Harris Trolls Trump Over Refusal To Release Medical Records

Vice President Kamala Harris called out Donald Trump during a campaign rally in North Carolina saying the convicted felon refuses to be “transparent with voters.” Among the issues mentioned were Trump’s ducking out on an interview with CBS News’ 60 Minutes, refusing to agree to a second debate (following his disastrous first debate with her), and refusing to release a comprehensive report on his health.

From NBC News:

“He is unwilling to meet for a second debate,” Harris said. “And here’s the thing, here’s the thing, it makes you wonder. It makes you wonder, why does his staff want him to hide away? One must question, one must question, are they afraid that people will see that he is too weak and unstable to lead America? Is that what’s going on?”

Invoking Trump’s medical history may serve a particular purpose for Harris, reminding voters that they’re a generation apart in age and that at 78, Trump is the oldest presidential nominee in U.S. history.

Harris has released a full summary of her medical history which says she is in excellent health and has “the physical and mental resiliency required to successfully execute the duties of the presidency.” Back in August Trump told CBS News he would “very gladly” release his medical records. Instead, his campaign has just issued a three-paragraph statement from Trump’s personal doctor from last year.

In related news, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), who was part of Trump’s inner circle for a time, told New York Times columnist Frank Bruni he sees the former president’s cognitive skills diminishing.

“He wasn’t as good in 2020 as he was in 2016. (In Trump debate prep) I played Hillary Clinton in 2016. I played Joe Biden in 2020. I saw decline in his skills in ’20 from ’16, and you see significant declines still.

“If you listen to him and his ability to make a point, it’s not nearly as good now as it was in 2016, not nearly.”
