Kyle Rittenhouse has been found not guilty on all charges in the shooting deaths of two men and wounding of a third at a Wisconsin protest against racial injustice last year. https://twitter.com/CNN/status/1461761381552861186 Rittenhouse took the stand during the trial telling jurors he killed the men in self-defense. From CNN:
“I didn’t do anything wrong. I defended myself,” he testified.
Rittenhouse, now 18, was charged with five felonies:
• First-degree intentional homicide • First-degree reckless homicide • Attempted first-degree intentional homicide • Two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety
Jurors were also able to consider lesser offenses for two of the five counts.
Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed a misdemeanor weapons possession charge and a non-criminal curfew violation during the trial.
(PS) I mention this because the hunt will now be on for far-right demagogues searching through social media to find journalists predicting a conviction. They’ll have to search very hard, as most experts predicted the verdict we just saw and did so from very early on in the trial.

The justice system is not broken.
It’s completely fixed for white male killers with guns.

That a teenager could travel across state lines to a protest he had nothing to do with; shoot three people, killing two; and face no criminal consequences is a miscarriage of justice and an indictment of our criminal justice system. It is also an America the NRA has created.
