One Million Moms Hates A New Ad, So Obviously I Love It

The virulently anti-LGBTQ group One Million Moms is ranting about a sweet new ad from the organic mattress and pillow company, Avocado Green Mattress – which means, of course, that it’s charming and inclusive.

Titled “Natural as Love,” the spot features all kinds of couples and families – including two same-sex couples – chilling in their bedrooms. The voiceover for the ad tells us:

“At Avocado, we believe love is pure, honest, committed. And above all, natural. It inspires everything we do, from the natural, organic materials we use, to our commitment to sustainability. Because with enough love, we can change the world. Avocado – Natural as Love®.”

The commercial has a comfortable charm and a wholly heartwarming tone. So, obviously, OMMs would hate it.

Over on their Facebook page, the group grouses that Avocado Green Mattress “should be ashamed of its commercial for attempting to normalize sin by featuring same sex couples in bed together.”

OMM is particularly burned over the tag line, “Love is Pure … And Natural.”

“There is nothing pure or natural about homosexuality,” declares the haters.

Cue the sad trombone sound effect…wah, wah, wahhhhhhh.

It’s worth noting that there aren’t really “one million moms” associated with the group. In fact, after being on Twitter for more than ten years, they have less than 4,200 followers.

The only person ever seen in connection with the ‘organization’ is full-time homophobe Monica Cole.

It is basically One Meddling Mom with an agenda, and no company should be giving her the credence she so desperately craves.

Her name is Monica Cole. In the decade that I have been aware of One Million Moms, she is quite literally the only staff member I have ever heard anyone name. She is the one and only person who appears on their petitions, as well as the one and only person who speaks for them to the media.

She is the mom. Her. Solo. One person, supposedly representing one million.

Bravo to Avocado Green Brands for being inclusive as well as organic, renewable, sustainable, and ethical.
