Some news items I thought worth your time:
• Gayety: Heartstopper star Kit Connor (above) has reportedly been cast as “Cyclops” in the upcoming new X-Men movie from Marvel Studios. #perfectcasting

• The Advocate: The WNBA has strongly denounced the ‘bad-faith efforts’ by NBA has-beens Royce White and Enes Kanter Freedom claiming to be trans to join the pro-women’s basketball league. There has never been a trans woman on a WNBA roster and there is no legitimate trans athlete currently trying to declare for the 2027 draft.
• Kenneth-in-the-212: Check out this week’s round-up of LGBTQ (and adjacent) publications including the latest issue of RAGE Magazine featuring out country music artist Bryan Ruby.
• Outsports: Couper Gunn, a gay high school soccer coach in rural America, was afraid to be visible. Not anymore. #Bravo
• JoeMyGod: The virulently anti-LGBTQ group One Million Moms is bigly upset over the new ad-spot from Cheez-It for featuring “offensive” and “destructive” sexual innuendos when a daughter introduces her boyfriend to her dad. Destructive???
• New York Times: Donald Trump’s hand-picked board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts approved a cutesy work-around to inscribe Trump’s name on the building (again), despite a federal judge’s order.
• NBC News: Remember the phrase “A dollar and a dream?” A single ticket sold in Illinois matched all six numbers and the Powerball to win Wednesday’s $1.04 billion jackpot, which is the eighth largest in the history of the lottery game. The lump sum payment would be $450.5 million before taxes.
To the tens of thousands and likely more dreaming about a $1 billion Powerball win, the anticipation is over: Someone who bought a ticket in Illinois won it all. https://t.co/9fQSMSpS7S
