Remember when Donald Trump told us the stock market would “absolutely crash” if Joe Biden became president? The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 0.6% and 0.4%, respectively, both trading at all-time highs today.
The Nasdaq Composite added 0.9% and was nearing a record of its own. Four years ago this week, the Dow Jones closed at 19,173. The stock market was dropping 900 points on some days back in October 2020 as COVID cases spiked. Today it crossed the 43,000 mark. If you have a retirement savings/401K account, yes, you are better off than you were four years ago. Much of this comes due to strong earnings reports from large banks and an encouraging report on inflation.
Record stock market, record oil production, record green energy, tamed inflation, historic employment high, record USA GDP, wages rising, manufacturing moving to the US, illegal border crossings down and a bipartisan bill ready to sign, new startups strong. Go Kamala!❤️
