2013, over 200 “bears” joined together to make guitar-toting Tom Goss’s super-fun music video for “Bears.”

Complete with lots of robust, hirsute men playing with Super Soakers, careening down a slip and slide, and dancing in a club (usually in slow motion), the video celebrates all the furry goodness.

Prominent figures in the “bear” and LGBTQ community star in the film including model and Bear World Magazine’s “Bear of the Month,” Miles Windsor (a.k.a. Lumberjack Bear), Charger Stone (DC Bear Crue), and well-known drag queen, B’Naka.

Aside from his personal tastes (his husband since 2010 is a self-professed Bear), Tom wanted to showcase the diversity of the gay community in a high caliber production.

“We are overrun with images of perfect men, in perfect clothes and perfect bodies, and as a result, many people doubt their self-image,” says Goss.  “This video showcases what it means to be beautiful and sexy, regardless of size,” he continues.

Even before it’s formal release, the buzz both online and through the production had already resulted in Goss receiving dozens of emails from men thanking him for boosting their self-image.

All things Tom Goss can be found at his official website here.

Out Music: St. Vincent Swims In A Sea Of Sexy Bears “Fast Slow Disco”

St. Vincent (whose real name is Annie Clark) recently reimagined her song “Slow Disco” into a sensual, euphoric remix and set the music video in a late night dance club.
St. Vincent in a sea of bears for “Fast Slow Disco”

I know, I know… No one wants to see a dance floor full of sexy, gay, leather-clad, harness-wearing bears grinding and pawing at each other to an edgy, sweaty, hypnotic beat.

But if you did…

St. Vincent (whose real name is Annie Clark) recently reimagined her song “Slow Disco” into a sensual, euphoric remix and set the music video in a late night dance club.

Climbing over, under and around the crowd of shirtless men who are touching, swaying and making out, St. Vincent is basically swimming a virtual bear soup.

After shooting the video, the artist took time to strike a pose with her boys which she shared on her social media:

Produced by St. Vincent and Jack Antonoff, the singer says the remix was inspired by Taylor Swift, who Antonoff is close to.

“I don’t want to start a weird rumour or anything,” Clark said, “but I swear to God, you know because Jack Antonoff’s bros with Taylor Swift because they work together a lot, and I feel like Taylor was like, ‘You should make this a pop song’.”

She also shared that she imagined the sound of the track as a tribute to the Queen of Pop. “For me it was like, it’s such a homage to ‘Like A Prayer’-era Madonna.”

Announcing the release, St. Vincent tweeted to her 1 million followers, “Happy Pride. It was sweet of these boys to let me crash their party.”

On YouTube, St. Vincent told her fans, “I always felt this song could wear different outfits and live many different lives. Here she is in disco pants, sweating on a New York dance floor.”

St. Vincent has previously shared that she doesn’t identify as gay or straight.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, she said: ‘I don’t think about those words. I believe in gender fluidity and sexual fluidity [so] I don’t really identify as anything.”

‘You can fall in love with anybody,” she added. “I don’t have anything to hide but I’d rather the emphasis be on music.”

Viral Video: Bear Chews Kayak Despite Pleas From Kayaker

Via Gawker:

“Bear! Bear! You’re breaking it! You’re breaking my kayak! Why are you breaking my kayak?! Bear! STOP!”

On a recent solo Kayak trip in Alaska, Mary Maley encountered this hungry and curious bear while she was finishing up lunch. After thanking the bear for not eating her kayak, she tried to pepper-spray him in the face.

So the bear ate her kayak.

This was unfortunate for Maley, who didn’t have any other way of getting out of Berg Bay. Very understandably, she had a complete and total meltdown. Less understandably, Maley posted her entire freakout to YouTube.

It’s all about the audio. I don’t mean to laugh at the poor woman, but her cries to stop are almost an SNL skit.

Web Series: WHERE THE BEARS ARE Premieres Season 4 Opener

One of my favorite web series is back today!

Episode One of WHERE THE BEARS ARE Season 4 is available now!

Clip description:

In the fourth season opener, the Bears throw a wedding shower in their backyard to celebrate Nelson and Todd’s upcoming nuptials, but things go south fast when Nelson’s mother Doris starts taking potshots at Todd, Nelson invites Todd’s estranged brother Jimmy without telling him, and a spiteful party crasher makes an insulting toast that threatens to ruin the entire event.

WHERE THE BEARS ARE is a web series following the exploits of 3 bear roommates sharing a house in the hills of Silverlake. It is “The Golden Girls” meets “Murder She Wrote” with big, hairy, gay men.

Italian Sports Magazine Features Kissing Gay Rugby Players

Italian magazine Sportweek is getting lots of attention this week by featuring a real-life gay rugby couple kissing on its cover.

The cover image, taken earlier this year at the Legends of Rugby event in Milan, is accompanied by the simple tag line: “Who’s Afraid of a Kiss?”

The couple featured on the cover, Giacomo and Stefano, are players for Free Rugby Roma, the first gay-friendly rugby team in Italy.
