• AP News: Aimenn Penny, 20, admitted to investigators he tried to burn down the Community Church of Chesterland on March 25 in an attempt to stop a scheduled charity drag event. He also said he regretted his arson attempt didn’t work.
• Fox5Atlanta: Residents in some Atlanta neighborhoods are expressing concern and outrage after waking up to antisemitic and transphobic flyers left for residents. The flyers claim six Jewish individuals are behind a “rise in transgenderism.”
• The Hill: A new Morning Consult poll finds that 58% of potential GOP primary voters said they would support Donald Trump, compared to the 21% who said they would back Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Former Vice President Mike Pence sits in a distant third with 7% support.
• Variety: Long-time “Dancing With the Stars” (2005-2022) and “Strictly Come Dancing” (2004-2016) judge Len Goodman died on April 22 of bone cancer. He was 78.

• AP News: North Dakota has adopted one of the strictest anti-abortion laws in the country. The new law bans the procedure throughout pregnancy, with slim exceptions up to six weeks’ gestation. North Dakota no longer has any abortion clinics.
• Fox News: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis – who’s on the verge of announcing his own run for the Republican presidential nomination – says he has no idea why already-announced candidate Donald Trump is currently taking shots at him.
