• Boy Culture: Matt Rettenmund explains how his long-running gay blog came to an end, the race to save its legacy, and what he learned along the way. RIP Boy Culture, and long live BoyCulture.Substack.com. (I’ve already subscribed to his Substack).
• LGBTQ Nation: Excellent read on legendary HIV activist and author Mark S. King. Despite living through the darkest days of the HIV epidemic – losing friends and confronting his own diagnosis before any effective treatment existed – the now-65-year-old survivor looks back at his journey as one of triumph.
• JoeMyGod: QAnon conspiracy theorist/former Colorado county clerk Tina Peters has hit the one-year mark of serving a nine-year prison sentence for breaching election machines. She posted a manic rant on social media calling on the Justice Dept to get her out of her “hellhole” prison. #FAFO
• Erin In The Morning: Elon Musk and other far-right nutjobs are leading a boycott of Netflix after the streamer’s Dead End: Paranormal Park featured a transgender character.

If Netflix capitulates to their demands, an already strained market for LGBTQ+ animators might become even more dire.

• Reuters: Donald Trump’s administration froze $26 billion for Democratic-leaning states, following through on a threat to use the government shutdown to target Democratic priorities.
• Washington Post: A new poll shows 47% of Americans blame Donald Trump and congressional Republicans to blame for the current shutdown, 30% blame Democrats in Congress, and 23% weren’t sure.
